This article is for the Windows 1.0-tan developed by OS-tan Collections users and should not be mistaken for Oichi-san, the Windows 1.x-tan developed by Futaba Channel.
Technical Details
The first release in the Windows operating system line, Windows 1.0 was a graphical shell that ran atop MS-DOS. It received lukewarm reviews, citing poor performance and lack of compatible software.
Character Details
Physical
Windows 1.0-tan is depicted as a young woman with light skin, bobbed lime green hair and bright green eyes with a pleasant, if blank expression, usually represented without pupils. While she dressed differently in her youth,[2] in contemporary times she dresses in a sleeveless orange top, yellow skirt with patches, and orange buckled shoes. She also wears a necklace, a stylized "1.0" hair ornament at the back of her head, and a variety of bandages.[3]
Personality
An incomplete prototype, Windows 1.0-tan is clumsy, slow to process information, and somewhat immature despite her age. Still, she's warm and gentle, demonstrating a high degree of emotional intelligence.[4] She's resilient in the face of hardship, keeping up a good outlook on life despite her banishment.[5]
She isn't very talkative. She tends to stick to simple tasks, taking pride in her work no matter how small. She despairs when she's unable to help someone, but is usually good at reaching out to others when she's out of her depth in a situation.
Her most prized possession is a picture frame containing photographs of her entire family, including the modern Windows-tans she doesn't personally know.[6]
