Nifty, it's cool to see the increase in photo quality. It looks clearer but still has a retro feel IMO.

Quote from: Goujer on July 06, 2026, 01:34:15 PMYou could convince me that new pic was taken with a modern camera.

Its 1280x960, so really not that far from early iPhones, or even just a downscaled image off a iPhone4.
With maximum quality you can only get something like 6 photos on a single floppy.

Dropping the quality down to 640x480 starts to give more the original FD7 look, but due to how the sensor works on FD7, it still doesn't get the true crustyness with the FD85.

Early Mavicas actually use a video camera sensor, so the image is scanned as an interlaced picture, which does give early Mavicas that somewhat jaggy picture quality. FD85 has already a sensor that scans the entire field in a single go. No interlace splicing that would cause artefacting.

I think I have a problem. Now I own 2 Mavica cameras.

The FD85 quality is kinda unfair compared to the older FD7. Maybe bit too good, as it just starts to look like any typical digital camera of the early 00s.

Not sure if I'm just imagining it, but the site does feel bit more alive than a year ago.
It definitely feels more alive now. It's been amazing to see!

You and your efforts are also worth more than anything an AI can put out. A crayon drawing that looks like a toddler made it will be celebrated and cherished here more than any AI generated images that are sent here.

I really HATE how the generative AI ruined the word AI.

Sometimes when I search "Madobe Ai", I sometimes get also AI "art" of Madobe OS-tans because Ai's name contains "Ai", NO I AM LOOKING FOR MADOBE AI IMAGES AND STUFF, MADOBE YUU'S TWIN SISTER, NOT FOR AI SLOP.
