| Considered by most to be the first major change to the Mac OS is Macintosh System 7 which was the first to use a trash can that keeps all currently trashed files until the user chooses to empty the trash (as opposed to earlier Mac OSes which empty the trash after each restart), a full-fledged Apple Menu that allows the user to put more than just Desk Accessories in it, support color icons and custom icons, full color interface, use virtual memory, support more than 8 MB of RAM and Multifinder (the component of Mac OS in Systems 4.2-9.2 that allows for multitasking) is always turned on, and introduced the Balloon Help feature. Although on the flip side, System 7 is confirmed to be slower than its predecessor.

| Macintosh System 7-tan was a powerful and confident old-school gangster in her youth but is now a depressed shell of her former self after her humiliating defeat against Windows 95-tan (her arch-enemy who she tried to knock out of the competition) during the OS Wars. She has green eyes, long dark blue hair topped with a green 7-shaped cowlick, wears glasses, a blue pinstriped jacket and skirt, Apple rainbow tie and black boots and is fairly tall for a Mac-tan, with a height of 5'7 [170 cm]. Her blue outfit as well as her depressed personality (having the blues) and even the fact that she is a blues singer are references to Blue, System 7's first codename. Her pinstriped suit and that she was a gangster are references to Capone, another codename. | |

| She used to wield a Yakuza-style katana but has lost interest and practice in it. Now she spends a lot of her time writing and singing blues songs. Although not really a supporter of their perversions, she does respect and gets along with the Mac OSX-kuns because she admires their wild and carefree spirit as well as that they exempt her from their perverted antics. System 7-tan is also friends with Netscape-tan and even MS BOB-tan.
