==Technical details==
Built over a span of several years (1943 - 1946) the ENIAC was the first general-purpose, reprogrammable Turing-compatible digital computer. It was over one thousand times faster than the electromechanical calculating devices it replaced; making it perhaps the largest leap in power in computing history.
==Character details==
===General===
ENIAC-tan is one of the earliest computer-tans, created in-universe as an artificial human using was then largely untested technology, she was chronically sickly, mentally unstable, suffered from anterograde amnesia, and always needed staff to look after her. Despite her shortcomings, she was a mathematician created to do mathematical work too difficult for humans to do, and worked for the US Army in WWII.

Her hair and outfit are all solid black; her outfits are elaborate Greco-Roman style decorated with black jewels, her hair is braided and veiled. She has many rings on each of her fingers, she used the rings as her own counting system, but also has a love for gaudy jewelry. Her dresses are so elaborate that mice have been known to nest in them, and she needs help from her staff to shoo them away. Another quirk of hers as such an early computer-tan is that she uses decimal instead of binary.
Physically, ENIAC-tan is depicted as a rather tall, dark-complexioned woman. Many computer-tans of her generation had short lifespans; some 5 years or less; they after their purpose was served by their creators, their hardware decommissioned. ENIAC-tan lived relatively long, being born in 1943, and died in 1955 from a lightning strike.

===Relationships and family===
Because of her status as one of the first computer-tans, ENIAC-tan had few computer peers with whom she could socialize. She is notable for having a near-entirely female staff of programmers and operators, a rather rare situation in her day (or any time period, for that matter).
ENIAC-tan left no direct descendants, although it is said that [[Whirlwind]]-tan's creation was loosely inspired by her.
