SuSE Linux is a distribution by the SuSE GmbH, which was acquired by Novell a while ago. The mascot of the company was the chameleon Geeko, and so SuSE-tan is the only chameleongirl among the OS-tans, which means she is always drawn with a green tail. Her clothes are always green, because not only the mascot has that color but also the standard setting of the distribution used to use it intensively.
