Windows 2.0-tan (2.0たん) is one of the least common Windows personifications. She personifies Windows 2.0, which was a version of the Microsoft Windows graphical user interface-based operating environment that superseded Windows 1.0. It was Microsoft's second attempt to implement a multi-tasking graphical user interface-based operating environment on the PC platform.
Released 1987, Windows 2.0 was the second release of the Microsoft Windows line. While it offered improvements over its predecessor, it was still quite rudimentary and incomplete.

Despite the popularity of Windows-based OS-tans, there are considerably few renditions of Windows OSes prior to version 3.1.  One possible reason for this omission can be traced to the perception of Windows 3.1 as marking the beginning of Microsoft Windows' rise to dominance (hence, the origin of the Windows family), and thus delegating versions 1.0 and 2.0 as simply younger facets of the more memorable version 3.1.  Therefore, only a handful of designs that can be confirmed by OSC to exist, all of which share similar-enough traits to be considered as a single character rendition.
Physical
Windows 2.0-tan is depicted as a young girl with blue eyes, short, hime-cut black hair with two long locks and bangs. She wears a blue and white school uniform with lavender socks and black shoes, and a white headband whose ends have been tied in the shape of "2.0".

Windows 2.0-tan, the daughter of Windows 1.0-tan, is depicted as a young girl of about 7 or 8 years old but uncharacteristically-skilled in masonry (a reference to her setting the foundation for Microsoft's future success). She has bright blue eyes, short black hair, and wears a large white hairband tied in the front with ends in the shape of a 2.0.  She wears a simple blue grade-school uniform with long lavender socks and black strapped shoes, and given her masonry profession she can also be seen wearing orange rawhide gloves.
She is often depicted with leather gloves, tools, scuffs and dirt, reflecting her role as a stone-mason.

Unlike Windows 1.0-tan, 2.0-tan has a level of maturity that belies her physical age, and is fully aware of her surroundings as well as the actions and intents of others.  Nearly all but Windows 3.1-tan are unaware of her existence, yet Windows 2.0-tan has the most reliable and complete knowledge of the true Windows family tree -- surpassing even the recollections of MSDOS-tan, PCDOS-tan and OS/2-tan given her former favorable position with Father.  Her exile, along with her mother 1.0-tan, were in part due to her unwillingness (and technical inability) to adapt to the aggressive tactics commonplace during the commercial OS Wars.  This banishment, preceded by the original dissolution of her IBM/Microsoft family and followed by years of hardship as a Wanderer, have done little to affect her shy and demure disposition, but have done irreparable damage to her trusting spirit and optimistic outlook on life.  By all accounts, the present-day Windows 2.0-tan can be accurately described as psychologically-scarred.
Personality
2.0-tan is sensitive, shy and mature beyond her years. Though she had a trusting personality and cheery outlook earlier in life, she is now mistrustful and perpetually melancholy.

She and her mother 1.0-tan currently reside with other Vintage OS-tans, far away from their legitimate family.  She works hard to become a valuable and loyal member of this newfound family, albeit often at the cost of her health.
She deals with trauma from the breakup of her family and her subsequent exile, manifesting in bouts of sleepwalking and night terrors.

History and Background
*List of OS-tans
2.0-tan was born into the old MS-IBM family and lived a carefree childhood, getting into mischief and playfully facing off against rival Mac gangs. She was loved and cared for by her mother 1.0-tan and the family maid Xenix-tan. She was especially close with her older stepsister OS/2-tan, who initially pitied 2.0-tan but came to respect her as a peer, going as far as making a pact to stay with each other no matter what.
*Windows 1.0

Her idealism was damaged after Xenix-tan left, the official line that she'd retired suddenly not matching with OS/2-tan's eyewitness account of the event. However, her doubts were assuaged by the birth of Windows 3.1-tan, and her new role as big sister, even as she drifted away from OS/2-tan because of the latter's rigorous training. 2.0-tan didn't realize that 3.1-tan was being trained to replace OS/2-tan, although OS/2-tan had suspicions.

Any remaining illusions were broken when the family was suddenly and acrimoniously split into separate IBM and MS factions. OS/2-tan tried to give 2.0-tan instructions, but was taken away before she could. While 1.0-tan and 2.0-tan remained with the family for several years afterward, they were eventually banished.

Notes
* Angelica (Gunslinger Girl) is cited as an inspiration for Windows 2.0-tan.
