Technical Details

Windows XP Professional Edition and Windows XP Home Edition were released together in 2001. It succeeded Windows 2000 and Windows ME and provided improvements to certain features, such as improved Encryption, and introduced new features, such as a new, more user-friendly GUI, faster boot time, hardware support improvements, Remote Desktop, new accessories and games, improved accessibility for disabled users, new system management utilities, handwriting recognition, Driver Rollback, expanded languages, and more.

XP was succeeded by Windows Vista in 2007, but XP proved to be so popular that most people either switched back or continued to use it. Microsoft released service packs for XP starting in 2002, and XP's support was extended to 2014.

Personifications Details

The personifications of the Windows XP Operating System vary based on the versions of Windows XP. The first such variation is XP-tan, also known as Saseko, the female personification of the Professional version of Windows XP. The second variation is Homeko, the female personification of the Home version of Windows XP. The third variation is XP-kun, the male personification of the Professional version of Windows XP. The fourth variation is Homeo, the male personification of the Home version of Windows XP. The fifth variation is XPME-tan, the female personification of the Media Center version of Windows XP. The sixth variation is Komepo, the American female personification of Windows XP Professional.
