In other news: I may have formulated a plan for my life whilst traveling the Connecticut River Valley today.
1. Hold off on college until I have the means to live on my own
2. Move to Boston
3. Find a college that ACTUALLY. HAS. SOMETHING. I. WANT. TO. STUDY.
4. Study something I'm interested in (gender studies/women's studies; something in the New England heritage studies field; maybe fit mathematics in there somehow?)
5. ???????
6. DON'T PROFIT! (Really, there's no profitable job you can get with a degree in one of the fields I just mentioned; but I'll at least be moderately happy?)

with gender studies you might be able to go into psychiatry, social work, or maybe sociology. :3

also, i wanted to move to boston eventually, so you could come live with me. i was gonna go for some random apartment above a chinese restaurant. gonna buy some tatami mats (i found a place that sells them!!) and build a kotatsu and everything. -w-

If I took all hopes for prestige and money-making off the table: I think I could pursue working in a museum/being a curator. Working in a quiet, climate-controlled environment, surrounded by old things, acquiring and/or working with rare artifacts... that sounds like it would be my idea of fun... :|
