That's why I don't have any intention of becoming a teacher.  There's no way I want to have to deal with kids in a formal educational setting other then as a guest speaker/presenter which is basically like being the class' cool uncle.

Some states offer scholarships in-state.  West Virginia will send you to any state school for free if your high school grades are good enough.

That's a good way to go. In fact, it's the best way to go. I believe in choices myself. I also hate it when teachers do that, I get the feeling my teachers are doing it. >_>

I'm talking about the 21st Century Scholars Scholarship, which basically means that the state of Indiana pays for your tuition for a college in Indiana if, basically, you get good grades in high school, keep out of trouble, and were poor (defined basically as having free or reduced prices for lunch) during your middle school years. I am/was all three of those.

@bad teachers: For me, it's not just teachers; it's most people in any sort of position of power over me. While I have had some good teachers, bosses, etc., I have resentment toward many of them because they think I'm just some shithead >_>;

So, today got off to a godawful start. Somehow I was both late for work (By 2 minutes, but my boss made it out to be that I was several hours late) and too early at the same time (Personal department called my boss and told her that they "talked to me" about how I wasn't supposed to be in for another 30 minutes because I went over in hours last Saturday, and although the bit on them talking to me was a mistake, my boss refused to believe me because she assumes I'm a retard with the memory of a goldfish just because I don't do well under pressure and often get scatterbrained because of getting bombarded with customers from every angle). In fact, when the personal department made another mistake, on how many hours I was over, the boss once again blamed me (They called her up to tell her about how much time I was over, and they somehow messed it up and said I had like 90 minutes when I only had 20 over, but this was my fault...and I heard her via the speakerphone say something to the extent of "I swear, that boy is an idiot" before the lady in personal noticed I was standing there and switched back to the handset.

So, at least I know how that bitch really feels about me. Hopefully I can get out of there as quickly as possible, before I snap :\

The rest of the day was alright; besides teaming up with a cart pusher to help this really old person with a phone (He and I were both getting frustrated trying to explain everything to this person, but somehow we got it straightened out).

homeschool can definitely cause a mental disorder, not diagnosable per se, but look at me, homeschooled till pretty much 9th grade and had shit social skills all my life until now

homeschool itself isn't a disorder, but it can cause a host of them, depending on how the parent deals with it. social isolation in any form can lead to disorders, and homeschool is a breeding ground for isolation, even if it's unintentional.

@stew, kodomo: i'm mostly going to become a teacher because it's steady employment. it was either this or social work, and i'm depressed enough already without adding other peoples' problems to my plate.

tbh whether i intend to or not i'm likely going to become a beatnik teacher. i'm hoping to get in somewhere at a cushy private school (the catch is finding a non-religious one that won't force me to live there), but even public schools don't mind sometimes when teachers stray off the beaten path a bit. i had plenty of kickass, unorthodox teachers in high school, and i had bitchy, uninterested teachers who really didn't want to be there. an enthusiastic but weird teacher won't shake too many people up, especially with the credentials i hope to achieve.

and if that gets my ass kicked maybe i'll teach college. i don't really want to, though.

@scholarships: ah, i didn't know that. it wouldn't have mattered in my case, since of the only art schools in the state, one is only for summer workshops, one closed years ago, and the last one sucks balls.

The Windows Phone Evernote app is kinda shit (the android app was awesome). So I'm going back to OneNote. The Windows 8.1 app is kickass and the only app I used with regularity on my desktop. Hopefully the phone is the same way.
