Quote from: Bella on July 08, 2025, 11:55:53 PMOkay, now I want to imagine Whirlwind-tan going through a rebellious teen period after she got kicked out (??) of the WAVES but before she became an air force consultant, or whatever her job description was (*adds to list of questions*), and not *just* because it'd give me a reason to draw her as a sukeban.
Then I did my job. ^__^
Okay now you have to at least sketch that.

Quote from: Bella on July 08, 2025, 11:55:53 PMPoor ENIAC-tan, imagine having to deal with IAS-tan's shenanigans for the next 80 years with no end in sight. And the shenanigans of her billions of grandkids. Plus a few more soon, hopefully!
Their struggle will be eternal!

Quote from: Bella on July 08, 2025, 11:55:53 PMI'm implying that now that Whirlwind-tan is alive ("alive"?) she can kill SAGE-tan. Presumably by showing her the undivided love and attention she's been after for the last 70 years, obliterating her on the spot from sheer overjoy.
She'd never disappoint her mom like that.

There are so many of them, where will you find the room?

Oh trust me.. there are.. problems.  Like, being a foodie the.. selection of places to eat out here are terrible.  Mostly variations on the same standard family diner specials or the same mundanes  food chains.Man.. I miss Popeyes, or Sonic, Raising Canes, Pot Belly, etc

.. we have a  Mcdonalds, and a Dairy Queen. half an hour either direction to get  say.. kfc, or Arbys. and those are the 'exciting' options.  My only savior in fast food is we have a Culvers nearby.

Access to certain box stores too is an issue. I took for granted some of the ones that in any major population center it would likely be 5 minutes down the road in either direction.  Your options are.. Walmart.

So.. Peace and Quiet and affordable house, but the cost is convenience and variety.

I'm also curious what the MBTA computerization effort looked like!

I look forward to more LGP-30-tan lore! And additional IAS-tans, I knew we didn't find them all. (Speaking of which, did you ever think about making a FLAC-tan? I took a stab at a design but it was very meh.)

Quote from: stewartsage on July 08, 2025, 08:13:15 PMI've come to the conclusion that DEC and CDC are spectacularly competent with their businesses compared to BBN, who may just be the Apperture Science of Massachusetts computer companies.

How much do I need to pay you for Selectric-kun "The wrong OS-tan in the right place can make all the difference." mode?

Those are both getting added to the next sketch page.

Glad you found a place you enjoy Capt'!

Quote from: stewartsage on July 08, 2025, 07:47:24 PMI have escaped the corn, but the punishment is living in metro DC which is.  Alright.

I enjoy it, minus the traffic & costs... I think living in the city has spoiled me, I dunno I can go back to the countryside. T_T

Quote from: stewartsage on July 08, 2025, 07:42:44 PMIt's funny to imagine Whirlwind-sama being a disruptive feral child like PDP-1-tan.  Maybe when she was getting swapped back and forth between services?

Okay, now I want to imagine Whirlwind-tan going through a rebellious teen period after she got kicked out (??) of the WAVES but before she became an air force consultant, or whatever her job description was (*adds to list of questions*), and not *just* because it'd give me a reason to draw her as a sukeban.

Quote from: stewartsage on July 08, 2025, 07:42:44 PMBBNTSS-tan looks properly miserable.
Then I did my job. ^__^

Quote from: stewartsage on July 08, 2025, 07:42:44 PMMan, your shitposts are great.  Being ENIAC-sama is suffering.  At least she looks cute in the maid frills!  There are so many IASes...  May have found more step-kids?  Grandkids?  Not sure how to categorize them, but they may show up in my thread eventually.

Poor ENIAC-tan, imagine having to deal with IAS-tan's shenanigans for the next 80 years with no end in sight. And the shenanigans of her billions of grandkids. Plus a few more soon, hopefully!

Quote from: Bella on July 02, 2025, 11:15:54 PMI'm not separating that all out again.

I've come to the conclusion that DEC and CDC are spectacularly competent with their businesses compared to BBN, who may just be the Apperture Science of Massachusetts computer companies.  In all fairness it wasn't their primary business.  Or well, it didn't end up being their business.  Although they also contributed to MUMPS as well!

Whereas I just ignored a lot of the distinctions I probably should've paid attention to, strictly speaking.

Ahhh, okay.  LGP-30-sama is probably going to be more of an expansion than a proper revision.  Probably get around to her after developing the Japanese IAS derivatives I've been reading about.

That feels like occult DEC beliefs.

I wonder when the MBTA started computerizing their systems and how...  Something to look into!

They originally were, but a conservation group got Grumman to donate the last batch waiting the torch to become artificial reef material.
