What's in your hand, back at me. I have it, it's an oyster with two figures of your favorite Touhou characters. Look again, the figures are now vials of the Hourai Elixir. Anything is possible when your waifu smells like Old World and not a man. I'm a frog.

Basically when the human characters battle using monsters/robots/cards, so we're talking Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh kind of shit

Exa

I did follow Cardfight Vanguard and Future Card Buddyfight for a while, you might check them out if you want some more card battling anime if you haven't tried them already.

Teachers who can't teach worth shit. Those are hell on earth.

Why they're hell on earth (has very personal story inside):
Spoiler: ShowHide
After encountering one of these last year, I became literally afraid to take foreign language courses. It got to the point where I'd skip class whenever the opportunity presented itself (which was fairly often, as I was recovering from a pilonidal cyst surgery for a good part of the previous school year) and because she was so bad at teaching, I became ineligible for the honors diploma. Honestly, I thought her shitty teaching fucked my chances of being considered for NHS.

She was also a shitty person too. She often mentioned (as if it were no big deal) that she almost ran over a student.

And she was really shitty to me in particular, because I dislike being forced to choose the people I work with in a group, and she did that all the fucking time. She even said that she wanted to say bad things to my face (because I angrily called her a bad teacher to her face, not nice but I was sick of being nice to that shitstain), but didn't because she liked her job. I am 1000% certain that she wanted to call me "retarded," as a huge part of the reason why I hate hate groups and group work is because I am on the autism spectrum (to be more precise, I have Asperger's, but I personally dislike the terms that derive from it) which I am supposed to receive accommodations for (which I rarely do because, for the most part, I don't need them, but I needed them for that class because the teacher is, guess what, shitty) but she failed to provide them. She also said that ADHD doesn't exist, which I strongly disagree with (and if I didn't want , and my mom does too, as she said that it pissed her off when I mentioned the shitty teacher said that. After that, I knew she hated me for the fact that I'm autistic.

I was done with her by the time I began to post here though. And now she no longer teaches at my school (whether she quit or she was fired is another story and it probably was the latter)

Even thinking about this angers me to no end however. I'm just thankful that there was a happy ending.

idk if it's any consolation, but i'm making it one of my life's dreams to be the most kickass teacher ever.

and there's a chance i'm going to teach Art, English, and possibly foriegn languages. (i'm hoping to someday know English, Japanese, Russian, and Korean.)

i hope you've picked a college with adequate faculties for dealing with autistic and asperger's issues. a couple of my friends (including one of my best friends) have asperger's (and i actually thought i had it for awhile, but i think i'm likely just extremely socially awkward), and i know at least one of them had teachers that understood their condition at college, but most of them didn't (the two teachers in question that did, one had a background in psychology and the other was a social worker in the past).

as for ADHD, i agree that it DOES exist, but i also think it's WIDELY over-diagnosed.

Let's just hope they're within driving range. My parents expect me to drive to college (and I doubt I'll be as lucky as Cockle when it comes to single dorms anyways), and I have to attend an in-state college for a scholarship to take affect.

Also, I use accommodations so rarely that the school usually has to force me to use them, despite that my mom has said several times that they're there in case I need them, which is very rarely (last year was probably the first time in three years since I actually needed to use accommodations, and probably the first time since elementary school, if not ever, I used them as extensively as I did).

And that teacher was just shit. I normally get on very very well with teachers. So far, she's the only teacher I actively disliked. Before last year, it was hard for me to choose a least favourite teacher because all of them were awesome. Really, as long as you're not that bad, you'll be fine. I seriously seriously doubt you will be, however.

For the record, in my second semester of that same year, I had a very kickass teacher who also put emphasis on group work, but she also understood the plight of introverted students like me (she once said that when she was my age she strongly preferred working alone, and at the beginning of the semester she mentioned that the emphasis, as well as her approach, on group work was for practical reasons). She picked the groups from day one and stuck with them unless she said otherwise, and when she said otherwise, she allowed students to work alone, no exceptions. She became one of my favourite teachers because of her different approach to group work compared to the shitty teacher. It helps that she's also a great person, though.

However, what I define as a good teacher tends to not be the same as most people's. Most of my favourite teachers are the ones nobody likes (the teacher that I mentioned earlier is actually one that many of my peers liked if I recall correctly, but I think that I have heard horror stories about her in my freshman year).

Chocofreak13

i think i'll emphasize a student's right to choose, as some people work better in groups, but i GREATLY prefer working alone. i'll tell them to weigh the benefits and the drawbacks of each and also tell them that if they just form a group with their friends, goof off, and their work comes out shitty, they'll all get failing grades and won't be able to form that specific group again. for some heavier projects, some kids find it easier to split the work, especially if they have other heavy classes. a serious pet peeve of mine was when a teacher acted like a student had LITERALLY NOTHING ELSE going on besides that class. >>;;

that said, what scholarship are you talking about, man? is it state-sponsored, or maybe your high school sponsored it? cause i went out of state and i still got a scholarship from my school. :\

unrelated to everything: so i'm likely going to be pirating a book, lol.
