And if you try it bella, keep in mind touhou is one of those games where you are suppose to loose.. ALOT. its a memory and practice game.   One of the nice features of Imperishable Night is spellcard practice, a feature alot of the games dont have. Most of the games allow you to go into practice mode to skip right to the stage you need to practice, but IN also lets you practice on any spell card you manage to capture.  It also has something called last word spell cards, which are unlockables that let you play one special spell card for every character in the game including the playable characters.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utGmwWVq-ck here is a good video to show you what to expect.. this is only stage 4 of 6 on lunatic difficulty.

Yeaaaah, the insane level of difficulty is what makes me hesitant to try it... I have a pretty short attention span for games as it is. Though I still want to give it a shot (even with the knowledge that I'll do terribly/not be able to advance) just so I can say I've played it. ^^;;;;

I also have a terrible attention span for gaming, and for a long time I was too intimidated to play Touhou because of the notion of losing a lot. But when I tried it, I became hooked right away! Amazingly, the friend who introduced me to Touhou was surprised I liked it at all, let alone liked it right away.

Turns out that Touhou appeals to me because it's fast paced and easy to pick up. My limited attention span likes those kind of games. Memorizing patterns is just one part of the game play, quick thinking in advance is another.

Just today, I played Undefined Fantastic Object for... I think it was the second or third time, and I got to the third boss on normal difficulty. However I can't defeat her. I'm stumped. x_x

Last night I cleared Lotus Land Story and Mystic Square for the first time, though I got the bad endings because I used continues. Oh well, I'm glad I was able to beat the final boss and get to the end. :P

I'll fourth or fifth what the others said, Captain- nice Touhou plushie collection! At the next anime con I go to, I'm gonna remember to buy some Touhou stuff!

Chocofreak13

there's always the internet. ^^ that's where most of my plushies have come from.

guys, does having enough manga in your collection to host a con's manga library count here?

CaptBrenden

well exactly aroura, touhou is hard, but its a fun hard.

Hey choco, any tips for sewing small peices of fabric on a sewing machine?  I was thinking of pinning it to a larger peice of tissue paper that i could tear away after im done, otherwise it jams the fabric into the feedplate on my sewing machine.

that sounds like a good idea. though you'll have to be careful that the paper isn't sucked into the feedplate as well. when i had trouble with smaller things, i'd just hold it really tightly so it wouldn't move. considering the needle only goes up and down, you can avoid it pretty easy. having the foot down firmly also helps.

also, since i never had any problems with fabric getting caught in the machine (thread yes, fabric no), are you sure that the plate is in securely? or the right way? i think i put mine in backwards once and it was annoying as hell. >>;

if you have any more problems, it might be better just to hand sew it. :\ if you're careful and precise, it'll be just like machine stitching. (i use a loopstitch for extra security, but idk what works for you.)

CaptBrenden

well i havent tried to do it on my newest sewing machine, my old one had a pretty decent gap between the teeth and the plate and it would push fabric into it. my nice 900 dollar embroidery machine might not have that problem.

holy shit, you spent $900 on an embroidery machine? *____*;;;;

that said, if it has less of a gap, i'd try it there. maybe it'll help. :\

CaptBrenden

well yeah ... thats a cheap one. I want this nice 8000 dollar model ive been looking at.  I also spent 700 on a program that lets me create embroidery patterns so I can make patches and such as a side buisness.

CaptBrenden

xD mine was a buisness expense and i wrote it off as such, I can also write off my second room as a home office.  If the BF moves in it will also be our art studio

ahh. my mum received mine as a christmas gift in about 85' or 86', after she told my dad multiple times that she DID NOT WANT A SEWING MACHINE. :\
so when i started sewing class at the high school, she let me have it.

that said, have you tried sewing it yet?
