Just noticed that a wisdom tooth is starting to come out... I really hope there are no complications, else I gotta go to the dentist and have it removed >> and that hurts :/
Combine that with my really really HUGE fear of dentists and the outcome look even worse T_T

My wisdom teeth have been coming through for a few years, but I can't get them removed for medical reasons.

I can sympathize with you... I too am deathly afraid of dental work (though not dentists now that I visit a competent, non-profiteering doctor) and my right bottom wisdom tooth is partially emerged. The dentist says it's coming in straight and that my jaw should have enough for it to fit...

Hopefully we'll both be lucky in this respect, since I DO NOT WANT DENTAL SURGERY AND DO NOT WANT TO HEAR MORE HORROR STORIES ABOUT FRIENDS GOING THROUGH IT. Of course I don't want any surgery, but somehow the thought of having a doctor rooting around in my abdomen or chest is less disturbing than one working in my mouth... this coming from someone who's most intrusive dental procedure thus far has been a filling, and most invasive medical procedure a blood draw. (And as far as serious illnesses go, I've had pneumonia twice, but have never required hospitalization nor any medications stronger than antibiotics and fever-reducer. The heaviest [and only] painkiller I've ever used/use is ibuprofen.)

It's also worth noting that the idea of removing wisdom teeth simply because they're there is one novel to western society; in much of the world, they're left in unless a problem arises. (I'm strongly in the camp of people who believe everything and every function in the body - no matter how seemingly irrelevant or even annoying - has a use, and that nothing should be removed or altered unless it's a matter of dire necessity.)
