No, I'm not working on Photoshop right now. Still, I got a good idea for a drawing today at school, but still on doodle stage. No, not OS related.

ha! finally got some free time! (this weekend, duh...).
Finally finished watching Starship Operators, REC, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha (good, even when its not my kind of show)!!!. Still have to finish Nanoha's A's, Jinki Extend, Tokyo Underground, Rozen Maiden Traumend...

I have to say I dont like em.   None of them ever match the mood/theam/feel/personality of the aircraft they represent.  and then.. they randomly put cat ears on them...? why?


that seems really odd to me, as I grew up in a WWII aircraft hanger crawling around on b17's and such.  I love WWII aircraft, hell aircraft over all, and I adore cat girls, and of course im obsesed with anime.. but the combination of the three... just fails.

hehe... sounds like a challenge to me. How bout WE make it not fail?  Surely we can somehow pull it off.  Weaponry, speed, maneuverability, stability, ceilings... lots of stuff to base physical characteristics on.  After that's done, then we put on the accessories. ^^

Im working on a quick sketch for it.. but i dont know if ill get it done before we get off this page. I was gonna have 3.1 eating delicios cake with xp tied up struggling desperatly in the background.

I didnt just mean physical characteristics Sleepy, I also ment personality.  What they are known for and such so that someone that knows that aircraft can appriciate it!  Thats what attracted me to the OS tans, that they are based off what people view those systems as!  Me being troublesome, 3.1 lacking expresion, xps hunger, the reliableness of 2k!  The same thing applys to some of the other sucsesful tans out there, like in the aftganus-tan comic, they nailed Merican's personality on the head, with the whole richest kid on her block with a superhero obsession, has good intentions but often belives her form of justice is right for everyone.  That actually sums up the "personality" of america in the political arena pretty good.  Being a US servicman I had an appricaiation for the thought put into it.  But I am alos an aircraft nut and ive seen none of that deep thought put into any of these aircraft tans.  

I say again.. EARS! and tails!  WTF over?  Like a aircraft tan based on an A-10 would have to be a fighter, a tom girl that lights to get rough with they guys and can hold her own in a fight and packs one mean punch! Why?  Cus a-10's are low flying tank killing infantry supporters.  She wants to be in the fight with the guys,  A-10s are also known for being able to take UNGODLY amounts of damage and still fly, so I can imagin her looking kinda dirty with a bandaid here or there.  and its also known for that 20mm cannon and the fire power it carrys, that punch that could send even the toughest of guys flying!

but the current aircraft tans lack that.  they are just cute girls with aircraft bits slapped on them, some necko mimi and guns.  nothing gives them personality that draws you to them like the tans.  there is no substance!

3.1-tan eating cake while XP-tan is tied up? I'd definantely like to see that!  ;010  BTW, did you see the colored version of the 3.1-tan + 3.2-tan picture I drew? ^^

I also strongly agree with your opinion on Mecha Musume. It's just doesn't have the charm and substance the OS-tans have! The OS-tan artists, whethey they be from Futaba, Nijiura, these forums or another corner of the interwebs put a good amount of thought into making OS-tans but Mecha Musume can't compete with that. I've seen some good aircraft-tans but most military equipment-tans seem randomly put together.

Update 3.7653:
Still can't get my laptop up for very long. Got it up to the log in screen before it collapsed...I suppose it's somewhat of an improvement...um...Been drawing more then just dragons...like a Lich, finished my anime avatar and now working on my human avatars of Helvox ' Fentel and Uthantion.

This weekend I'll upload them here, and try once again to use my laptop...and fail miserably in the process...

The good news? My sister can vaugely tell the OS-tan girls from other anime girls and sends me them...of course I can't open them atm...but she has sent me a few firefox pics...No I will under no circumstances let her join here...I have enough problems without my sister having actuall proof that I am a pervert by visiting this site as well...

I know what you mean. BTW, I also like Afganis-tan! In my perfect view of the world, all history teachers should be teaching using the comics!
