Hm, I'm pretty sure Five-Sevens are still manufactured.
After all, several special forces and police departments around the world use them.
However, it's a niche market gun because of its unusual cartridge.

Also, "cop killer" is a stupid name to call it. Its just a word made up by media that's scared of its body "armor penetrating assault rifle" cartridge.
In reality, common street thugs cant afford these kind of guns, as they are quite expensive, especially the ammunition.

Anyways, usually the "Armor Penetration" feature comes from special bullet types, usually ones with steel/wolfram cores. These are expensive and arent for public use, because civilians simply dont have any use for them.

Also even if one had carrying licence, a FN Five-seven is a poor choice for self-defence purposes.

All I have to add is that while the Five-seveN is still produced and is available in the US (despite a push to ban it twice), but as VonDaab said it's expensive.  And popular with the Mexican drug cartels despite that. For me, all I want is a Smith & Wesson Model 15.  Though I wouldn't say no to a Model 58.

In other news, the turkey company didn't hire me.  Toured the hatchery, spoke to the manager, and then they called today and said they weren't going to hire me.

But I do have an appointment Tuesday at 12:30 PM to see the TRS-80.

I once tried to buy a C64 online... but I couldn't quite work up the nerve to spend $100 on a computer without test-driving it first so to speak. Then there was that MicroVAX... it was even in my state... but it's hard to get people to help you fund a $900 minicomputer. D:

I'm going to try to buy that Win3.1 box on Monday, though. That is, if I can test it out first and confirm that it works...

I'm happy to announce that I finally have a laptop to use this summer: DY's now running XP Pro, has wireless and touchpad drivers and runs generally well. I still haven't been able to get the sound drivers to work, though, so I'm a bit sad about that. ;;
