I went to Boston today!!!!! Gweeehehe!!!! I literally wandered the downtown, WANDERED, the family kinda broke up and everyone went their separate way and I decided to pick a direction and WALK and take pictures and gawk at the architecture and visit historical sites and generally mingle with the locals AND OMG IT WAS SO MUCH FUN. We met up eventually, drove over to the Navy Yaaaaahd and tawed the USS Constitution and stuff. I tried to get to Cambridge, but the folks wanted to avoid traffic so we had to leave early. D:

Dad now wants to try selling his photos at that Friday Art Festival they hold near Filene's basement; that would be wicked, because, y'know, I'd get to work in Boston one day a week. :V

EXCEPT NOW I AM OVERTIRED AND OVERSTIMULATED. Seriously, this was my first time walking around a *major* city since I visited NYC in 2004. And NYC, honest to god, was a million times less interesting. Maybe not less interesting, but let's say Boston is a lot more... magical. That's the only word I can use to describe it. :,)

anyhoo, it's not too big a deal to me, is all. if we end up meeting up i'll take ya to TEH PROMISED LAND of boston or something.

so guys, lewis black says the end of the universe is in houston, texas. so apparently the entire universe is contained within the area between texas and massahusettes (roughly).

edit: my dad actually pulled a nice gesture, which is pretty rare: he gave me one of the pieces of my grandma's jewlery. it's a Samish Ring (made by a group of reindeer-herding scandinavian nomads called the Sams.) This one in particular was made around Enköping (we assume) and made in 1898. ^^

Yeah, yeah, I did the lame touristy things I know. But, seeing as I've really never explored the city before, I think I'm entitled to it. >:\

Promised land or not, that place radiates good energy... or something... I can't put my finger on it. It's like really energized, but laid-back at the same time (I've noticed the same thing on the Cape). At any rate, the happiest times during my travels are usually spent in Mass. ^^

Now that's a graduation present.

Had to go to my old high school's gradjeation because my brother plays in the band.  Saw my best friend for the first time in like a year, had a good time.  Except that traffic was terrible, plus the dude who had the music for my brother's part in Pomp and Circumstance didn't show.... so he couldn't play.

Also, I'm still kinda down about the Stanley Cup.  Thankfully I don't know any Blackhawks fans and don't really have a grudge against the 'hawks anyway.  So, I suppose congrats to them as well.

ebay is STOOPID.
but on the bright side, i'm planning on things for college furnishings! there's a lovely mini fridge/freezer combo i saw at home desperate for $200 (which isn';t too bad given what it is and how big) and a japanese futon ($175 for a twin. :3)

IN THE NOW: Demon Overlord was hit by a van while biking home from work. Just a few bruises, a tiny bump on the van and a broken wheel on my bike, but hell if it's not gonna be less of a bother with all insurance shit and whatnot that's gonna be pulled in for this shit... -_-
