Well, I've heard all sort of "nice" things about that island...

Some people even calling it a "big floating museum, where nothing ever changes"

And its going to be interesting to see if the food is actually as bad as people have been telling me.

Yep, it's just a dirty city all right. -w-

As for the floating museum thing, I suppose it's true - however, the museum is just about CLOSED at all times when it's not summer, and when summer comes, so does about half of Stockholm. Seriously.

Anyways, this damn island life is taking its toll - if you've somehow failed to notice this by now - I just spent around an hour and a half talking and gaming with my clone in MN (who's coming home in two weeks) and when our conversation is over and the Skype window closes, I feel so damn lonely. I get a premonition of a boon in my social life upon my homecoming, just because I'm tired of secluding myself ;_;

In any case, a few golden words from this bright young man:
Quote from: "Jiyon"If you want to taste the best seafood in the world, you can go about it in two ways. Either you find a really expensive restaurant with a French-sounding name; dress up, hold in your belly and pull out your wallet. Or you can strap on a backpack, walk until your legs hurt and then sit down on a rock and crack open a can of tuna.
All you hiker-peoples, jot this down, for this man knows his stuff. -w-

O, Norway, land of the hurtigrut and the silliest-sounding language in the world.

The over-obviousness of this repulsiveness, however...
This man is clearly in it for the lulz.

I FINALLY UPLOADED DISNEYLAND FIREWORKS VIDEO IN MY BLOG.

FINALLY!!!
My my, aren't you lovely~

I imagine Boston as pretty much a giant combination of Richmond and Norfolk, but with more exotic allure.

I miss K-On! sooooooooooooooooooooo much I can't adaquetly explain it.

Bella

@Nejin: Are you on that island from Lost, Nej?! YOU CAN'T EVER LEAVE, THE ISLAND WANTS YOU, YOU HAVE TO GO BAAAAACK~ :V

@VonDaab: Good luck on the move sir. ^^

@Stew: Your mom sounds like my dad! Except you mom has the excuse of distance... >.>

There might be a typewriter in my future, there might not. *continues to wring hands*

That! That's what he was talking about, a gun computer! I'm trying to dig up some info on them right now...

I don't know about Richmond and Norfolk (or Norfork, in Bostonian), but Boston is full of magic and huge terrifying claustaphobia-inducing tunnel systems from HELL and the friendliest curiousest talkiest people you'll ever meet who really aren't that "bad" of drivers, they're just CRAZY BEHIND THE WHEEEEEEL. No, Boston isn't exotic, Richmond and Norfork are! :V

K-On, i really should get back to watching that. D:

@Kari: aren't little hair buns like big hair buns on a smaller scale...?

All that's in the house is dayquil: Chest Congestion Edition. I HAVE DAMN NASAL CONGESTION DAMMIT YOU USELESS MEDICINE. DX

Because Boston is the hub of the universe? I wanna go to Providence too, maybe this summer, maybe...

That misogynist wannabe rapist dude is the vilest slime I've encountered on the Internets, he deserves to be thrown into prison and made some guy's personal bitch. Although, he would probably enjoy getting the action.

stewartsage

Yeeeah, pretty much it boils down to me having to go by myself if ever.

Well, I can help to an extent....

Naw-fuc is a pretty typical variation down here (and a common reaction to actually going there).  Richmond has.... Arthur Ash!  And the State Capital!  And a really cool giant TV/Radio attenae, and um, violent crime?  I suppose there's a certain allure to Norfolk if you like shipbuilding or beaches (nearby, not the actual city beaches)

I just want to read it, the managa's in the girl's last year and now they've cut it off ;_;

Chocofreak13

wow, violent crime. sounds like a GREAT reason to go there.
of course, this saturday i'm taking the SAT in a town infamous for VIOLENT CRIME or something like that.......it's not as bad as some other towns.....

@bella&stew: YOU GUIZE, SRSLY. SRSLY. YOU GUIZE. WILL TAKES YOU TO BOSTON. WILL TAKES TO TO INTERESTING PLACES IN BOSTON WHERE THE ANIME AND TIM CURRY HIDES.

and bella, i originally went to providence cause an anime girl on tv said i could get famous. but it was a bunch of paper-worky money-grubbing bullshit, so we went to the mall. IT'S 6 FLOORS AND CARPETED AND HAS A MOVIE THEATER AND DAVE & BUSTERS AND A CAR DEALERSHIP oWo

and an ikea. :3

and bell, if you does not get typewiter of awesome, there was one in an antiques store next to mah mum's work for 18 bucks, and that looked turn-of-the-century. we will get that for you. :3

So anyway, I'm back home now. And slightly less sick.

Who was it that's quoted with saying, "Installing OS/2 is hell?"  Oh yeah that was me. Because that FLUNKWUDDLING THING IS A PAIN IN THE ASS TO WORK WITH, ESPECIALLY IN VIRTUALBOX, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR DIMWITTERY MAKES INSTALLING ANYTHING THAT DOESN'T HAVE A BOOTABLE CD IMPOSSIBLE. It doesn't help that there are no instructions for installing the damned thing in virtualbox. ><;;;

Speaking of which, where the HELL is the internets hiding that fabled OS/2 Warp 4.5 bootable CD? I couldn't find hide nor hair of the thing, either for sale in legit form (like on Ebay) or for download from the more... questionable sources.

Chocofreak13

*pat pat* there, there...

Instructions from TPB OS/2 4.0 for VMWare (free ver):
QuoteHi everyone! Here we are in 2006, and I'm uploading OS/2 Warp, so most of you are probably trying to get this to work in VMware. Or maybe if you have some really old crappy computer you want to play with.

Before you get started, first read the Wikipedia article on OS/2, it's pretty good. It's where I found the trick to changing guestos in step 1 below. It's also good to get a feel for how old this really is.

To extract the ISO, the file is in 7zip format, so you can either use WinRAR or 7zip to extract it.

I got this working in VMWare Server (the free one), the rest of this text is related to VMware.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Os2

1. First you have to change the guestos type to an unsupported one that won't be in any menu, so choose DOS or something else, then after you make the VM, open up the .vmx file and change the guestos line to:

guestOS = "os2experimental"

2. This was made in the days before bootable CD's, so you have to get a boot floppy of some kind, just go to http://bootdisks.com and dos 6.22 works fine.

3. Run cdinst.bat, it will make 3 floppies, just make them as floppy images or something.

4. If you run DOS in a VM, you need dosidle.exe (google for it), I don't know about OS/2. Tt sends idle calls to the CPU, and makes it much less taxing on your system when idle.

And yes this is really the English version.

Dunno if that helps. And 4.5, you say? I'm searching.

SOUGHT AND FOUND torrents, with seeds (just 1 each, but still):
http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/110169185/OS+2+warp?tab=summary
http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/90432669/OS+2+warp?tab=summary

Might help some? Hope so.
TESTING RESULTS ARE IN: Bottom torrent yields no speeds, despite seeds, consists of 1 rar file with OS24.5eng or whatnot.
Top torrent currently running at a quite acceptable 30KB/s with ETA of 10 hours or so. The torrent says it's the OS/2 Server 4.52 CP2, but hell, I suppose that's fine too, isn't it?

Anyway. Good luck with this, and I'll see if I'm not gonna try this out when I get home as well. Ganbare~!
