Maybe minidress Multics is a box better left unopened.

Continuing my redeuxs, SSEC-tan, and Harvard Marks II, III & IV, the NYC socialite, automaton naval ordnance experts and real living girl/neoshaker of the Aiken Computer Expanded Universe.

Thank god for this old art that reminded me what Mks. II & III's color schemes are, ditto for SSEC. Mark IV was pretty much remade from scratch. Bios are forthcoming...

IAS Machine, SEAC & EXEC/UNIVAC I-tan at the sakura matsuri~

Figured the D.C. adjacent ladies should get a day out seeing the cherry blossoms. ^_^

Untrue entirely.

Ladies!  Mark III or SSEC may be my favorite designs, but Mark IV has my heart.  Poor outcast electronic sister.

Not a great year for it.  At least SEAC brought a camera.  Love the colors and the perspective.  IAS-sama's hair rocks!

It occurred to me at some point that Harvard Mark III may just be the asexual Houshou Marine. Everyone loves SSEC! (Excluding Harvard Mark I)

Harvard Mark IV is like if you taught a Shaker about aeronautical engineering. Certainly the weirdest addition to the Mark lineup, and the Greater Boston USAF Computer Cinematic universe. At least until I tackle MADDIDA or CADAC or whatever it is she goes by.

Speaking of which: Memory Test Computer!

Quote from: My TumblrMTC is the modified clone of, and purpose-built companion/support to, Whirlwind. She's essentially a scaled down Whirlwind, filled out and healthier compared to her (initially) perpetually-sickly mistress. Her personality is similar to Whirlwind's but more service-oriented and nurturing, especially toward Whirlwind, the object of her fixation.

Her gray dress is meant to be reminiscent of a nurses' or maid's uniform, and is outwardly plain. However, beneath its shell is a slip with colorful pleats, representing the different DEC PDP models (referring to MTC's role as forerunner to DEC). Like the computer itself, she looks unassuming but contains hidden potential.

Her hair is a blend of colors but looks gold-ginger at a distance. Her hairbow and gloves consist of fine netting, referring to the woven mesh of core memory.

She didn't live as long as Whirlwind, her heart eventually replacing Whirlwind's original, failing heart. (Representing MTC's core memory which replaced Whirlwind's faulty electrostatic memory.) She is the second "parent" of SAGE, PDP-1, and the rest of the PDP line, all of whom reflect aspects of both her and Whirlwind.
