Those are old photos. I set up a flat top grill and such in there. Its really relaxing to go out and cook outside, watch the fireflies listen to the crickets, see the wildlife out back do its thing. I also do my therapy sessions out there when the temperature allows it because of how relaxing and peaceful it is.

Its part of why I loved out of the city into a small town with next to nothing.. its peaceful here.

Totally get that. That same motivation is part of what drove me to my current residence. Only problem is that it seems everything is urbanizing now. I've watched my town go from a population of ~4,000 to around ~13k since I've lived here. What used to be unbroken fields are all dotted with subdivisions now. Crazy times.

Wow!  Hi again everybody!

I have escaped the corn, but the punishment is living in metro DC which is.  Alright.

Bella

Glad you found a place you enjoy Capt'!

I enjoy it, minus the traffic & costs... I think living in the city has spoiled me, I dunno I can go back to the countryside. T_T

Oh trust me.. there are.. problems.  Like, being a foodie the.. selection of places to eat out here are terrible.  Mostly variations on the same standard family diner specials or the same mundanes  food chains.Man.. I miss Popeyes, or Sonic, Raising Canes, Pot Belly, etc

.. we have a  Mcdonalds, and a Dairy Queen. half an hour either direction to get  say.. kfc, or Arbys. and those are the 'exciting' options.  My only savior in fast food is we have a Culvers nearby.

Access to certain box stores too is an issue. I took for granted some of the ones that in any major population center it would likely be 5 minutes down the road in either direction.  Your options are.. Walmart.

So.. Peace and Quiet and affordable house, but the cost is convenience and variety.

Ugh, yeah, that is the tradeoff of rural/small town living. When I lived out in the sticks the nearest Taco Bell was a half hour away so that was a special treat, and Arby's & Popeyes were even rarer. Walmart for everything too.

OTOH the mom 'n pop restaurants were top notch, despite the small selection. I hope some of your local diners and such are good!

I must say, I would kill for a Culver's close by.

stewartsage

Culver's would be cool.  Even living in a heavily populated area it's like half an hour to a Wendy's, even if there are two McDonalds in town for some reason.  I could go back, you have a lot more time to do things when you're not constantly going places, haha

Anyone doing anything fun for Halloween? I've been too busy to properly decorate this year but I'm at least hoping to get to go to a party.

I am going to be handing out candy to kids with my parents and be making a fun music playlist of the spookiest songs I can think of.
Also going to have a comfy Halloween movie (Scooby-Doo, Scary God Mother, etc.) marathon of some kind at some point.
