i bought this sweater. :I

i have a severe lack of quality socks. so in a flash of inspiration the other day, i decided i'd buy one pair of socks a week from Sock Dreams till i have a respectable collection. however, this led me to remember that i also have a severe lack of sweaters (i only have 2 and one of them is so ripped and patched and worn i can't wear it anymore). so i went on a quest to find cute, affordable sweaters.

oh what a challenge this was.

all the american boutiques charge at least $35+ per sweater, and they're all crappy american style ones that flap open or hang like bags/loose fabric or have fringe or shitty ugly fluorescent patterns or some shit like that. i found two cute sweaters on HT's site, but the cheaper of the two is $20, which is still kind of high.
i decided to look for japanese school cardigans (since my search for goth sweaters turned up zilch), but, as cute as they were, they were charging $45 for a sweater vest ($65 for a full sweater). ><;

so in desperation i googled something like 'cute cheap asian sweater' or something and i found the results at Aliexpress. i had never purchased from there before and was a bit nervous about it, but i've heard it referred to as 'the chinese amazon', so i was about as nervous as purchasing from ebay.

i'm loving the sweater selection here, and some of the sale prices are fabulous, so i think i've found my sweater home for the time being. -w-

...what?

i got 2 more sweaters (thanks, mum); a brown, thick, knit button-up lamb's wool one (savers, $10), and a thin pullover cardigan that's black with white stripes (tj maxx, $13). it's a decent start. -w-
