jeez, are all my friends after me for organ purposes!? o__o;

(i was thinking about reviving the book thread, but given its age, i'll just talk about it here.)

got a book from the Salvation Army a few weeks ago, a novel from 1924 called So Big (by Edna Ferber). it's a bit worn, and the binding is coming apart (the pages inside are holding together sans the front flyleaf and first title page, but the cover is falling off), and it took me a little while to get into it, but i didn't have much to do today by waiting in the car a lot, so i started reading....and i got through 6 chapters in one day. i'm hesitating to start chapter 7 because i feel like i need a break, and like tasty food i want to savour it a bit. ^^

i went back to the Salvation Army today to see if they had any more vintage ones, to go back tomorrow to get them......and i found an original copy of one of my favourite author's books. George's Mother by Stephen Crane. 1896. mum lent me the cash to get that and 2 others: The Works of Daudet (Alphonse Daudet compilation book, leather-bound, 1929), and The Grey Story Book by Katherine M. Yates, 1904-1910 (hard to tell).

also, i got approved for food stamps today, and as a bonus i'm being put on income-based healthcare, too, so i may not have to pay the monthly fee for my health insurance for awhile! today fucking rocks. *munches skittles* >:3

EDIT: oh, and my mum was going through some papers, and found one of my college transcripts. seems one of the semesters i was going there i got straight Bs in all 5 classes i was in that semester, and even got a B+ in one! (and one of those classes was a 2nd semester Senior class i took as a 1st semester Sophomore! : D ) turns out i WASN'T a complete screw-up! : DDDD

EDITEDIT: THE 1896 BOOK'S PAGES STAND UP WHEN I OPEN IT AND IT STILL HAS NEW BOOK SMELL. I LOOKED UP THE VALUE ON A WHIM AND THE COPIES IN CRAPPIER SHAPE THAN MINE GO FOR $50 - $150. THIS FROM 99 FUCKING CENTS.

Taking my mind off the thing that should not be, today was pretty good on this end :3

Rip Leonard Nimoy

Chocofreak13

that is the only sour point of today (well, yesterday); poor Mr. Nimoy. ;^; (well, that and Steve had a crappy day at work as usual.)

Mmm :[

I got up...and found a lack of coffee ;___;

Chocofreak13

i sorry, bro. i'd recommend dunks but you don't have them there. ;^;

went to an antique store today looking for books and i was sorely, sorely disappointed. they only had about 5 with covers and of those only 3 were antique (a set from the 40's). all the other books they had were cover-stripped (looks like purposely!! >:[ ) and tied together in stacks for conversation pieces. ><;;;

Could always go over to Walgreens -w-

Also, that sucks :[
Reminds me of, when Sega Genesis games were much easier to come by at thrift stores, I'd often find a game I want (For an example, one of the Ninja Turtles games), but seemingly 9 times out of 10, I'd open the case and find a shitty sports game inside, instead of the game I want ;___;

Chocofreak13

yeah. it is what it is, and honestly, it's probably better this way; i need to save money as usual. though it makes going to thrift stores and antique malls more fun now. ^^

also, i think i may have found bells in a past life.

What's in your hand, back at me. I have it, it's an oyster with two figures of your favorite Touhou characters. Look again, the figures are now vials of the Hourai Elixir. Anything is possible when your waifu smells like Old World and not a man. I'm a frog.

Re: Girl Problems: I tend to get vaguely nauseated and hungry for everything in sight and start to wonder if I'm miraculously pregnant. -___- Though I'd take the monthly (bi/trimonthly, thank god for high testosterone) miraculous conception scares over outright pain any day.

Nichi

TBH, while I know I should be thankful I don't have to deal with that, part of me wishes I did; just so I'd know first-hand what it's like >w>;;
(Granted, I think I am borderline Insanity Wolf, so...)
I put the "fun" in funeral

winduko

I recently had one, and after I first found out I had one, I forgot about it.

AMEN

Except it's just black-red stuff in my underwear. No virgin conception scares. No pain. Just blood. So I feel probably no different while and after one.
