@bells: when i was getting my oil changed the other day, i shot the breeze with this nice man originally from delaware. the topic came up of careers and i mentioned that, while i'd be insanely good at it and have the passion for it, i could never be a social worker because it's so mentally, physically, and emotionally draining. he suggested (and i agreed) that the only people who can survive in that job are either soulless or numb themselves.

So, work went well. Had a scare early on (District manager said he was on his way for unknown reasons...and after what felt like an eternity, he never showed up). but that aside, good night. Also, seems a coworker I can't stand is on the verge of being fired -w-

That sounds about right. Sometimes I wonder if a lot of people in stressful, high-stakes work end up burnt out or completely jaded after awhile...

So, things might be turning to shit at work soon. My sister urges me to leave now and get another job, but I'm going to ride it out a little longer, until roughly May if possible; I don't feel it's worth my time and effort trying to find another job in Palestine :\

EDIT: Seems like I might be working a long shift next Sunday,  for Super Bowl. To make matters worse,  unlike last year, it seems I'm going to be by myself on dishes. It's ok for that kid to be off for his other job, but I always had to be off from my other jobs for this. *facedesk*

I hate this. Why is it impossible for me to have a job that doesn't turn to shit?

EDIT2: So I just bought a laptop from a thrift store. It's a Compaq Presario CQ61, which as you might remember is the same exact model as Asagi I. It was cheap, and I figured maybe I could fix it up to resell >w>;

currently sequestered at Steve's! dunno what the situation power-wise is going to be like tomorrow, but it looks to be lighter and fluffier here than southward, so i think we'll be okay. the major factor seems to be wind, which i can occasionally hear in a whirling dervish outside, whipping the snow off the pine trees. i wouldn't be surprised if it rattles the windows, but to be fair the windows on this building seem to be a bit old. on the upside, if we DO lose power the main house has a woodstove, so at least we won't freeze. driving ban is in effect for mass, and tbh he lives so close to mass (i actually drive through it slightly to get here) that i don't see the point in going out. we have plenty of food, so starving isn't a thing here.
