it's REALLY important to pace yourself in college. skipping sleep to cram and do papers and whatnot may SEEM like typical college life, and you may kick yourself for NOT doing that, but the fact is that's a REALLY toxic way to live and you actually absorb information better when you're nice and rested. you function better, and your metabolism is more stable as well, meaning you'll have more energy and be healthier. (plus it's good for your skin, your mental state....)

tl;dr: no matter what anyone says, don't skip rest periods when you need them. you'll be better in school for it.

volunteering today went lovely. we even have a new member: an 'energetic' young boy named Ethan. despite his rowdiness, we managed to have a decent time and i figured out what i was doing wrong with the projector (turns out i need to drag stuff to the OTHER side....why the hell didn't i think of that), and we ended up chatting a good deal after club was over. despite my dad being a bitch all day, i'm having a decent day. AND OH MY GOD THIS NEW STEVEN UNIVERSE EPISODE.

Indeed. When I took my GED, one of my sister's tips was "when they offer you a break, take it"; they had us do the first 2 subjects in one sitting, and after that you were allowed to take a 15-minute break between the remaining questions, which I made good use of to get a drink of water and prepare myself for the next subject -w-

my college orientation pep rally was literally THREE HUNDRED PEOPLE RUNNING INTO THE GYMNASIUM, EVERYONE WITH WHISTLES, and 600 people behind me absolutely shrieking their heads off

DEERFIELD FAIR.
yesterday.
twas the most up-and-down one to date mostly due to several bad things happening over the course of the day, and us not even GETTING to the fair till 2pm. wasted most of my minutes (including one retarded attempt my sister/someone made to send me a picture of a fluffy cow, which i deleted after failing to get it and wasting the equivalent of 5 text messages trying), saw mel and finch (her friend, nice guy), FINALLY met up with my sister and them only to find out that she had brought my dad along......which pretty much spoiled the bulk of my mood at the fair, left and wandered with mel and finch finding an [AWESOME HAT] along the way (picked up later on after MUCH WALKING), went on the ferris wheel with finch, mel, and mum, didn't do most of the fair stuff i usually do (i didn't see a single animal outside of pictures and the one glance i got at the horse pull), but we got all our fair goals done (i got some blind-bag jewelry, a bag of maple cotton candy for Steve, and said [AWESOME HAT]), and even managed to sneak a ride on the [SWING RIDE].
despite the tumultuous nature of it all, the night ended rather well.
