Oh my god. I had to actually go look at how long of a hiatus that really was.

My last post prior to today was July 3, 2009.

So I was gone for almost 5 years...

That's a big install. Normal Debian is like 200MB for the netinstall image.

What kind of OS are you using?

It's not JUST the OS, and it's a Win7 image on 5gb + drivers and shit for the rest because I don't have an optical drive so i need to have them on disk...

But now we're ready and all set. It's building time.

Ah. I keep a similarly prepared 8GB usb stick. Windows 7 install + commonly installed software + drivers for systems that I've built.

But the internet here is 10mbit down 1mbit up. If I had to actually replace the whole stick's worth at once it would indeed take hours. Fortunately I keep network-archived backups of its contents so that I can make it all again real fast over gig ethernet from a nas.
