@Kraus: Niiice. I've considered refurbishing my GBC; as the Start\Select buttons don't always respond unless you press them in a certain way
(Also, I plan to have a custom GBASP. Bottom half will stay the original Pearl Blue color, the top half will be Cobalt Blue like my sister's SP -w-)

So, I've dusted off the old Master System and am attempting to finish Phantasy Star. Although it suffers from some of the more infuriating aspects of early console RPGs, it's still an enjoyable game; it makes me want to track down another copy of the game's sequel and start playing it sometime.

Recently (as in last week) I busted my Gameboy out to get some data on my old school team to update it for Pokemon Showdown.  Turns out to get it to turn on I now have to hold the upper right corner of my GBC.  Tempted to call the number on the support sticker on the back just for funsies.

Nichi

LOL -w-;

I'd laugh if the number was for a sex line now xD

I have been playing Just Cause 2 recently. Really good sandbox game in its own right. Never played Just Cause 1, though.

Speaking of which, I'm going to be insane and attempt to 100% the game. That includes beating the game on Experienced and Hardcore, once the Normal playthrough is done. God have mercy on my soul...

I hope your ready!

At last, I beat EarthBound. A rundown on my thoughts on the ending in the spoiler tag

Mother 2 \ EarthBound: ShowHide
First, let me get this part out of the way: Giygas, the final boss, is fucking creepy as hell. Honestly, I wouldn't have expected such an otherwise lighthearted game to have a boss that puts Sephiroth's final form to shame in terms of nightmare fuel.

As for the ending, it was really cool. First and foremost, the final phase of Giygas requires you not to attack, but have Paula pray to have the people of Earth lend her and her friends their strength (Think like a Spirit Bomb from Dragon Ball Z). Eventually, she runs out of people...but then a person whom they don't even know heard her prayer, and lends them his strength; that person being Pentium motherfucking Mitsumi, from Persona 3 (Or rather, you input whatever name you want at a point earlier in the game, where it asks for the name of "the person playing the game". I just chose my P3 character, because why not?). By his raw awesome that transcends across time, space, and video game systems from rival companies, Pentium was able to help Ness and friends destroy Giygas and save the world.

After that point, the group returns home, and Ness escorts Paula home.  The part that makes this cool is that they give you control one last time; as you're free to explore the world, talk to people, and see how everything has changed. I can't think of any other games they let you do this, to be honest, as most take control away from you for the ending. Then, Ness arrives home, talks to his mom, and the credits begin to roll; first showing the game's cast, then rolling the staff credits while showing the pictures that Photo-Man took of you throughout your adventure (Finally, I understand the point of those bits where he stops you to take your picture). After all the staff, it sits on the bit mentioning you (Or Pentium Mitsumi, in this case) in the Special Thanks, before a final scene; that directly mirrors the game's opening, with someone knocking on your door late at night.

When you go down and answer it, it's your next-door neighbor, Picky, who was delivering a letter from his brother, Porky, who proclaimed "Come and find me!", which then fades out to a "THE END...?" screen; a cliffhanger that will be addressed in the game's sequel, EarthBound 2 Mother 3, for the Game Boy Advance

Not sure what game I'll tackle next. Might try to find my password to continue Rockman X3, while the SNES is out, or maybe I'll setup my PS2 again and dive back into Persona 3 FES.

@Pent:
I still have my Sega Master System from way back when. It's a Model 2, and it has Sonic the Hedgehog built in. I haven't given it much love, though.

Nichi

Cool. I have a first model Master System, but it's sadly one of the later ones that doesn't have Snail Maze built in; instead having some game that requires the 3D Glasses that are hard to find :\

Going to give the Nintendo DS game Spectrobes another try (got bored of it quick), but this time in ROM form. I do already own the actual card, but for some reason it's not working.

Simonorged

Loved that game, if it wasn't for the heavy use of the (L+R) bumpers and the fact that mine didn't work, I would have loved it more.
Alot like fossil fighters.
Simon was here :P

>that feel when you're diamond
>that feel when your smurf is gold but has so astronomically high MMR that you play with plats all the time
>that feel when your normal game MMR is even higher
>that feel when your only RL friends playing League are stuck in bronze

It's lonely at the top :/
YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS

I uncrated a The Law.  Painted it an Abundance of Tinge.

So, as a pallet cleanser between EarthBound and whatever RPG I decide to tackle next, I'm messing around with Mario Kart: Double Dash. It's still not my favorite Mario Kart (That title belongs to Mario Kart 64, although Mario Kart DS is a close second), but it's alright; like any Mario Kart, it's most enjoyable in multiplayer.

I've been playing BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma lately. And all I have to say is this... It's awesome!

I hope your ready!

Alex picked up a game for steam recently called Kentucky Root Zero that looks cool enough for me to make a damn steam account. Bells, Stew, you guys would love this game. it's only got about 2 chapters out thus far but i still recommend picking it up (it's not free, though). :00
