Recolors are bad, and you should feel bad for making one;
and claiming it as an official character,
saying 'do not steal!' when you have clearly done just that
not giving the original artist credit
tracing over official artwork poorly.

On the other hand, if you drew it without using a base, and made it look unique, then good for you ^^

create your own characters. it's fine to base them on an existing one, but at the end of the day originality speaks more than a copy.

Quite right. I don't care if the character looks 5/100 original, as long as you did it yourself, then I won't care about the quality.

But, stealing a Sonic X screencap, like that one, dA artwork, or a base without permission/claimimg as own/not crediting orig. artist is wrong/saying 'do not steal!' when you've done just that is wrong.
