I think my mom used to watch some late night anime when I was 5 or something.

Chocofreak13

middle school - formation of gang of friends
social torture
awkward phases in life as we adjusted to having dad in the house after "the easter incident"
time dragging on as i longed for high school
light beatings inflicted by me

high school - cementing of gang of friends
coming into my own as a person/leader/social movement
gaining of some of the best friends of my life, both on and offline
eventual betrayl
anime club
joy and pain
secret places to hide (there were a lot of them >w< )
hanging out after school, before school, sometimes during school
very random occurrences (such as taking pieces of furniture home)
looking forward to college
i miss high school so much despite all the day-to-day crap

I'm going to impale the next person who suggests skiing is easier than snowboarding on a ski pole. Or rip their head off and use the pole as a pike. I mean it's easier to pick up, but MOTHER OF GOD, HOW DO YOU GET DOWN STEEP INCLINES and it's game over if you fall, because 1) There's no easy way to fall on skis and 2) Good luck getting back up, hope you like lying down in the middle of a slope for five minutes while you devise a way to get back on your feet. Don't get me wrong, I had fun, but the some of the logistical problems are ... interesting, to say the least.

EDIT: Okay, I should also mention what was easier ... unlike snowboarding, which has a massive learning curve for somebody who's never done it before, I was actually able to turn and stop within a couple of runs. It's nice getting to take advantage of the ski-centric resort infrastructure (riding T-bars, J-bars, the chair lifts are even easier) and it's awesome being able to actually go uphill.

Nichi

Ski pole? Like, the poles you typically carry when skiing?

LeaflameSD

@Bella: Neither of them are easy :|

Bella

@Pent: Yeah, those things.

Seriously though, I had fun. But I got a bit big for my britches / decided to try out some difficult terrain and that was a bad idea. >> It's my first time skiing in years after all...

@Leafy: Going from personal experience and what I've heard from my ski / snowboard instructor friends, skiing is easy to pick up if you're on a neither-too-steep-nor-to-flat surface. But going from a beginner level to intermediate is difficult, and intermediate to advanced is supposedly even harder. Snowboarding has an enormous learning curve - it's difficult to pick up any speed at all, much less turn in the beginning (which leads to a vicious circle, because you have to be going fast to turn but if you can't turn you'll be less inclined to go fast...), and you kind of have to re-program your brain / body to not be freaked out by the idea of having your feet locked together in a board / traveling sideways / all the weird balance issues that come with it. But once a person gets over that learning curve, it's relatively easy to progress to an intermediate skill level.

So I'm giving Line a test drive at the moment to see if its any better than skype, anyone want to join me in testing this platform out?

You can use it from the computer and any smartphone platform so its a pretty interesting idea and its grown in popularity recently.

You gotta have blue hair.

Enjoy the con Kari, and try not to freeze to death.

As for me, I'll be going home this weekend for the first time in two months.  Didn't sleep at all and I have a headache, so that'll be fun.

Blue hair FTW :3

And score! My manga book came in the mail today :D
Shipped from US. It was originally released in Japan as 'Manga, irasuto no kakikata nyūmon" than translated into English and released in the US and jargon...

Thank God... something from Japan, where they do this sort of thing correctly.

ALSO...
JUST WHEN I'M ABOUT TO BEAT TOUHOU 07, I DIE. I FUCKING DIE ;0_0;

Nichi

@Kari: Blue hair is win :3

@Stew: Sounds good, lack of sleep aside. Have fun ^^

@Leaf: You got further than I did. I made it to the 4th level when I died :\

LeaflameSD

@Pent: Huh. I've found something out:
You don't play Touhou. Touhou plays you.

@Stew: That's great, apart from not-sleeping and junk :\

Score! My Dad got me a book on Japanese graffiti. Also I'm thinking of drawing a OSC comic.
