@kraus: lol, i picked up some 1960's russian textbooks at the book sale last month and was thinking about learning it too since the books seemed rather easy once you got the alphabet down. :3
as for french, i took it for 3-4 years and ended up failing so bad the last year that i had to go to summer school. so i understand enough french to ask where the bathroom is.

Also, now I have to deal with mom badmouthing people she didn't even know, for their decision to quit yesterday over what happened; she claims they were "childish" and deserve any negative things that happen as a result >_>;;
(Granted, she was making fun of the people on strike for higher pay at McDonald's a few months back, as she felt they were demanding "doctor pay" ($12+/hr). which is "unreasonable", and they need to "get a better job". So, anything involving that unemployed bum and other people's jobs is invalid)

The average Doctor makes six times that. $12 an hour is only a few dollars above minimum wage. I do not feel that is unreasonable.

Get a better job huh? Let me just go back to the 1960s when she got a job so I can walk into a random building, have no background check performed, fill out no application, get the job on the spot and then proceed to keep it unquestioned for 40 years.
That's how the job world works right?

Also, in this town at the very least, the only jobs to pay above minimum wage ($7.25) are ones you need a college degree of some sort for :\

@kriz, pent: tbh, even if i get accepted i don't think i'll take the job. it just sounds too sketchy, and the lady was REALLY intimidating. i feel nervous that she even has my SS number. there were a couple other housekeeping jobs in the area, so i'ma keep looking.
i might still talk to my mum about it, though. the lady needed us to start next week, and it WOULD be convenient to just fall into a job....
