@Paul: Let me know if the Ouya is any good :3

Paul

I'll tell you as soon as I get it (presumably March) :3

Bella

That's a long way off.

I just looked up Ouya.... an Adroid-based game console sounds quite neat. : o

Paul

It's as small as a Rubik's cube, has a Tegra3 Quadcore CPU and is completely open! I was one of those crazy techies who backed the project on Kickstarter since I believe this one's gonna deliver!!!

Dr. Kraus

I guess my PS2 is modded some how because I can play Japanese games on it :D

I love how my PSVITA is unlocked for region, I'll get to play Miku either tomorrow the soonest or Monday at the latest, I'm downloading the Demo to pass the time on my JPN account~

The new update has one little feature that pisses me off a tad and that is that the memory cards that people hate so much already will be locked to your account (meaning you can't switch the account on them) when you first use it. Its not that big an issue for me since I have a 4GB card for my JP account and a 8GB card for my US account, but it really sucks for the people with 32GB cards and they can't use them with both accounts...

SleepyD

yay for no region locks~
You could always open up your PS2 and find out if it's modded or just speshul.

ooh, that sucks, I never thought of that. I think there's some old hardware engineers at sony that don't want to give up their proprietary stuff for some reason.

Paul

Hmm, I honestly see no reason for Sony to account-lock bloody memory cards. But yeah, they've made some strange decisions in the past, the most grave for me being the removed OtherOS/Linux support on the PS3. That was one thing that really pissed me off. Like: "Oh look, your shiny new PS3 has Linux support.... NOT ANYMORE, TROLLED YOU!"

I believe, that those proprietary memcards are just a way for Sony to milk the gamers once more (those things are expensive!)... not impressed by the PSV so far, really not.

Dr. Kraus

@sleepy: Can you play PS2 games from the US on a JPN PS2? I think that could be the case here...

@Paul: I thing is, I bought the Vita when it had pretty much just came out on the market but I didn't buy anything for it for around 2 months.
Reason being is that:
1. Almost all release titles had price droped down to $25-$35 which was reasonable
2. People had traded in their PSVITAs and the mem cards, the used ones drop in price about $10-$15 at the local store I do to. I grabbed a 4gb for free because Gamestop gave me a $50 card when I bought the Vita and a 8GB for only $15 because it was "used"

The most I've spent for this is the 7270 Yen for Project Diva F ($98.58) but I've been playing the demo since I got home from school today and I can't say I will regret it one ounce once it gets here, this game is amazingly addictive to play and the visuals are stunning for a handheld.

Funny enough Sega is planning on localizing it for the US in around 2 months, so I'm some what upset about not really waiting but I know I was just helping Sega push for this localization~

SleepyD

I can't verify that myself, but I'm pretty sure there was no provision for JP PS2s to play NA games. I'd think I'd have heard of that... lol
