@Red: Sorry to hear that... how old was she?

Nearly 90.  It was a long time coming (she had a stroke in february), but she got put on the slippery slope by some jackass boiler installer who didin't route the pipes properly.  She was being gassed for about a week before they noticed.  She was already ill then, but that set off her stroke.

Was there actual evidence/did the doctors say that the gas is what caused her stroke? If so, I really hope you reported that guy or took some sort of legal action. That's a job where peoples' lives are at risk,  and if he doesn't know what he's doing he has to taken out of that line of work.

They were planning to sue, but wanted to wait until she recovered because she likely would have had to give evidence.

@Red: That's really unfortunate... I'd take every chance to sue that guy.

I've just taken up my holiday job in the IT department of a mid-sized business (same as the two years before) and the whole work atmosphere is really pleasant... they have some pretty big AS/400s as well as some nifty virtualized servers...

Don't worry, bro, you haven't devolved into an earlier form.

Reporting live from my ancient Windows 95 laptop!  Rocking Firefox 1.5, everything looks exactly as it should.  Renders a tad slow though, but it is only a 90MHz Pentium I without MMX after all...

Now off to try YouTube.  Wish me luck!

90Mhz Pentium? Nice. I've wanted to see if the Yeti can handle coming here, since Bulbasaur could pull it off pretty well after a RAM upgrade

Oh man, I once hit YouTube with my Windows 95 multimedia laptop thing.  Kicked ass still after all those years.  No idea what the specs are since she stopped working several years ago, though they may be in a thread around here somewhere.

What kind of laptop?

Paul

FOOD!

Also looking to get a ThinkPad for making music (electronic music, an M-Audio Axiom 61 is coming home in a few days :D). ThinkPad because it's solid, long-lasting and has decent specs.... and it looks badass :D

I'm a bit uncomfortable this morning, because a bee that slipped into the house as my mom was leaving for work. At least, I'm about to go to work too, so maybe it'll go back out at the same time and not invade my room

Sony (subwoofers)

KOSS
Only headphones I'll ever seriously use. -w-;;

As for speakers, that's a bit more budget-dependent...
