Well, I've ordered a Rasberry Pi with the intention to learn how to code.

Someone's hopping on the Linux wagon? : o

Krizonar

Power Mac G3 on ebay for $35  with no returns

want
but that's so not legit

Nichi

A Power Mac G3? Which one; the original beige model, or the "Blue and White" model?

Krizonar

Blue and White model.

Sadly, there's not really any computers left for me to get, the only ones that would further my collection are uber expensive like the TAM.

Chocofreak13

35 bucks isn't THAT bad.......

not like the toshiba portege. a friend of mine in one of my classes has one. does want. ><;;

QuoteYou have chosen to install OpenVMS I64 on a new disk.

The target system disk, DKA0:, will be initialized
    with structure level 5 (ODS-5).
    Hard links WILL be enabled.
The disk will be labeled I64SYS.
Any data currently on the target system disk will be lost.

Is this OK? (Yes/No) yes

    Initializing and mounting target....

$ show cpu

System: FARRON, HP rx4640  (1.30GHz/3.0MB)

CPU ownership sets:
   Active               0-3
   Configure            0-3

CPU state sets:
   Potential            0-3
   Autostart            0-3
   Powered Down         None
   Not Present          None
   Hard Excluded        None
   Failover             None

Indeed, it is!!!! Running like a charm and I'm slowly getting acquainted to the unfamiliar command /filesystem structure (for instance home directories are in SYS$SYSDEVICE:[username], batch scripts are started with @ instead of ./, the root user is called SYSTEM...)

And the security is somewhat unnerving... logged in accidentally with a wrong password -> as soon as I got in with the SYSTEM account, the OS informed me that someone tried to log in with a wrong password via ssh *.* I really DO like this beast :D

Red-Machine

Guess who just bought a PowerMac G3 blue & white?

Nichi

Nice, dude ^_^

What OS are you running on it?

Red-Machine

It comes with Tiger, but I'll be dual-booting it with OS9.

Nichi

Sounds awesome :3

Sonata dual-boots Panther and her namesake OS, with the latter being what I primarily use

Red-Machine

Panther?  Dude, seriously.  Upgrader her to Tiger at least, Leopard if you can.
