It's sort of hard for me to get them mixed up, since I pronounce them/hear them pronounced differently (or at least I think I do - I'm pretty sure it's usually in my head).

I know the difference when I'm saying them or thinking them, but I always end up spelling both as "where" because "were" looks like a misspelled word to me

i've been wanting to mention that spelling error for over a year. i just thought it was a texas thing. i didn't want to be rude or whatever since i've been yelled at for correcting people's spelling or grammar before. .___.;;;
