YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS

Bella

What is Gelbooru, anyway? Isn't it like Danbooru, but with some sort of batshit policy of deleting any non-Japanese art? :/

NejinOniwa

Danbooru has that too afaik... Or at least, something in that direction.

Dr. Kraus

I'm pretty sure that Gelbooru and Danbooru are owned and operated by different people due to these small facts:

Gelbooru makes you view a ad when you change pages (adblock takes these away so its really just a hinderance...)
Gelbooru is running on a filled up server that isn't maintained well
Danbooru doesn't have have bothersome adds that are a hinderance
Danbooru is run on a fast, well maintained, not even close to being filled up, server

I find Danbooru to be more reliable in many ways and people translate quite fast on it, not that I need translations all the time -3-

NejinOniwa

That's the gist of it afaik. Seldom use other things than danbooru for my booru needs~

i prefer gelbooru because of danbooru's insane approval system. half the good art goes down the tubes because it's not of a popular series. >>;
as for gelbooru, the no non-japanese art is annoying as hell, but at least the image quality is better. (no half-assed doodles of touhou characters getting more attention than a well-done one of a less known series.) plus, gelbooru actually has more images because of this.

for now, it's an ok booru. though i'd like to find one better.

@nej: whatisthisidon'teven----

and one more, to make up for the ones i couldn't get:

(this might be better than coke)

Inspiration by topicless thread:

Domestic violence is the victim's fault: food not tasty enough.

"Girls only". When I had a job at one of the local hypermarkets, I did notice that the toy section was divided into two parts: one was mainly pink in color, while the other part had other colors too.

True that, kitty

Is this somewhere in the Mushroom Kingdom?

I don't always moonwalk, but when I do, it's in Wal-Mart

@remillia: this is why i'm going to turn my kids into nerds early. hell no are my kids gonna play with barbie. >>;

@pentium: kitty <3
i love topiary. :3
when i go to the supermarket, occasionally i'll run with the cart and then jump onto the back of it, shouting "TO THE BATCAVE, ROBIN!!"

@bella: actually, i did. and alot of the pictures i would bookmark or link here got wiped out because they weren't approved. and there are ALOT of half-assed touhou doodles. >:\ and you can't dispute the fact that GELBOORU IS BIGGER.

i don't laugh at you guys for your picture-hosting choices. so i expect the same courtesy.

Like my parents, I plan on letting my kids decide their own hobbies and passions.

Sorry, more ponies, but you guys get mostly what I haven't cleaned off my desktop in these pic dumps (unless there are special requests).

TAKE A LOOK, IT'S IN A BOOK, READING.  RAINBOW.

I'm not going to have kids, but if I did, I would let them decide what they wanted to be interested in too. It's not as if you can even control something like that ... some kids will be interested in nerdy pursuits, some kids will be interested in less intelligent things, others will love traditionally gender-stereotyped things and some will want to defy gendered play. It's also worth noting that the toys a kid plays with rarely influence their attitude into adulthood, the bigger determining factor is what they learn from their parent(s).
