Windows 8 is Microsoft's latest OS, scheduled to be released later this year. It has an overhauled interface based off of Windows Phone 7's Metro UI and is focused on tablets.  
Windows 8 is Microsoft's latest OS, scheduled to be released later this year. It has an overhauled interface based off of Windows Phone 7's Metro UI. A modified version of the desktop remains, the Start button was removed and replaced with Metro's Start screen. While stable and fast, Windows 8 is criticized for being counter-intuitive.  


As of yet, there are only a few Windows 8-tan designs, the first known one depicting her as a casually-dressed film-maker.  
The rush to make the newest Windows-tan design is mostly over; unlike Vistan and Windows 7-tan, there are only a few Windows 8-tan designs. The first known one depicts her as a casually-dressed film-maker. Another design, drawn by Esu of +Nijiura+, is depicted with long black hair, an 8-shaped bow in her hair, and wears what resembles a stylized miko outfit. No characterizations seem to have been established yet.
