==Technical Details==
Built over a period of 6 years (1945 - 1951), the IAS Machine was an early electronic computer and the originator of the widely-implemented Von Neumann Architecture.

Physically, IAS Machine-tan is slightly overweight, silver-haired and golden-eyed. She's described as imposing despite being average in height, and having a fondness for conservative business-wear.

A prolific scientist and mathematician, IAS worked on a variety of scientific projects - including ones involving nuclear and hydrogen bombs - and managed to be largely successful despite having no sense of internal timekeeping and trouble keeping up with her assignments. A confident and jovial woman, she's known to have a great love of food and drink, notoriously dirty sense of humor (manifested through a fondness for telling bawdy limericks and jokes) and enjoyment of playing games and practical jokes - a favorite of hers being mimicking "regular" human beings in her daily life. In spite of such fanciful pursuits, she remains rather politically-conservative and "straight-laced" compared to her peers and children.

A series of experimental operations were performed in an attempt to improved her lifespan, speed and powers, but they were untimely unsuccessful, costing her numerous body parts as well as general mental and physical stability. Especially problematic were the coma-like states she fell in and out of for the next fourteen years.

Despite the dire consequences to her health, there were several beneficial effects. Foremost among these, the creation of her second and third children, [[TX-0]] and [[PDP-1]]-tan, whose births would have never been possible without the knowledge gained during Whirlwind's experimental surgeries. In many ways, her two children filled the nest left empty by SAGE's departure, and became a comfort and companion to the ailing Whirlwind.

CTSS-tan was born in 1961, but the details of her creation and relationship with Whirlwind-tan are yet-unknown. It has been suggested that CTSS-tan may be an adopted child, rather than a blood-descendant.

Unusually for the era, Whirlwind-tan's relationship with her daughters was not only close but mutually-affectionate despite intervening factors - distance, in the case of SAGE-tan, and worsening health with TX-0, PDP-1 and CTSS.

Being a samurai, he has a stoic, gruff, yet laid-back personality, enjoying some of the things that samurai in the Edo Period might have enjoyed: cherry-blossom viewing, drinking sake, eating grilled food, like ika (squid) and unagi (freshwater eel), and possibly poetry. His laid-back attitude can sometimes frustrate his sister, as he lacks the same fiery hatred of the macs that she does. Also frustrating to her is his laid back party attitude, sometimes resuting in people getting drunk (which [[95-tan]] sometimes has to clean up the mess after). Despite this, he gets along well with most people, providing a father or uncle figure to some, peacekeeper to others. He seems to remember and reflect on the past, though if he has the same nostalgia for it as his sister remains unknown. He keeps the company of other characters his own age, such as his sister 95, [[2k-tan]], and occasionally [[Nijiura and Futaba Characters#Akachouchin and Daiginjou|Daiginjou]]. More often, however, he is seen keeping the company of [[Nijiura and Futaba Characters#Akachouchin and Daiginjou|Akachouchin]], a young Futaba girl who shares his passion for sake. Given her prowess in making it, it's only natural that they'd keep company.

Both designs are sometimes refereed to as "Chiivistan" this may be the result of a Japanese to English translation error of their actual name, but it is hard to know for sure.

Both designs are depicted as a magical girl-type character in a dress-suit combo. They are fair skinned with green colored hair, said to be representing of the OS’ login screen and default background.

Her hair is very long, usually reaching down to the lower portion of the their legs; a small portion of it is usually kept in a pair of pigtails while the rest sits there on the middle. The hair ties for these pigtails have a white to aqua gradient that stick out to the side and back.

A collar of eccentric appearance floats or hangs around their neck; it has the Windows “shield” logo that is used to set apart all security features that the operating system has; underneath the shield logo the word “Vista” is written in green.

They wear a sort of black sleeveless penguin coat/vest that appears to be the only thing covering their chests. It can be noted that the lower portions of the coat is partially transparent, this reflecting on the Aero transparency features that the OS has. This coat also matches short, puffy detached sleeves on their upper arms with a similar transparent effect.

Black stockings cover most of their legs, up to the thighs.

White high collared wrist cuffs and heeled shoes both with red trims are a distinct part of their looks, each having a white circlet containing the [[Windows Vista]] logo in glass ball. Interestingly however, '''Chichivistan''''s shoes are black instead of white.

Atari DOS-tan represents the Operating System for the line of Atari 8-bit home computers. She has yellow eyes and blonde hair, braided in the back in the shape of the Atari logo, the braids ending in three small pigtails. She is a magician and her uniform contains many elements of the system embedded in it. Her magic wand is actually an Atari Remote Controller (from the video game line, but still compatible with the home computers) with an elongated receiver.

Being a magician reflects on Atari's marketing smoke mirrors to make their technically-inferior 8-bit computers competitive and more appealing. Her appearance as a magician is actually more impressive than her skills, but she is a very kind-hearted, fun-loving and innocent girl who is also very resourceful and able to do magic tricks using anything lying around. If not for her old-fashioned mannerisms and very antiquated prop comedy, she acts her appearance rather than her actual age.

In her family, she has several cousins who represent the Atari game consoles. However, she did not see them very often nor do they get along with her very well because of the similarities and partial interoperability between the 8-bit Atari computers and their game consoles and it seemed that she was interfering too much in their market. She also has a younger stepsister: [[Atari TOS |Atari TOS-tan]]. And despite their differences and Atari TOS-tan's counterproductive antics, Atari DOS-tan loves Atari TOS-tan like a real sister would.

This character represents the first edition of [[wikipedia:Windows 98| Windows 98]]. She is represented as a shy and small pre-teen girl with short navy blue hair with a clip shaped like 98, the Windows logo as part of a necktie or ascot and a schoolgirl outfit with a sleeveless white blouse, blue skirt, dark-colored shoes, long socks and gloves.

Two early designs that continue to be used alongside the 98 an 98SE-tans are a pair of stick-limbed snack-boxes with a face and version number drawn in crayon, based on the Vulcan 300 toy that appeared in the anime series Konjiki no Gash Bell!!/Zatch Bell!.

This is a holdover from the very early days before the designs of the primary OS-tans had settled. Generic stick-limbed boxes were often used as placeholders; there had been instances of small DOS and Windows 3.11 boxes before other designs gained popularity.

Both girls now make regular use of these as mechanical suits. The mech-box used by 98 is blue in colour, and likewise the 98SE mech-box has a green theme. The mechs are sometimes shown as guardians or friends to the 98-tans, otherwise the two girls can be seated inside them as pilots. The box sizes can vary, ranging from doll-like when carried by the girls to taller than an adult when they ride inside them. While usually used as toys or weapons, they can serve other purposes, such as a clubhouse, a shelter, or a place to hide. (The boxes also appear to be less stable than the girls themselves; When a non-DOS based OS-tan enters the box, it has a tendency to fall apart.)

Saba-tan is constantly being eaten by cats (As another gag of the fact that she's a fish), also in one episode, Windows 95 is seen cooking Saba-tan for lunch, she has been gutted, stunned, and placed on a cutting board as 95 is seen with a sharp knife, preparing to chop Saba-tan up and cook her for ME and 2K to eat. It is still unknown how she escaped that situation since she was unconscious while 95 held the knife up ready to chop her up.

Also in the picture of all the OS-tans, she is seen becoming a cats lunch, however she returns in a later comic, indicating that she somehow escaped being eaten for lunch, or the fact that there are many Saba OS-tans in the OS-tan universe.

==About==
Windows Server 2008 (formerly known as Longhorn, not to be confused with the [[Longhorn | Longhorn]] that later became Windows Vista) is [[2003 Server | Windows Server 2003's]] successor and is the latest server OS from Microsoft. It is built with the same code base as Windows Vista and shares most of Vista's features.

Like Server 2003-tan and Server 2000-tan, Server 2008-tan is half girl and half mackerel. The mackerel part is yellow and she has curly blonde hair, gold bracelets, a tiara (instead of a hub that the other Server-tans have on their heads) and her ''maebari'' (loincloth) is made of 18-karat gold. She is almost always seen with the other Server-tans.

ME was intended as the successor to [[:Category:Windows 98|Windows 98]], aimed at Home Users. It was the last of the DOS lineage and featured newer software, including the new addition, Windows Movie Maker. Despite the best intentions with ME, it was largely outshined by its predecessor, [[Windows 2000]], due to a large amount of bugs and glitches, causing instability and frequent crashes, as well as sharing several features with 2000 anyway. Despite this, it remains an important part of the Windows line, as it marked the last of the DOS-based OSes (despite having limited DOS capabilities in comparison to its predecessors; this was to speed up boot time), introduced the Picture Previewer, System Restore, a new Help System, greater accessibility for disabled users, and Universal Plug and Play. Despite being discontinued roughly a year after its release, many people still favor ME for some legacy applications, since there are things that only ME can do.

==Technical details==
Windows 95 can trace its roots back to March 1992, right after the release of Windows 3.1. Microsoft was stil developing Windows for Workgroups 3.1 and Windows NT 3.1, with their future sights set on the Cairo Operating System. However, Cairo was not expected to release for another two years, and in the meantime Microsoft realized that in order to keep competing, they needed an OS that could handle 32-bit capabiities and preemptive multitasking while still running on low-end hardware (Windows NT could not). Thus, the 'Chicago' project was born, being expected for a late 93' release, becoming known as Windows 93. Windows 93 would eventually ship with MSDOS 7.0, offering a more intergrated experience, but the Chicago Project continued on. Released at the same time was 'Cougar', a 32-bit shell for MSDOS; Cougar would go on to become the kernel of Chicago.

95 was released to great approval, quickly dominating the computer market. Part of this reason was the campaign to promote it by Microsoft; A commercial featuring the Rolling Stones' song ''"Start Me Up"'' and a 30-minute promo video (a 'Cyber Sitcom' as it was called) featuring Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry were just part of the advertising. In addition, several new features made 95 much easier to use for those new to computers, such as the Taskbar, Start Button and Menu, Longer Filenames, and Multitasking. 95 was also the first Microsoft OS to be a standalone, more than merely a graphical shell for DOS. Despite this, the 32-bit kernel, and the incompatibility of 95 with 16-bit processors, a good amount of code left over (mainly for the user interface) was still 16-bit.

95 was normally offered on a CD-ROM, though the inital release was also offered on 13 3.5" floppy disks, suitable for older machines(though with added features removed). The later releases doubled this to 26 disks, and Plus! was also adapted for floppies. Though uncommon, a 5.25" floppy disk set for installation could be special-ordered.

By the time of its obselence in 2001, 95 had become an industry standard, with many of the features introduced in 95 still being used today. 95 could be upgraded to 98, ME or even 2000, though many users still rely on 95 for legacy functions due to its closeness with DOS while still being reliable and easy to use.

==Technical Details==
Windows 7 is an operating system first released on July 22nd, 2009, and to the general public on October 22nd, 2009. It built off of many of the same features introduced in [[:Category:Windows Vista|Vista]], upgrading them and improving them to be more stable. Windows 7 also introduced multi-touch support, an updated shell, and the HomeGroup networking system. Windows 7, unlike XP and Vista, did not feature many Microsoft programs (such as Movie Maker and Photo Gallery) standard, but instead as part of a free download named Windows Essentials.

==Other Versions==
Though [[Nanami Madobe]] is the generally accepted representation of Windows 7, there are other 7-tans out there, mostly made by the Futaba community. Similar to Vista's release, there seemed to be a bit of a boss-rush of -tans competing for canonism.

===Vienna-tan===
Although most often seen as a silhouette, [http://ostan-collections.net/imeeji/displayimage.php?pid=7417 Vienna-tan] is depicted as almost an older-looking version of [[Inu-T]], with more mechanical-looking ears and longer hair and tail. She was named for 7's codename, Vienna, and was used as a placeholder while the community waited for the OS's release.

===The 7-tan Lolis===
With the flood of -tans with 7's release, a couple non-canon and semi-canon loli-type mascots were released. The Futaba Loli has silver hair and red glasses, and wears some sort of grey headpiece. she wears a frilly skirt and a tube top, and is commonly depicted with a mouse pointer squeezing her in some way. The other loli of mention is around the same age region as Futaba's, with white hair, pale skin, and blue eyes. She wears a dress made out of the new Windows logo, with long white sleeves and a bow. Her hair is curled into twindrills in the front, toward the bottom, and she wears hairclips on either side of her head that look like reddish bubbles with "7" inside. she has a generally sleepy demeanor. Given her depictions and overall look, she is a heavy reference to Chivistan, one of the Windows Vista characters. ===The 7 Cosplays===
It became something of a mini-meme to have pictures of the current -tans dressing up in only some tape over their bodies (and some variations, depending on the -tan) in the shape of a "7", in the belief that they wanted to be 7-tan to gain a resurgence of popularity and maybe a second chance at being top dog. Given the small amount of art of this, they can also be disputed as cosplay pictures of the respective -tans rather than a variation of 7's mascot.

There are multiple other renditions of 7-tan. Ah-kun is Ah-tan's feeble younger brother, He's less like his sister in terms of personality, though he still is rather twitchy and fidgetive. Ah-kun's also intelligent and usually doesn't rush into situations headfirst, this being said he's more prone to 'freaking out' and has frequent panic attacks, sometimes fainting if he's frightened enough. The phrase 'D: 1173' on his shirt comes from the 4 numbers at the end of the virus' alias and the first letter (D) is the first letter at the beginning of the virus (David 1173) ironically enough the 'D:' symbol is a pun on his paniky nature, for that very symbol is often associated with the phrase 'Oh Noes!'. His favorite day is Tuesday and he's commonly seen the happiest on that day (this is also a refreance to the Ah virus for the virus activates every Tuesday).

Ah-kun dreams of becoming a General, and works hard in order to make Viru-sama promote him to a general, however due to his panicy nature he often messes up. Ah-kun is actually afraid of his older sister, but this maybe due to the fact that Ah-kun has a slight phobia of women, and not Ah-tan's creepy nature. He is usually with Abraxas-kun, who he sees as a sort of big brother, it is also said that he has befriended Homeo, but no visual accounts exsist to back this up...

4K-tan is a hyper, enthusiastic and proudly geeky ninja girl who also loves roleplaying and renaissance faires, and is a Lord of the Rings fangirl. She is very stealthy and is a ninja as 4K was one of the first viruses to use stealth tactics. Her fondness of LOTR is reference to Frodo being one of 4K's aliases and that on September 22nd (which is also Bilbo Baggin's birthday), 4K displays the message Frodo lives.

4K-tan has wild brown hair and has thick glasses. She typically dons knee breeches, a long-sleeved shirt, gloves, boots, and a neckerchief; all in dark colors and also has a belt with pouches to carry kunai and shuriken (two types of ninja weapons) but is also likes to use swords.

Despite being stealthy and experienced with weapons, she is of the lowest ranked virus-tans but does not really care. She is a pacifist anyways and is much more interested in her roleplaying and LOTR fandom than having to fight, although she does take fight scenes in her roleplaying very seriously! Her friends and roleplaying buddies are BBSpot-tan, Slashdot-tan and BeOS-tan.

Abraxas-tan is a cryptic, and puzzle loving Virus-tan. her appearance is based off her common name, which is (coincidentally) identical to that of the mythological monster 'Abraxas' whom is commonly depicted as half rooster and half man (in her case, she retains the bird like wings and tail feathers). The '5' on her ascot, is a reference to her Alias Name:Abaxas5. Unlike her sister Virus-tans, she is the more lenient and kind viruses and dislikes confrontation or violence for that matter, however this is due to a personality defect, so it is not her TRUE nature. (this defect is a reference to the virus for Abraxas has a bug in it's programming which only allows her it infect the 1st EXE file in an entire directory, when it could have infected them all) Abraxas-tan is often thought of as 'cryptic' or 'hard to follow' for she has a habit of speaking in riddles, this habit based on the text strings which can be found in 'Abraxas' viral code:

Despite her kind nature however, she was still Exiled/Isolated in 1993 (being she's still a virus no matter what bug induced personality she bears) and now resides where her fellow (Isolated) Virus-tans live. Abraxas-tan plays little role in Viru-sama's plot of causing trouble for OS-tans, she's usually happier staying behind and toying with her puzzles, but she is still valued, for despite lacking any sinister qualities, she is quite intelligent. She is also able to sustain flight and is the 3rd child out of 20 who were born from PS-MPC-tan.

A-Bomb.878-tan is an impulsive virus-tan who loves being naughty. Her apperance (the sunglasses, the color of her dress and the '5' on the side of the dress) is based off of Mr.5 from One Piece, who in the series has the power to make ANY part of his body explode like a bomb. A-Bomb-tan is one of the more nasty viru-tans, being she's not only destructive, but she uses excellent meathods of stealth to hide herself from being detected by her enemies, she can be a bit rash though and doesn't normally think things through (a referance to the virus for it infects any file as soon as it's executed) which more than often gets her into more trouble than she bargained for. A-Bomb is said to be a closet psycho often masking a more sinister side with a cute exterior and smile.

A-Bomb takes real pride in being naughty and enjoys her life as a virus to the fullest, this being said Viru-sama is considering making A-Bomb-tan into a General. She has a habit of saying Times ni! at the end of her sentences (usually when she's excitied about something or describing something), this action is another referance to the virus for one of the symptoms a computer shows when it's infected with A-Bomb is that infected files execute twice when they are run (Ni meaning 2 in japanese). She also enjoys hanging out with Mydoom-tan and is usually with in her company, if not then she can be found with her twin brother. She is the only one that her brother, the egomanical A-Bomb-kun, will show absolute submission towards. How, or why, this is, is currently unknown, most say it's due to him fearing her 'true' power.

Acid-tan is an adlutrous and corruptive virus-tan, often using her figure to get what she wants and needs from others. Acid-tan is a bit hard to explain when it comes to references, though as her pro-dominant colors suggest she's affiliated with poison, she also has 2 tattoos each of them are related to the Viruses name and author, (only 1 can be seen in this pic though) the 1st is (usually) the most noticeable, which appear as the numbers '670' (these 3 numbers are the last 3 numbers of the Acid Virus' Aliases, strangely each alias (a total of 5) still bears the same 3 numbers at or near the end), while the 2nd tattoo, which is on her...uhm rear end, reads '$MZU' the ending letters to the Authors name. Acid-tan has the 3rd biggest bustline of the Virus-tans (this comes from the text string Program too big for memory which can be found in files infected with the Acid virus).

Acid-tan is quite promiscuis, and often wears revealing or indecent clothes, if it shows alot of skin then she'll wear it, she is also charismatic and can easily influence those around her into doing things for her, which makes her all the more dangerous, aside from this, Acid-tan won't hesitate to use her looks to get things to go into her favor either. Infact, if McAfee-tan weren't around, Acid-tan would probably be alot more powerful. She is mostly a solitary virus-tan, often doing things on her own accord and for her own reasons, but she will occasionally tag along on Acme-tan's misdaventures just for the fun of it. Acid-tan also has a habit of borrowing things and keeping them for herself often times claiming she forgot she had it (this is another referance to one her alias names; Keeper.Acid.670.)

Acme-tan is a mischevious and clever Viru-tan, who is renowned for her traps and tricks. Her appearance is based off of differant forms of comedy. The hammer, for example, comes from the a common (if not cliched) use in anime humor (a girl pulling out a hammer, usually over exaggerated in size, and whacking a person with them) and her wolf-like ears and tail is a referance to Wile. E. Coyote a prolific (if not, obsessive) user of 'Acme' products. The number on her hammer, 247, comes from the number at the end of her technical name: Clonewar.247 and the number of bytes the virus uses to create a hidden read only COM file (it also stands for it's weight, 247 TONS...which is a lie, it's really only 12 kilograms).

Acme tan is extremely mischevious and loves the thrill of setting traps and watching others fall into them, she sees herself as a great Viru-tan because of this (another referance, for 'Acme' is greek for the great of something), but in reality her traps are more prone to fail than they are to succeed, for the traps themselves are very cartoonish and ultimately obvious to the naked eye (i.e. an Anvil tied to the end of a rope, which is suspended from a tree)Acme-tan is also able to acces 'Malletspace' allowing her to pull out random objects seemingly out of nowhere (another type of humor).

Being a decsendent of Clonewars-tan (and possibly Zeno-tan), She is a replicant and can make clones of herself which will then go about her bidding, the fact she can make 5, or even 10, exact copies of herself made her traps alot more dangerous (though still prone to fail catastropically). She was eventually Isolated in 1992 after causing alot of mischeif and disorder among the OS-tans...though she occasionally gets loose by leaving a clone to fool many into believing she still in exile...Though now since there are newer more secure OS-tans, the chances that her tricks will succeed are nearly close to...well 0%, she has a common enemy in 2k-tan in particular, for Acme-tan has tried dozens of times to get her to fall into a trap, but 2k-tan usually avoids them (rather easily) and has gone so far as to pointing out why they won't work. She is also rivals with Cerberus-tan but the 2 seem to have this rivalry on more friendlier terms. Acme-tan has 3 friends; Ah-tan, WDEF-tan and Bomber-tan

Acme-tan is one of the more popular virus-tans, this is possibly due to her referances to old school cartoon antics

Ah-tan is an impulsive, and somewhat ill-fated Viru-tan, who is a faithful friend to Acme-tan. Ah-tan's impulsive and twitchy personality stems from the Ah virus' tendency to be buggy and cause system hangs on the computer it infected. Her bad luck comes from the fact that the Ah virus is so buggy and unstable that every time it tries to infect a file it causes a system hang in the process, making it very noticeable in the end. Ah-tan can be quite profane and dirty when she's angry, usually shouting vile profanities at the one who angered her (this also comes from the Ah virus for the text string is known to have strong profanity with in it).

Ah-tan has 0 fashion sense and often throws on anything just so she can say she's wearing clothes and not roaming around in her underwear (or naked for that matter). Ah-tan hates secrets and will go out of her way to uncover anything she thinks some one is keeping from her whether it be money or even a simple surprise party. Ah-tan was easily isolated in 1992 (the same year as Acme-tan), thusly she and Acme-tan are common partners in their quest to once again cause mayhem in the OS-tan world, but paired with Acme-tan's flaw-riddled traps and her own bad luck it makes it near impossible to make any real progress on their goal. Ah-tan has a gluttonous addiction for sweets (think XP-tan and her rice) thusly she's almost never seen without some form of candy with her. Ah-tan tends to become jealous of OS-tans who are 'well endowed', some say she's intimidated by this. Ah-tan has a habit of being rather creepy, and ominous, she often ends her sentences with Ku, Ku, Ku.

ANTI-tan- A rouge doctor who is one of the rare virus tans who are able to 'infect' Mac OS-tans. ANTI-tan has split-personalities one side is seemingly kind and always strives to save a patient's life, but when she snaps her latent 2nd personality awakens, this personality is considerably violent and is intent on taking lives rather than saving them (this 2nd personality has been named Satsu ANTI, 'Satsu' literally meaning 'Murder'). Obviously enough, ANTI-tan has a vast knowledge in medicine, and surgical procedures. This being said she's extremely dangerous in combat, for she knows exactly where to 'cut' someone to insure that they're either paralyzed or dead. When she 1st appeared, ANTI-tan infiltrated the Mac House and posed as a doctor for the Mac-tans.

It was originally supposed to be a rather discreet operation involving advanced tactics, but ANTI snapped and went Satsu, it is then that she went on a rampage, only to be challenged by System 6-tan, an epic fight ensued betweeb the 2, but in the end System 6 was victorous. Humiliated, ANTI-tan swore her revenge on the Mac family as well as System 6 and fled to the Viru-tan Area where she now resides as the only doctor to the Virus-tans (ironic isn't it), She currently has no ties to Viru-sama and is happy with simply being a doctor, ANTI seems to be of French descent, being she is a fluent speaker of the language, She remain in close contact with her sister Mac Viruses for as said above there aren't very many of them around. It is currently unknown as to what caused ANTI to snap back when she was with the Mac family. Her being a rouge doctor is coined from her name 'Anti', which is also the 1st word in Anti-virus, in this case it's a play on words being she's a virus against OS-tans. Her being French, is a referance to the viruses origin. The fact she has a split personality is because the true virus was only 'accidentially' destructive. She and WDEF-tan are comrades in crime when it comes to fighting their arch rival; System 6-tan, but ANTI is usually the one plauged by WDEF's annoying and klumsy nature...

Bliss-tan is a happy go lucky Virus-tan, Bliss-tan is probably one of the most mysterious Viru-tans around, for the simple (or rather, not so simple) fact that she acts so little like a virus and causes little to no trouble at all (Abraxas-tan is an expection to this, for her personality maybe similar to Bliss-tans, but it's due to a bug in her progamming therefore, it's not her TRUE nature). Bliss-tan was noted as one of the first 'Viruses' to be able to 'infect' the Lunix/Unix-tans, but the only thing known to be of a nuisance was the fact that she attached herself to the victim (klinging to them rather cutely) which would sometimes obstruct the Lunix/Unix-tans from normal tasks, if asked to leave she will thank them for their time and leave as she was asked to (A referance to the true Bliss virus, for it has a a command line action named '-bliss-uninfect-files please'. If executed, the virus will actually remove itself from the infected files).

Due to her behavior she was never isolated, and is kept among the Lunix/Unix-tans, which marks her as the 1st Viru-tan to co-exsist with OS-tans without causing any real upset in balance. Bliss-tan is capable of flight, and is sometimes seen flying in the sky when she goes outside to play. As of now, no one seems to know why Bliss-tan isn't as malicious as her fellow virus-tans, some even believe she shouldn't even be classified a virus. Her appearance is based off 2 pokemon, Happiny (Chansey's pre-evolved stage) for her prodominant pink color as well as the fact that Bliss-tan is depicted to look rather young, and Clefairy (her angel-like wings) both of said pokemon have something relevent to the concept of Happiness (Happiny having the word 'Happy in her name, and Clefairy who can be alternatively obtained when it's baby form, Cleffa, harbours great affection towards it's trainer). Bliss-tan's personality is derived from her name, which is another meaning for 'Happiness' or 'Joy', the fact that the only 'infection' she can inflict is klinging to her victim is yet another referance to the Bliss virus. Bliss-tan is usually found in the company of Barbie Lunix or klining to some poor Lunix-tan

Bomber-tan is a hyperactive virus tan who is an avid lover of all things that go 'BOOM' and is also Acme-tan's only known pupil. Her color scheme (Blue and Pink) is a referance to Bomberman, whilst her large stocking hat is coined from Poppy Bros. Jr/Sr, 2 enemies from the 'Kirby' series who occasionally carry the 'Bomb' ability. Her constant impulse to 'bomb' things makes it near impossible to get anything done whilst in her presence, however this doesn't mean she isn't capable of strategic planning, infact her methods are just that, when she often sets remote landmines around a set area, then when the victim is within range, she'll activate them simualtaneously causing maximum damage (this method is derived from the Bomber virus method of infecting files) Bomber-tan has an unlimited arsenal of explosives of many kinds and can materialize them out of nowhere (like Acme-tan and hammerspace) she also has complete control over her bombs even being able to move them around using only her mind alone (another referance to the Bomberman franchise, for in most recent games, Bomerman is capable of moving the bombs he sets via Remote Control, usually depicting him concentraring which points to the fact he may actually use his mind to move the bombs in question). She admires Acme-tan and is currently apprenticing under her, she affectionatly calls her teacher 'Ookami-sensei'. Bomber-tan is often thought of as being a 'spy' (or ally) from the Mac family, due to her avid obsession of explosives.

(c)Brain-tan- A professional type of virus tan with a serious, CEO type of dispostion, (c)Brain-tan's appearance based on that of a professor (looking more closely one can identify it as a referance to Makai Kingdom, for the Professor Class wears a similar attire to that of (c)Brain-tan) this is due to her name, for Brain is usually associated with someone of high intelligence (ex: Brains of the operation). Of course, this isn't saying (c)Brain-tan herself isn't intelligent, for the fact that she's not only intelligent, but a supergenius at best! despite being a virus of early descent, she's viewed by Viru-tan as well as the other virus-tans as a very valuable ally, her intellect and ability to strategize is of high importance in the effort to cause mayhem for the Windows Family. However an interesting note about (c)Brain-tan is that she doesn't believe in needless destruction, instead she relies on strategy and wit alone to do her work (this is derived from the virus itself, for it's payload isn't destructive, but instead rearranges things, such as boot sectors, little by little in a matter that can cause problems later on, this very method can make the virus almost undetectable, at least to those who pay little to no attention).

(c)Brain-tan writes notes on various things she discovers (most of these are notes on McAfee-tan and Norton-kun), and doesn't appreciate it when others touch or even look at them (this is another referance to the virus, for it was originally desigined to protect medical software from copyright infringment). She also dislikes answering the phone, for she fears it could be 'someone she doesn't want to speak to' (another referance to the virus, for due to the fact that the (c)Brain virus was created to protect something, it still caused problems for other users who unwittingly contracted it, thusly the multitude of users who's computers were infected, called the authors of (c)Brain, by use of the phone number included with in the virus' text string. the fact that so many called, forced the 2 brothers to cut their phone line off...). (c)Brain-tan is one of the Viru-tan's top generals this is due to her flawless ability to plan and strategize. (c)Brain-tan absolutely hates being outdone, by those she see's as not smart enough for it tarnishes her perfect record as a great strategist.

Butterfly

Butterfly-tan is a slightly air headed virus-tan, who loves flowers, and is completely unaware of her status as a virus. Butterfly tan's appearnce is based loosely off of Sol Titania from the game Megaman Zero (the way her anteena are shaped and the 'barrettes' on her head). Butterfly-tan is (as mentioned above) is an air head, so she's blissfully ignorant to the many things her fellow virus-tans are completely aware of. In the past before she knew any of the other virus-tans, she was friends with Telemate-tan, a Software-tan who was in charge of communications, It is currently unclear as to how they met, but the 2 of them travelled the lands alot together seeing sights and visiting new places everyday, however because the 2 of them traveled extensively (and also because of Butterfly's rather oblivious nature) Butterfly unwittingly caused alot of damage, after it was discovered that Butterfly tan was indeed behind the damages, she was seperated from Teleware-tan, and the 2 have never seen each other since then. After this Butterfly wandered about looking for her friend but never really found her, she would later wind up with Viru-sama (completely by accident) and after some persuasion would become her minion. Since then Butterfly has got along well with her fellow viruses, despite being exposed to Non-malware tans for an exteneded amount of time, she has even befriended Spida-tan but is somewhat afraid of her aswell, being she fears she'll eat her (coined from the fact Butterfly's can become prey to Spiders). She is the most child like of the virus-tans and is also easily amazed by the smallest of things, so it's not very difficult to impress her. It is believed she has several sisters as well.

Byte-Bandit

Byte Bandit-tan is a stotic and destructive Virus-tan, her personality is derived from the virus' destructive payload which can cause file loss and even system failure, her appearance is that of a theif of sorts, the pattern and color of her scarf is based off of a common design found on a large green (sometimes, disporportionate) bag a theif carries his stolen goods in (usually found in japanese anime, for example, the character T.A.C from Kirby Super Star has such a bag). Unlike most of her fellow virus-tans, Byte Bandit-tan targeted only the Amiga family and quickly became the most feared, for she was quick, precise and destructive in her assualts.

What made her unique is that she was never stealthy about her attacks like normal Virus-tans were, instead she administers a straight-forward, all out assualt against her target. She has 'Ninja claws' hidden within her large sleeves, said claws are attached to long chains. The claws are mainly used to grapple and/or hook into things so either the victim can't run or stick into solid objects (wood, stone ect.) so she can move around the battlefeild more strategically. She also has a technique in which she'll create clones a la the (cliched) Ninja Clone technique, to do this she'll state her name and then say a number, the number will determine the number of 'clones' that will appear (another referance to the virus, for in it's text string it states it's name and the number of copies it has created of itself).

Eventually, she and Lamer Exterminator-tan met and joined forces to wreck havoc on their main enemy; CAOS-tan, but despite being out matched she remained strong and fought the both of them off, this would go on for sometime, until her discontinuation/death, after this occured Byte Bandit-tan and Lamer Exterminator-tan, disappeared...However, as of now, they have been spotted near the grave of their former advisary, possibly gaurding it from vandals or mourning the loss of their greatest rival, both she and her partner are Virus-tan Generals, but are usually to them selves and tend to do things on their own terms. contrary to popular belief, Byte Bandit-tan rarely steals things from others...

Cascade

Cascade-tan- a quirky and eccentric virus tan, her appearance is based somewhat on Misty from Pokemon (her swimsuit) for in the Pokemon Games (1st, and 2nd Generations) Misty is a Gym Leader to a Water Pokemon gym and defeating her in battle will earn you a Cascade Badge. Cascade-tan's rabbit ears are coined from 'Playboy Bunnies' which in anime are usually associated with casinos this all stems to her alias name 'BlackJack' a card game usually played in casinos. Cascade-tan is quite flexible and lithe, which makes her very much capable of being a stealth virus (this being a referance to the true virus for it's at 1st virtually undetecable until it does something), however she would rather take a more humoruos approach to things rather than be malicious. Cascade-tan is quite the quirky one, often saying random phrases when she gets the chance, this more often than not derails the person's train of thought or concentration. Cascade also has an uncanny ability that allows her to control text, words or speech, this being said, Cascade only uses this ability to make others look, well...stupid (ex-she'll use her ablilty to make some one speak jibberish or mix up words so they can't read them). This ablility is a referance to the virus itself, for the Cascade virus functions by 'pulling' any text typed on the infected computer into a pile. Similar to Bliss-tan, Cascade isn't neccisarilly considered 'Malicious' but rather is a nusciance to those around her. She is usually found in the company of Rabbit.exe-tan. Cascade is often referred to as 'Mikuru's Sister' for her (unintentional) resemblence to Mikuru Asahina from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Cerberus

Cerberus-tan is a rough, and tough virus-tan with a dog like dispostion, who is also a faithful bodygaurd of Viru-tan. Cerberus-tan's appearance is based on the mythological monster 'Cerberus' (her dog ears, paws and collar) while her tail is coined from Kerberos from Card Captor Sakura (there are designs of angel like wings on the back of Cerberus-tan's jacket, these desgins are also a referance to Kerberos), her attire has a sort of urban/street feeling to it. Cerberus-tan (as stated above) is quite the rough one, and is definetly someone you don't want to annoy, for she's been known to get pretty violent with those who really piss her off. However, despite her imposing disposition, she is faithfully loyal and protective to those she's close to (much like a dog), this being said, it is not uncommon for her to put her life on the line in order to protect her fellow virus-tans from just about anything she sees as a threat. Cerberus-tan is currently the bodygaurd of Viru-sama, and is very devoted to her position as well (another referance to 'Cerberus' for he was the gaurd dog of Hades).

Cerberus-tan has a bad habit of chasing strange things, this includes but is not limited to; butterflies, birds, cars and even her own tail. Her collar seems to have a broken chain attached to it, which points to the fact that Cerberus-tan may have escaped from somewhere, but she never really says anything about her past, or where she was born, so it's currently unknown as to why it's broken. She dislikes NT-tan (Inu-T), and whenever they meet, the 2 of them begin barking at one another...literally, however these 'disputes' rarely escalate to anything violent, she and Acme-tan are also locked in a rivalry of their own, though it seems to be on more friendly terms. It is unclear if Cerberus-tan is a general, like (c)Brain-tan, for she is close to Viru-sama and those close to Viru-sama are considered high in rank, but she doesn't seem to really want to cause any direct mayhem for the OS-tans themselves, instead she claims that I'm just doin my job as a gaurdian. Cerberus-tan does enjoy being scratched behind her ears and on her tummy, but dislikes loud noises, and bad smells. Cerberus-tan is also quite skilled with a wooden sword and is said to rival even 95-tan in combat. It is also believed that she used to be apart of a street gang before she became a bodygaurd to Viru-sama.

Christmas Tree

Christmas Tree-tan- A Christmas loving virus, who only makes herself known on Christmas. Jolly, and somewhat oblivious to other peoples feelings toward the holiday, Christmas Tree-tan often goes about her 'duty' spreading her version of 'Holiday Cheer' regardless if your in the mood for it or not. Her known activites include; putting up decorations (without anyone's consent) singing christmas carols, and giving out hand-made presents...which are of subpar workmanship and are basically worthless at best, however she does throw a smashing good christmas party in which all are invited, be you Virus or OS your welcome to come. at first glance, she doesn't seem to have any ill-intentions in mind (at least judging by her personality) but being she's only seen when once a year, no one's really given the time to look into her more. However, one can assume that beyond her 'Holiday Spirit' she harbours a more sinister motive.

As said above Christmas-Tree-tan is only seen when Christmas draws near (Decemeber 21 to be exact) after the New Year she retreats from wence she came, not to be seen until next year. Where exactly she goes is unknown, there have been numerous attempts to uncover her seasonal hideway, but paths always led to large evergreen tree with the words 'NOEL' carved on the trunk, which raises the question 'Is Christmas Tree-tan truly a virus?...or is she just a magically enchanted tree given life to spread 'Holiday Cheer' and the 'True Meaning of Christmas'? wheather it's the latter or not is currently unknown but Brain-sama theorizes that she is both of these things. Her role isn't neccisarilly binded to the Virus-tans, she has been sighted doing her 'duty' amoungst the OS-tans, and even gives each of them a present (which is just a picture of a crudely drawn christmas tree, it is known that she drew these herself...). The lights and 'decorations' on her dress are tied into her emotions, and their brightness is dependent on how she feels; If she's happy the lights will brighten and twinkle in a jolly manner, if she's unhappy or distressed the lights will dim, it is believed that if the lights ever go completely out, she'll die. She also seems to be of German decsent and has some knowledge of her native langauge.
