@Kari: I nearly bought the DS port of Disgaea today, but I passed on it since I already own the PSP version (Which has all the same features) and the PS2 version

Chocofreak13

yeah.....unless you're a completist i can't see much reason to buy it in that case. :\

Bella

AAAH I DID IT IN ONE SHOT YOU GUYS! [Again, I'm gonna spoiler-tag this for Pitkin]
I DON'T KNOW HOW SINCE I WAS FUMBLING ALL OVER THE PLACE AND ONLY HAD LIKE TWO SECONDS LEFT BEFORE THE CLOCK RAN OUT, BUT I MANAGED TO GET THE LAST PERSONALITY CORE INTO THE INCINERATOR ON TIME.

>GLaDOS dies
>Chokes up, sheds single tear
>RIP sweet angel you were too beautiful and psychotically-deranged for this world
>Curses Valve devs, Chell x GLaDOS fanartists and fanfic writers for making me feel things for a murderous computer
>Things nobody should feel for a murderous computer
>Also those various people who wrote lesbian / feminist / progressive interpretations for Portal
>Also that guy who came up with the "GLaDOS wanted Chell to kill her all along, so she'd be put out of her misery" interpretation
>Yeah, fuck you man, that makes it even sadder
>You've all ruined my life
>Because now I ship an insane murder-puter and her unwilling test subject

Is it bad that I imagined the Party Escort Associate being a mechanical Pinkie Pie? :p

I mean, until I read the Lab Rat comic. WHICH PUNCHED ME THE THE FEELS SOME MORE. ;_;
Anyway I started on Portal 2 today. Thoughts so far:

1) Wheatley is a cool bro I didn't know if i'd like him but so far I do.
2) I'm surprised how easy these Test Chambers have been so far ... though I'm only up to the second chamber in Chapter 3 so I'm probably going to be kicking myself for saying this in a little while.
3) Are there improved controls in this game? IDK steering and everything seems easier than it did in the first game.

And finally....
4) OH GOD GLADOS IS SO TSUNTSUN I'M GONNA DIE. 0___0
Penti-chan
Mechanical Pinkie Pie is Party Escort. That is now headcanon
Also, that comic was good :3
I do believe the controls were improved in Portal 2. Which, I need to play that one through again; I haven't played it since I beat it ages ago
I'M A POTATO
is it weird that Disgaea gave me ideas for Ace's High? (probably no less weird than me wanting to do a fan comic based off my characters in the game.)

Penti-chan

Not that weird. I mean, I got ideas for the Director Who saga from just about everything under the sun, including Disgaea  -w-;

Bella

@Kari: Agreeing with Pent, it's not weird to take inspiration from things you enjoy. :)

Chocofreak13

only trouble is i suck at drawing the things i want to use, or at the very least i'm not good at drawing off of them. i know what i want to do, but i'm having trouble doing it. >>;

not to turn this into an art thread, but bells, didn't you promise to do some fanart for me....? >>;

NejinOniwa

On that topic, K, what happened to the picture of the Vandelin queen I asked you for?
YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS

Chocofreak13

come to think of it, i still have a picture i drew for you that i need to upload, too. :0

heh, guess i should do that. mind PMing me the character details, nej, with a bit more detail this time =w=;;

most of the video games i play these days are iphone games ~__~;

Penti-chan

*is still waiting for Penti-chan drawing from Bella*

So, although I'm enjoying having my N64 setup and playing classics like Mario and Zelda, part of me is thinking about moving my PS2 to my room and finally getting back to Persona 3 FES

I have an enormous drawing backlog (I'm just now getting around to working on a pic that I've been meaning to since March). Also, I was never totally sure what / who you wanted me to draw anyway, and lack of specifics tend to slow the process even more.

Up to Chapter 6 in Portal 2, thoughts so far:
1) DAMMIT WHEATLEY, MESSING UP CHELL AND GLADOS' QUALITY TESTING TIME. Those test chambers were fun, too. ;___;

2) Not gonna lie, during the escape when there was the option to keep following Wheatley or go into GLaDOS' test chamber I totally went into the test chamber. Because GLaDOS n' hearts n' stuff. And then she killed me ...

3) When I saw the turret assembly / disposal line and I felt instantly terrible about all the turrets I'd been gleefully killing. (I did save the Different one though, does that redeem me any?) ;_____;

4) I don't think "Oooh oooh I get to be sassed by GLaDOS some more! Face to face!" is the correct reaction to being pushed into her chamber. YET IT TOTALLY WAS. (◕‿◕✿)

4.5) Because more Chell & GLaDOS quality time~ (◡‿◡✿)

5) AH FUCK IT WHEATLEY, YOU'RE SUCH A COCKBLOCK... proverbially speaking that is. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

6) I can't imagine it was intentional, but I feel like the scene where Wheatley forces you to betray GLaDOS and then takes over her chassis has a hidden message about gender politics. Okay, so guy (Wheatley) teams up with girl (Chell) under the guise of helping her escape from the female authority / matriarch-figure (GLaDOS), but it was really to further his own agenda. (Unless he was sized with power ONLY when he was transferred into GLaDOS's chasis ... but that would still be a commentary on men being willing to turn on female comrades once they're in a position of power) Guy violently attacks said matriarch and demeans / humiliates her, while also turning on the girl he was supposed to be helping. And then he literally disposes of them both. There's also the matter of GLaDOS being insane and murderous but highly intelligent and scientifically-minded while Wheatley is just an opportunistic idiot (or so she says). IDK brah, that sounds like a commentary on the patriarchy if you ask me.

7) NO, I LOST POTaDOS! GIVE HER BACK, BIRDS!

8) Wow the old testing facility is creepy. So far, the overall atmosphere / design style makes me think of the Dharma Initiative from Lost. (60/70s retrofuturism,  mysterious announcements, huge, dangerous projects for the advancement of science, reckless endangerment of test subjects, underground bases, creepy hatches, mad science, meddling with the space-time continuum ....... and they're both apparently based in Michigan, so there's that too.
