By FF3 do you mean:

(The real FF3, remade for DS)

...or:

(Which is actually FF6. Thanks, Nintendo; that confused us when FF7 kept the Japanese numbering)

NejinOniwa

The DS remake. But I'm playing it on PSP, because the graphics and controls are better.

First game I bought for my DS was the remake of Jagged Alliance.  It's all the fun of the original but I don't need Windows 95 to run it!

First DS game I bought was Super Mario 64 DS. I still feel it's not as bad as everyone made it out to be; it's like they never played Mega Man Legends or something, as it uses the same basic controls :\

Chocofreak13

the first DS game i bought was nothing
BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE ONE

(but i'm gonna buy Code Lyoko for the DS despite not owning the console)

If you want a DS, a DS Lite would cost me about $60 or so from work if you want to mail me a money order -w-
(Not bad when they originally cost more than double that)

i was thinking of looking on ebay for a regular ol' DS. is there any difference in the versions, though?

To give you a rundown, since I've owned almost every model: (All prices approximate)

DS (original model): <$50
+ Will be the cheapest option; usually under $50
+ Has clicky buttons like the Game Boy Advance SP, and a large D-Pad
+ Has a GBA slot; so you can play your GBA games on it (Game Boy Color games, however, do not work)
- Only gets about 6 to 10 hours of battery life per charge
- Is bulky
- Screens only have one brightness setting

DS Lite: $60-$70
+ 4 brightness levels for the screens
+ Improved battery life (Up to 19 hours on the lowest brightness setting)
+ Smaller form factor
+ Has Game Boy Color style buttons and D-Pad
- Game Boy Advance games stick out about an inch from the bottom when inserted (Has a dust cover for when you're not playing GBA games, though)

DSi: $80
+ Has improved internet capabilities; including a web browser you don't need to buy extra
+ Has a (crappy) camera
+ Allows you to download some games from the DSi Shop
+ Is slightly wider than DS Lite; which for me made it even more comfortable
+ Buttons revert back to the clicky style of the first DS
- Battery life isn't as good as DS Lite (Up to 14 hours on lowest brightness setting)
- GBA slot was removed
- Has more powerful hardware but was criminally underutilized due to Nintendo pushing the camera over everything else

3DS: $160
+ Plays any and all DS games, as well as 3DS games
+ The 3D can be turned off
+ A wider selection of games in the eShop; including big-name 3DS titles like Super Mario 3D Land, classics like Zelda: Link's Awakening, and other stuff
+ Buttons revert to the same style as DS Lite
- Is the most expensive option
- The worst battery life due to how much stuff it has to push in the background (Up to 8 hours on DS games, and up to 5 hours on 3DS games)

Chocofreak13

if that's the case, then, i'll scour amazon for a dslite. thanks man~ :3
