Title: FOSA Lite
Post by: C-Chan on June 11, 2008, 10:03:42 PM
Hello all.  ^^
Don't mind the informality of this first post, as I intend to make this the index.  post for subsequent projects.

I'm starting this new thread thanks to a growing interest by Bella-hime and Aurora-hime to complete one of my old "abandoned" drawings (the Ballroom Amiga-Me-tan picture).  I also intend to make my z/OS-sama picture a collaborative effort, so such a project would be at home here; and depending on how this progresses, it may be home to other mini collaborative projects.

Just as a reminder for Bella and Aurora, the SAUCE file for that pic can be found here:

http://ostan-collections.net/downloads.php?view=detail&id=118

My reward still remains:  2 free OS-tan Minis of your choice for each of you if you can complete the image.  That, and of course my undying worship.  ^^

Aurora-san, how do you want to divvy this up? I have two proposals, but I'm open to input.

1) I finish Amiga-san (as in, shading, highlighting, detail), you finish ME-tan. Or vice versa; I'd just rather work on Miggy-sama, I guess ;)
2) One of us does the shading on both characters, the other does the fine detail work

I would hate for us to have to do double the work. We should each know exactly what we have to do.

I'll go with the first plan. You work on Amiga-tan, I work on ME-tan. I think that sounds good ;012

Oh and one other thing...what side are you going to shade? I mean, left or right? Because I'm doing the shadows on the left (it'll look off if the shading on ME-tan is opposite of Amiga-tan) ;)

I haven't gotten started yet so I will go with what you did. Very well then, shadows to the left!

Okay, sounds like we have everything figured out...

This was about an hours work:

(http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s320/BellasOS-tans/MEamiga.png)

Modifications to the vector sketch include making Amiga-tan's eyes a bit smaller, blurring the shading on her irises, making the whites of the eyes a gray-to-white gradient, removing the black stroke around her eyes, I lowered her mouth a bit, changed the eyebrows and folds above the eyes, and gave her new bangs in the front.

I did shading on her face, body, hair and dress, though I may have to do a bit more highlight work.

Very good! ;019

But will you be able to post the updated svg so I can do my part too? (something I forgot to mention in my last post, remembered RIGHT after I finished my reply and quit my browser T__T)

But move on the left, the curl hair of ME-Tan...

It seems she is making "tickles" with the curl on the face of Amiga-Sama...

Sorry I can't say much now,... too many things have converged prior to my vacation, and I'm just plain going nuts.  @v@'

But I love what I'm seeing (here and with your other drawings) and loving every bit of it.  Thank you so much for your incredible work as always!!  ^V^

You two better start thinking up your Minis, as clearly I'm gonna draw them with pride.  ^^

Please wait for me reply once things calm down a bit on my end.  ^.^

Cheers,

C-chan

PS:  Oh, and Raffaele-san,... she IS supposed to be tickling Amiga-sama.  I'm not gonna say that at least some minor suggestive "shipping" is entirely absent from the picture.  Maybe not to the extent of Abraxis/Fried Chicken Linux, but it might be there.  ^^;

OMG! We're doing more shipping than Amazon.com on the run-up to Christmas! Abraxis and Fried Chicken Linux-tan! Slackware-tan and any Unix-tan in a three-mile radius! Miggy and Zorro-kun, Me-tan, DragonflyBSD, ReactionGuy and whoever else we can throw in there!

....

And Mac and PC dude, 'course :P

QuoteOkay, sounds like we have everything figured out...

This was about an hours work:

*squeals with delight*

Thank you so much for the first round of mods to this pic, Bella-san.  ^.^
How do you want your worship?  Regular, Spicy, or Extra Crispy?  ^v^

QuoteModifications to the vector sketch include making Amiga-tan's eyes a bit smaller,

Definitely a priority, since she was a bit bug-eyed originally.  Thank ye.  ^__^

Quoteblurring the shading on her irises, making the whites of the eyes a gray-to-white gradient, removing the black stroke around her eyes,

Or basically, just modernizing her eyes -- the black strokes especially are antiquated compared to the much finer drawing methods we employ today.  ^.^

I wish I could post up the original Amiga-sama or C64-Amiga for similar modernization, but those two are hybrid pics (half done in Photoshop and Inkscape) so it's not possible to do an all-out source release unless I reverse-engineer the raster portions (in which case, it's probably easier if I revise my work myself).  ^v^;

QuoteI lowered her mouth a bit,

For the more adult look -- good.  ^.^

Quotechanged the eyebrows and folds above the eyes

For sexiness accentuation -- good.  ^__^

Quoteand gave her new bangs in the front.

Notwithstanding your RL opinions about bangs -- good.  ^v^'

QuoteI did shading on her face, body, hair and dress, though I may have to do a bit more highlight work.

Her Gala dress was definitely one of the most neglected aspects of her dress, especially since I could use the excuse that ME-tan covered well over half of it.  Thank you very much -- I have full confidence in your superior fashion skills. ^__^

Aurora-hime, I also look forward to your work on ME-chan.  ^^
I'm guessing you're both taking turns rather than working concurrently on each other's parts -- nonetheless, if I can finish the Amigoid picture today/tomorrow, I'd love to pitch in and issue an updated flower "bouquet".  It's tucked away at the top where it disturbs no one's work -- and besides that, it's something that definitely needs updating, since I drew the original more as a concept than an actual finished product.  ^___^

Then there's the matter of the background, although at the moment I'm not sure what it'll be.  My original idea was to create a stylized pink background with sparkles and flowing things (not unlike a dream sequence), but given this is an SVG it can be practically anything we want.  ^^

Quote*suspicious cough*

ACK, ACK, VMS-SAMA ACK....

And I can make #2 FreeVMS-chan, no?  ^___^

QuoteOMG!

With Miggy-chan there's a HUGE list of would-be fanbois and "fangois" -- unlike TOS-chan, she is still very much sought after.  ^^

Don't forget the old classics: Hacchan+[censored], Homeko+[censored], CE-tan+[censored], Sonata-sama+[censored], and so and so forth.  ^^;

ME-tan + Amiga-tan, revision 2:

(http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b342/CaptainMiko/MEamigarev2.png)

The most notable differences are the addition of shading and the redone braids. I tried to make the braids more realistic but after more than an hour of trying and stuggling, I settled on something simpler

Thank you very much you two for staying on top of this.  The pair is looking lovelier by the minute.  ^.^

I'm sorry to report that my "vacation" has ended up looking almost like a real vacation, with 40% less work than forecasted.  @__@
Granted there was some nice delicious work, but mainly gardening and drawing a few things for my brother's next work.  ^^

That means no bouquet or BSD-tans... *C-chan downgrades to level of dirt*... but never fear, as that doesn't mean I won't do either of these.  Just means I'll post them up during the weekdays.  ^___^

In the meantime, I need to wrap up my brief resting period so I'll have to call it a day.  I do look forward to my inevitable return and bucket-loads of responses -- clearly there's quite a lot to talk about.  ^^

C ya!  ^v^

Nah, that would be "KHorror"; no KDE app has hyphens.
Silly Bella, tricks are for kids.....  ^__^

Like it's counterpart "J-Horror", K-Horror is short for Korean horror movies. which also shares the same appreciation for subtle, creepy imagery and a very frugal (and thus realistic) use of special effects.  I watched The Ghost, Epitaph and Red Shoes, and although not a horror film per se, I also watched "The Host", which is by far the most intelligent monster movie I've seen.  @v@

Ironically, I considered the Thai horror movie "Shutter" to be the scariest cream of the crop bar none, despite its lower budget and the far more... shall we say "acceptive" cultural position on ghosts.  Sometimes a movie is so masterfully-made, it transcends boundaries on what SHOULD be a tried-and-true formula.   ^^

But enough about horror stuff,... I'm here to drool and by the bucket-full!  ^V^

*drools*

In any event, I'll work on the bouquet tonight to compliment all the nice fixings you two have added to the picture.  A heartfelt thank you to you both for your hard work!  ^^

Quote*Your proper response would be, "no, the mouse in your shirt pocket. YES YOU!"*

Well, as promised in another thread, it's time to consider a restart of the Zerosanity XMas Special -- it literally stopped somewhere past midway through the story.  ^^;

So why am I posting it here?  Cause it seems like the perfect candidate for open design.  ^___^

In any event, my first post is Page 5, Panes 9 and 10, the raw sketch versions.  Aurora-hime finished sketching Page 9, but I believe Page 10 is still untouched.  During the weekend I'll begin work on Page 6, Pane 11 if all goes well.  Admittedly went a little overboard with the detail in Page 5, so will try to tone it down again.  ^___^'

Alrighty!  As promised to Aurora-hime ENDLESSLY for the past couple of weeks, I've now begun work on Panel 11 of the revived Zerosanity XMAS special.  Given we're already in August, I reckon you can say I'm getting a head-start on NEXT Christmas.  ^^;

Currently have only one panel done, but it's one of those overly-detailed ones that I have to remember to stop doing (just couldn't help myself, too inspired...).

It features 80% Aurora-hime characters, with Mugshot-tan bawling her eyes out because she received an alarm clock for Christmas.  This, and her antler ears (the same ones the virus-tans are using) are small tributes to Aurora-hime's FIRST Christmas picture, which had Mugshot-tan as the reindeer.  She was supposed to resume her role this year, but... apparently... overslept.  ^____^;

Then we have FOOBIES-chan somewhat wasted on egg nog (another nod to Aurora-hime's first XMAS pic), wearing an underwire brassiere on he head, but otherwise just being herself.  ^V^;

Meanwhile, TotalfFark-tan, the owner of the hot dog stand they're in, is busy gorging herself on a giant bottle of mustard that Santa graciously left her.  It's a shame I couldn't really capture her height, or make the same kind of mess that Aurora and I planned for that panel -- but I think it makes the point cleanly and cutely that she's.... perhaps.... not all right upstairs.  ^.^

And if you're wondering why the two OSR sisters are in a hot dog stand during the wee hours of the morning.... Best bet is not to ask.  ^^;
All you should know is that TotalFark-tan asked them to hold on to her placards while she feasted.  Rather than file a complaint to the local food and safety department, OSR 2.5-sama has opted to use the same placards to express being grossed out.  But OSR 2.1-sama, ever the sweet, curious soul, is more fascinated by the never-ending pile of placards instead.  ^___^

HAHAHAHAHA! On my GAWD that is just TOO FUNNY!  ;027 Your really gave this your 100+%

The "To Sleepyhead" tag on Mugshot-tan's present is an excellent touch! (Although Red Hat-tan should have waken her up in time on the first place but I guess she forgot too!) And I see you remembered the Xmas picture I drew in 2006, although it is sooooooooo outdated by now! ^^;

Foobies-tan and TotalFark-tan are both simply hilarious and I like OSR 2.5-tan's reaction! (Incidentally, there is a "Sick" tag on Fark, although it is in grey) OSR 2.1-tan curiously looking at all of the placards is very cute!

More like 70% really.  If I gave it 100%, I would've had it shaded too.   ^^;

But I know you wanted to do that last time -- besides, I'd rather just get the story moving along.  I'm trying to brainstorm ways to shorten the original ending even more.  In fact, I'm gearing towards having Fedora-chan be a little more... shall we say, "proactive".  ^.^

Not sure if those tags exist in Fark or not ("Hungry", "Happy", "Psycho", etc) -- if you can find out, let me know so I can get the right colors. ^^

Also, this wasn't really what I had in mind when I said I wanted to draw OSR 2.1-sama, but at least it's a good placeholder while I get the rest of the comic done. After that,... who knows... maybe I'll.... "extend" my OSR 2.5-sama portraiture.  ^.^

At last!!!  I finally finally FINALLY get back to work on the XMAS comic!  ^V^

Did this in one quick swoop... though it feels a bit sketchy, I think it conveys the feel of the Unix panel.  We have UNIX-sama enjoying her annual Xmas present, with Solaris-sama alongside as a kind of over-dressed footmaid.  IRIX-sama, AIX-sama [w/ prisoner] and HP-UX-sama are outside on the fortress ramparts, "enjoying" their Festivus-inspired procession (a precursor to the Airing of Grievances, replacing the traditional dinner and booze).

Probably would be a good time to note that interrupting a Festivus ceremony by the Unices is punished,... just a tad bit strictly.  UNIX-sama just made sure to enforce it AFTER she got her present.  ^^;

This is technically a post-n-go as I'm a bit late, but I'll return to answer stuff.  Not too much, though,.... I also want to try to use the momentum to get the CIOST panel done.  ^__^

Wait...wut....is that sum chibi Unix-sama?

The Goddess might be fine with this, but I'd watch my back for a crazed Slackware-chan if I were you.

This is a really adorable panel, though! All the characters are cute (though, in honesty, HP-UX-tan looks a but like Unixware-tan). I love all the little details like Duke hiding behind Solaris-san, IRIX-tan carrying the Unix staff/Festivus pole, and how you picked out very good color schemes for AIX and...that other Unix-tan :P

And in the background--are those a bunch of flaming arrows and lasers being shot at Redhat-tan's sleigh?

All in all, one of my favorite panels to date! I wonder why...?

Oh, and I didn't even comment on the last panel with the Fark-tans and Mugshot-tan: SICK! In a great way! XD

QuoteWait...wut....is that sum chibi Unix-sama?

Sacriligious, huh?  ^___^'

Well the whole comic is kinda chibified, so it was only inevitable. ^^;

I actually drew her rather quickly -- I figure her design still needs some more polish.  ^.^;

*fidgets*

...After I'm done with the CIOST and Binteji panels.  ^^;

*starts frantically evading hail of boots*

QuoteThe Goddess might be fine with this, but I'd watch my back for a crazed Slackware-chan if I were you.

You mean the Slackware-chan who's stuck in an airship, busy helping UNIX-sama coordinate Project Santa?

Yeah, this is UNIX-sama's "Me" time, and she's making the best of it.  ^^;

QuoteThis is a really adorable panel, though! All the characters are cute (though, in honesty, HP-UX-tan looks a but like Unixware-tan).

Okay, I admit, I goofed big time here.  ^^;

I actually began this panel a few weeks ago, and simply resumed it yesterday.  In that time, I obviously got all the names confused.  ^^;

AIX-tan is actually supposed to be HP UX-tan.
And HP UX-tan is actually supposed to be Unixware-tan.

Probably easier if you just squash me now and get it over with.  ^___________^;

In any event, I've got some massive color corrections to do.  -v-;

Also, noticed another goof where Unixware-tan's massive cowlick is positioned UNDERNEATH the trim of her dress,... Bad C-chan.  X__X

QuoteI love all the little details like Duke hiding behind Solaris-san

I want to promolgate the notion that Duke-kun lives on Solaris-sama (much like the DSL's live in Mac-tan's apple), and just pops out randomly from time to time.  ^^

QuoteIRIX-tan carrying the Unix staff/Festivus pole

Of course.  And she was the easiest, since she actually had a REAL color scheme.  ^.^

QuoteAnd in the background--are those a bunch of flaming arrows and lasers being shot at Redhat-tan's sleigh?

Nope, a bit more down to earth (UNIX-sama isn't one to dwell on fancy weapons, after all).  ^^

The thin orange tracers are standard Anti-Aircraft gun shells, the blue orbs are kinetic energy weapon projectiles,  the objects tagging her are a salvo of Surface-to-Air missiles, and all the black smoke in the sky is just plain ol' flak.  I'm guessing the flak could use a little blurring.  ^___^

Actually, UNIX-sama can't be blamed ENTIRELY for the going-away "party".  A lot of hard-lined Unix-tans would absolutelY JUMP at the opportunity to make RedHat-san.......... uncomfortable.  ^^;

QuoteAll in all, one of my favorite panels to date! I wonder why...?

Fufufu... Probably cause it contains the greatest concentration of Bella-produced characters.  Wait till you see the CIOST one in the works.  ^____^

Speaking of wondering,... did you notice that all of UNIX-sama's daughters are bearing the exact same "please-kill-me-NAU" expression?  ^________^

Hahaha! Unix-sama is unaware of that she was naughty that year! Unless... she really DID ask for coal!

I'm going to try and celebrate Festivus this year! I tried to last year with my family but they didn't like it T_T

I did get confused about the last two Unices in the background (didn't know who the one in grey is, suspected the last one was actually Unixware-tan)

BWAHA!  I don't think she has to ask for it,... she's always naughty enough to get it every year.  Sort of a family tradition by now.  ^____^;

Couldn't get started on the CIOST panel though -- maybe tomorrow.

Oooh, I like how it looks a lot better now! Good job! :D

QuoteYou mean the Slackware-chan who's stuck in an airship, busy helping UNIX-sama coordinate Project Santa?

Yeah, this is UNIX-sama's "Me" time, and she's making the best of it. ^^;

You meant Linux-sama in the first line, right? :P

But I bet Unix-sama is happy with coal. The Unixes’ first choice of gift to her was probably going to be gift-wrapping Slackware-chan and offering her as Unix-sama’s indentured servant for a week. And oh yes--Slack-chan would offer all her services, including but not limited to:
- chef
- masseuse
- fashionist/stylist
- maid (French or non-French)
- chauffeur
- doorman
- food-taster,
- boot and/or book-throwing practice target
- witty breakfast/lunch/dinner mate
- sympathetic ear, and
- attentive student in the mysteries of Unix Philosophy.

But then I guess they figured that would be more of a gift to Slack-chan than Unix-sama XD

QuoteI actually began this panel a few weeks ago, and simply resumed it yesterday. In that time, I obviously got all the names confused. ^^;

Oh, I see…hey, let’s call this even for my inability to remember the names of the newest Commodore sisters (red haired one=VIC20, purple haired one=C128, pirate girl=C65!)

QuoteI want to promolgate the notion that Duke-kun lives on Solaris-sama (much like the DSL's live in Mac-tan's apple), and just pops out randomly from time to time. ^^

Oh shi--that baby pyramid head thingy lives on her O__O’

I also want to promulgate the idea that Solaris-sama has magnetic generating/manipulating powers, but I’m gonna save it for the Theories thread :P

QuoteNope, a bit more down to earth (UNIX-sama isn't one to dwell on fancy weapons, after all). ^^

Sounds like another successful Festivus if you ask me.

QuoteSpeaking of wondering,... did you notice that all of UNIX-sama's daughters are bearing the exact same "please-kill-me-NAU" expression? ^________^

Lots of ground to cover today.  ^___^
Want to get as much stuff replied to, since I can't concentrate on drawing while questions need to be answered and swoonage properly dispensed.  ^.^

QuoteThe expressions are wonderful and Christmas Tree-tan is a hilarious prisoner!

Thank you Siya-san!  Yes, even as she's en route (perhaps unknowingly) for some good ol' fashioned Unix interrogation, Christmas Tree-tan still manages to put on a wonderful little smile.  Guess it's easy when you're job is to be a viral christmas ornament.  ^^

QuoteOooh, I like how it looks a lot better now! Good job!

Actually, I still left two bloopers by accident:

1) Unixware still has the HP logo hairclip.  ^^;

2) I forgot to add the bag of coal with the decorative bow.  ^.^;

Oh well, no need to upload a new picture just for those nitpicks.  ^__^

QuoteYou meant Linux-sama in the first line, right? :P

uh............  >.>;

Um,... yeah!  It actually does read "LInux-sama".  Just so happens taht the "L" and the "I" are stuck together.  Mmm-hmmm... yeah, that must be the case.  <.<;

But then I guess they figured that would be more of a gift to Slack-chan than Unix-sama XD

And that's also a double-edged sword -- when Slack-chan is not glued to the Goddess, she has a habit of annoying the hell out of her daughters [inadvertently of course, but they don't realize that].  ^____^

QuoteOh shi--that baby pyramid head thingy lives on her O__O’

In retrospect, that doesn't read quite right, does it?  ^.^'
Let's just clarify that Duke-kun lives in her dress pocket (when she wears that elegant yellow gown), or behind her hair (when she wears her waitress attire).

QuoteI also want to promulgate the idea that Solaris-sama has magnetic generating/manipulating powers, but I’m gonna save it for the Theories thread :P

Well I did used to think that one of her powers would be the manipulation of solar flares, which she could use to toast her opponents from above.  The ability to create temporary gaps in earth's magnetic field would probably help better explain how she "dun it".  -v-

QuoteThat’s the CIOST’s job, right?

Correct!  Although thanks to the small real-estate in the panels, not sure if I can show that off very well in the CIOST panel.  -.-

Oooh, nuthin' like a dose of gamma radiation to gentle a would-be attacker.

I also tossed around the idea--in my head--that she could sort of screw with her opponents’ emotions without them knowing it though telepathy (not that she could necessarily see their thoughts, however). A blatant reference to the novel/movie Solaris (in which a sentient extraterrestrial structure upon a planet could amplify repressed emotions and memories in the scientists trying to make contact with it).

Now that you mention it, Solaris-sama doesn't get much attention, does she...?

But onto topic...

I never thought I'd see the day where I'd like seeing a Santa-like character getting kicked in the face by an angry fighter...

...but clearly that's changed! eCOS-chan is looking suitably happy here, and I really like the inclusion of Minuet and TRON-tan. The Virutans with their (probably stolen) credit cards is hilarious, as is the fighting-game display at the top of the panel. And I suppose that's either some random cruise ship or the top of their submarine in the background? :P

HI ALL!!
Very very very very VERY happy to report the completion of the CIOST panel!  ^v^
Turns out I managed to find creative ways to insert all the CIOST characters i wanted... course, since it's hard to really appreciate the detail on some of them, you're welcomed to view them in the original SVG (each character is grouped, so it's easy to select and move them).

QuoteHahahahaha-- OH! That's going to leave a mark! Poor Red Hat-tan, getting PWNED Street Fighter-style and that the virus-tans are all betting against her!

Well, Spida and Bliss-chan are too nice to bet against Santa.  ^^
However, that does beg the question: are they panicking because their boss is getting clobbered, or because they're gonna lose their bets big time?  ^.^;

BTW, as Bella-hime guessed correctly, the universally-accepted currency of the virus-tans are indeed stolen credit cards.  You can zoom in using the SVG to see which kind.  ^____^

QuoteIt looks like MenuetOS-tan and TRON-tan are chatting about how hilariously one-sided the fight is!

Probably,... but they could also be bored with the spectacle and just be talking nerdling stuff.  ^.^

Clearly IMSAI8080 and BeOS-chan are disinterested-enough to do something else.  ^________^'

QuoteAnd I suppose that's either some random cruise ship or the top of their submarine in the background? :P

It's the top of their submarine, but I did use pictures of cruise ships at night for reference.  Given their advanced technology, stealth is virtually useless to them so they can afford to make their warships rather flashy.  ^^;

Added after 3 minutes:

===================================

Don't mind me if I disappear for most of the rest of the day, but I'll be sure to leave all my responses in time.  ^___^

As for the remaining panel, it'll be something of a surprise.  ^.^

Actually, Aurora-hime may know a little about what it's gonna be about, but it will also contain a few new surprises.  ^___^

And I see more characters added into the CIOST panel! There is PRIMOS, IMSAI 8080 and BeOS (who are both not paying any attention to the fight! But seeing the two of them playing that board game, those two would make good friends! Both are highly intelligent and have a similar eccentric fashion sense!), OpenVMS, FreeVMS and GECOS!

Oh wow! Awesome! I checked out the SVG for a closer look. ISMAI and BeOS-tan are really cute, and could almost pass as sisters. PrimOS-tan is a nice inclusion, as is VMS-sama. Awww, you took the initiative and drew FreeVMS-chan! I’ve been trying to figure out what color scheme I should use.

And at first I couldn’t figure out who that yellow-eyed character on the far right was, but then it came to me: that evil grimace, that deviant look in her eye, it must be God’s Exclusively Chosen Operating System: GECOS-sama! She’s probably just happy seeing a great-great-great-granddaughter of Multics-sama--in theory--being trounced.

Though I did want to add IMSAI-tan originally, it didn't occur to me that the two were so similar until I had them together!  Then I felt I just HAD to capitalize the fact!

And what better way to do it than to have them play such a time-honored game of strategy that also just so happens to also match their mutual color combinations (aka, Battleship).  ^.^

QuoteHaha! I saw Visa, Mastercard, AmEx., and Discover XD

Correct!  One of the oh-so-many Easter Eggs I like to sprinkle.  ^__^

The colors are based on her logo, and the hair (as well as ribbons) are meant to have a subtle alluson to Inu-T's appearance (call it a curious genetic similarity).  ^_________^

Wha?  Huh?  There's someone behind VMS-sama?  I don't see anything, do you? ^-^

No but seriously,... that is GECOS-sama looking all secretive and stuff.  If you ungroup her and remover her cloak, you'll be able to see how far I went making her head and hair. ^___^

Not only is she trying to keep a low profile, but she's also something of the "old hag" now to all these insanely-powerful youngsters surrounding her.  She's a brilliant tactician, is a master of cunning, manipulation and deception, and her power is still nothing to sneeze at.  Problem is that she simply isn't in her prime anymore, and has to rely more and more on others doing her bidding.  -v-

I guess she would take much delight seeing RedHat-sama get walloped -- the fact that she doesn't think the same thing of PrimOS-sama (nearby) just shows that she's smart enough not to pick fights she can't possibly win.  ^^;

QuoteHurrah! You keep packing this panel with more win, C-Chan!

But unless someone wants to volunteer some shadework, that's basically the end of it.  I'm off to more panels.  ^.^

@ FreeVMS/Inu T parallel...wow, that's pretty smart! I'd been racking my mind as to how I could make FreeVMS-chan unique in her own way, and this fits her well!

@ GECOS-san being the CIOST's crazy old Crone: fits her well, I think. But I do think she'd still be fiery enough to pick on some of the Multics-like OS-tans; though it probably would never progress to a real fight (I agree, she probably couldn't handle them).

@ Volunteering shadework: I might, if my busy time of the year hadn't just snuck up on me.

Tonight's a bit of maintenance posting.  ^.^

I actually have been pretty uninspired this week (or rather, I've been TOO inspired by my Python work), so I've been unable to really get anything going with the Vintage Panel.  But I do hope to finish it eventually -- after which, I'll take a small hiatus from the Xmas Comic to work on some of my other commitments (like the BSDs and the Commodores).  ^___^

Quote@ FreeVMS/Inu T parallel...wow, that's pretty smart! I'd been racking my mind as to how I could make FreeVMS-chan unique in her own way, and this fits her well!

Just a small drop of Inu-T should do.  ^.^

"Crone"!  That's right!  That's the word I was looking for.  ^.^
And agreed,... she likes to torment the likes of PrimOS as well as any UNIX-likes among the ranks, but not to the point where she ends up on the wrong end of a stick, sword, fist, or fiery magic blast.

Quote@ Volunteering shadework: I might, if my busy time of the year hadn't just snuck up on me.

No real pressure on it, though.  The comic looks alright in its current state, even though it wouldn't necessarily blend with the first couple of pages.  -v-

Wow this thread has been collecting cobwebs.... -v-

I was hoping to get the Binteji Renmei panel completed, but insipration never materialized until now.  The end result doesn't feature as many characters as I wanted (I couldn't add GEOS-tan after all,  but I think it still makes the point regardless (the point being that the vintage girls ahve a different interpretation of the word "gift").  ^^'

Maybe I'll stop by later to give some more detail, but this is the last Zerosanity XMAS panel that I'm going to draw with any detail.  In order to conclude the story before C-Day, I'm thinking of employing what I call "Dango Storyboards" to get an idea of character placement, expressions and dialogue.  Should help Aurora-hime finish this comic if she wants to get it completed by Christmas.  ^^

Very different from what you originally had in mind (all the way back when we were working on this last year) but just as cute as I could imagine- EXTREME LEVELS OF CUTENESS!

The Vintage-tans singing Xmas carols I think really suits them! I noticed a few easter eggs in the panel:

1: C-One-tan is imitating Red Hat-tan, and her imitations are nearly perfect... Aside from the blue hair, dead green eyes and mechanical ears!

2: They are wearing matching outfits, except for ZX Spectrum-tan (literally, with the clashing colors!) :D

3: PET-chan, Atari DOS-chan and Apple ][-chan are together!

4: The modified Binteeji Renmei logo, modified for their carol group!

5: PET-chan's pet turtle appears

QuoteVery different from what you originally had in mind (all the way back when we were working on this last year) but just as cute as I could imagine- EXTREME LEVELS OF CUTENESS!

Thank you Aurora-hime.  ^___^
I mentioned back-handedly before that I would change this panel, although I didn't explain why.

1) Despite there being more characters in this version, it's actually a lot easier to draw (having a standard and CUTE uniform helps a lot).  ^.^

2) Just having PET-chan, ][-chan and AtariDOS-chan out in the sea didn't quite strike me as appropriate.  Especially on Christmas Eve/Morning, you'd think the Vintage girls would want to spend some quality time together.

Either way, I think it was for the best cause this scene ends up having a lot more warmth and personality.   ^^

Quote1: C-One-tan is imitating Red Hat-tan, and her imitations are nearly perfect... Aside from the blue hair, dead green eyes and mechanical ears!

Might have noticed that RedHat-san is just the least bit perturbed by it.  ^o^

On a side note, I imagine that C-One's shapeshifting ability has a time limit, although it's dependent on how well the OS-tan she's imitating supports her ability.  She can spend all day imitating any of the Commodore sisters, but only about half an hour as Unix-sama or VMS-sama, and ironically only about a minute or less as any of the Vistans or Leopard-chan.

Quote2: They are wearing matching outfits, except for ZX Spectrum-tan (literally, with the clashing colors!)

Of course I had to do that eventually.  ^.^
I was debating whether to have her eyes open or closed,... but my own personal fatigue eventually decided that.  ^___^

Quote3: PET-chan, Atari DOS-chan and Apple ][-chan are together!

A very small throwback to the original idea I discussed with you.  ^^

QuotePET-chan's pet turtle appears

Also another throwback to the original idea, as I intended to have him do a flyby around the boat.  LOGO-chan's still appropriate to the scene since he's something of the de facto mascot to the Binteji Renmei.  ^^

Fun Fact:  LOGO-chan, the triangular flying turtle, is actually meant to be an abstract knock-off of Tama-chan, Mitsune's flying baby tortoise from Love Hina.

Here's a little more commentary on the scene:

sensu [=paper fan] she uses for her comedy acts -- so you can imagine that if you listen real carefully, you'll notice that she's embellishing the carol lyrics just a bit.  ^^;

- I had plans to include not only GEOS-tan, Adam-tan and C64-tan, but also make debuts of AcornMOS and Amstrad-tan as well.  Time and space constraints nixed that idea, but imagine instead that they're on the sides and didn't appear in the picture taken (or they're part of a second or third carol troupe).

- I didn't plan to have EXEC-sama appear originally, but I had to if GENIAC-chan did so (after all, who else would hold her strings so carefully)?  Might also notice that EXEC-sama's hair is literaly all over the place.  ^___^

- Somehow I see GemOS-chan taking a real liking to GENIAC-chan.  ^^

- Big surprise:  Windows 1.0-san loves to cuddle her daughter.  ^___________^'[/list]

Next up is the Dango storyboards, which I hope you'll like.  ^.^

Coincidentally, in my preconcept of the story, I originally intended to have the elves played by an assortment of short OS-tans, a lot of them Vintage-tans! (However none of them were the DOS-tans because sadly I forgot about them back then ;103 Excellent choice on using the DOS-tans as the elves!)

That's really interesting. I didn't know that she had such limitations. Probably has something to do with the complexity of the OS she is trying to imitate.

She's a cute little attention-mongering egomaniac! :D

I had another idea to add onto the ZS Xmas special, but as an extra I can easily do by myself: Suppose the virus-tans auditioned for the roles of the reindeer, and some of them didn't make the cut! I want to show the rejects' side of the story!

Quote

But of course! Windows 1.0-chan is so sweet and especially loves the last bit of family she has!

The chibi Vintage-tans in the panel are all so adorable but I think 2.0-chan takes the gold for off-the-chart levels of cuteness, closely seconded by GENIAC-chan and PET-chan!

That's funny, though.  This makes the scene an inadvertent throwback to YOUR original idea (I do remember you telling me that).  ^__^

The virus-tans playing as the reindeer, from left to right, top row to bottom row are: Mimail, Cascade, Abraxas, Lamer Exterminator, Bliss, Acme, Spida, CIH, and Butterfly.

Page 10 panel 3 has OS-9-tan (the purple-haired girl that looks like Mac OS 9/Sonata-tan) recieving a gift that really is hers for the first time in years, and same goes for Sonata. Because of a lot of people confusing OS-9 (a Unix-like OS from the 1980's, used in some home computers but also used as an embedded OS in the present day) with Mac OS 9, their mail often gets mixed up!

The OSX-kuns were in the box hoping to swoon over and pester the 'purple-haired Sonata-sama' but when they are finally shipped to the correct address and recipient, they are in for a surprise! :D

OS-9-tan's gift is a microphone because she is a news reporter.

Wow... still a lot to cover here.  But I'm not licked yet!  ^^

QuoteHave both Unix-sama and C-One-tan imitating Unix-sama, in the same room in the same room with others! Imagine Unix-sama's qualities, all of those doubled!

*imagines DOUBLE the hail of boots tossed at him*

OMG! Tiss the coming of the apocalypse!  ^v^

*halfheartedly cowers inside bunker*

QuoteNo psychopaths? Uh oh... Really bad timing for me to mention that ANTI-tan was one of the virus-tans who auditioned! 0__0 (and even more disastrous than her audition was the aftermath of her audition!)

Fufufu!  ^.^
I was wondering why Christmas Tree-tan wound up tossed in UNIX country all of a sudden.....  ^____^;

QuoteBut I think that your first chibi of her is really cute!

QuoteDon't be crazy, that original chibi you drew of her was very cute :3

Maybe it wasn't particularly awful, but it certainly shows its antiquity.  -.-

QuoteI am nearly done with the revamped version of page 5 of the ZS Xmas special, with corrected text!

Thank you for that, btw!  ^v^
We definitely have to set up a compilation thread, though, since all the ZeroSanity XMAS stuff is pretty much scattered everywhere.

Do you still update your website(s), by any chance?

QuoteDidn't hear anything about this panel before, but I like how it came out at any rate.

Behold the wonders of PMing.  ^___^

Actually, the ending of the story is also going to be radically different from the [longish] version I proposed to Aurora-hime.  Not only will it be short (hey, if epic Anime series can end in Fast Forward mode, so can we!), but it will also put Fedora-chan in a much better light (whereas before I worried she seemed like to weak of a character).  ^___^

QuoteWha--huh--? Well, I guess one could be used to pacify eCOS-tan, the other Slack-chan.

You could potentially take over the world with C-One,... and all you're thinking of is pacifying a couple of yahoos...? ^___________^;

QuoteLookin' mighty Hikari-esque, I might add :P

just a coincidence.... yes.... really.....  Â¬v¬

QuoteThey're all cute, but EXEC-sama, GENIAC-tan, 2.0 and PET-chan...and ACME-tan...are really standing out for me. ][-chan is very mischievous looking, and Lisa-san...seems to want out of there, real quick. ^^'

Ah yes!  ACME-chan is being quite active in that panel.  ^.^

][-chan IS being mischievous, and Lisa-chan usually DOES NOT want to sing -- so your assessment is spot-on!  ^__^

QuoteI think it has to do with their power. But then again, VMS and Unix-sama are much more powerful than Leopard or Vistan, and C-One would still have problems emulating them...maybe it does have to do with complexity.

QuoteAhhhhh, I see...so the OS-tan she's emulating must allow her to do so? Or...does it actually have to do with the status of their DNA? (IOW, being open-sourced vs. closed-source?)

Well you touched on them for the most part.  ^___^

There are three factors dictating C-One-chan's effectiveness as a doppleganger:

QuoteAll those Unix-sama's might give Slack-chan fatal anemia from having a really bad nosebleed...

*lighbulb pops on*

Ahhhhha! Now I see the Goddess's plan...hehehee...

Uh-oh,... I started something.  @.@

...

*imagines C-One in Compromised UNIX-sama Mode performing some "fanservice" on Slack-chan*

Give me one second....  -.-

*throws self in vat of frying oil*

QuoteAHAHAHAHA! Speaking of American Idol, for the virus-tan audition spinoff, I was thinking about adding in three judges to judge the virus-tans' performances and I know who the perfect three characters for the job would be!

But I feel ashamed for considering making the scene American Idol-inspired

Well I can at least brag that I never genuinely watched that show period.  -v-

But from the sound of it, it's popularity seems to be in decline and rightfully so.  It's like no one ever watched Quiz Show before..... -.-

QuoteHere are pages 9 and 10 of the ZS Xmas special! (I decided not to do the shading, just to keep this simple like with Mac Party)

Interesting that you did actually have shading in the first 4 panels.  However, I think the decision is for the best -- shading is useful for humorously-dramatic scenes, but is generally wasted on humor in general.  Thank you again, this is great!  ^__^

QuoteThe virus-tans playing as the reindeer, from left to right, top row to bottom row are: Mimail, Cascade, Abraxas, Lamer Exterminator, Bliss, Acme, Spida, CIH, and Butterfly.

Fufufu!  I remember when you and I were wondering who best fit the reindeers.  You had in mind making it a basket of assorted OS-tans (including a reprisal of Mugshot-chan's old role).  How I came up with virus-tans I don't remember anymore, but I think it was because of the spam.  Plus any excuse to show Viru-sama was a good excuse.  ^.^

QuoteThe OSX-kuns were in the box hoping to swoon over and pester the 'purple-haired Sonata-sama' but when they are finally shipped to the correct address and recipient, they are in for a surprise!

OS-9-tan's gift is a microphone because she is a news reporter.

AAAAAAAAAH!!!!  I KNEW I added Pu-chan to a later version of the panel!  >v<

I seem to be missing my final SVG, as none of my backups feature Pu-chan.

But yes,... pestering Sonata-sama is soooooooooo Mac Manga.  These days it's all about pestering OS-9-neesan... so.... yeah... what to do when you're back with SOnata-sama? ^^;

Quote*raises hand*
I meant Sonata-tan when I said OS-9-tan
*heads desk*

Case in point.  ^.^

Quote*evil grin*
With a little red driver so lovely in format,
I knew in a moment it must be Red Hat.
More rapid than torrent, her viruses they came,
And she whistled and shouted and called them by name:

Now Mimail! Now Cascade! Now, Abarax and Lamer!
On, Butterfly! On, Chernobyl(CIH) and Spida! On, Acme and Bliss!
To the top of the stack! To the top of the firewall! and off and off we will stream!
Now ping away! Ping away! Ping away all!

Stack as in data stack
On a side note... Rudolph was never included in the poem so i had to stretch it.

That is awesome and extremely clever!  And you finished the rhyme for Redhat-sama, to boot!  ^v^
[you probably noticed she tried that too, and forgot the lyrics.  ^.^]

I was never terribly good with English word play myself, so you are now officially a Grade A ASSET!!!! >V<

QuoteDango...

Dangos...

DangOS?

O_o
OSHI-

Between you and Fawkes-san, I'm going to have to start learning how to gift "internetz" for awesome people.  ^^

That's clever too -- I'm gonna have to revise the title on that one (or the next panel set).

Quote*Take a bite of Santa Red Hat*
Hmmmmm.... Red Bean paste....

And I had one to eat today (actually a mochi) and pink colored too.  Imagine how horrible I feel....  ^____________^;

QuoteWell, there is Bliss-tan but since Bliss-tan is not malicious at all, she probably doesn't count!

Bliss-chan is kinda like a pet if anything -- probably why she got a lead.  ^.^

QuotePanel 1: I like the Userspace Gang's cameo appearances, but why is OpenBSD-tan crying?

Cause she looks more like a real pufferfish than a dango. ^________^;

QuotePanel 2: I imagine that these days, Santa would use Google Earth to know which houses to deliver to, etc!

Fufufu!  Naturally!  Gotta fit in those tech jokes after all! ^v^

QuotePanel 3: I spotted an easter egg on the third panel- the radar looks like a component from the XO/OLPC computers!

Correct!  You get a cookie!  ^v^

(http://www.sallys-place.com/food/columns/zonis/Best_Cookie-20.jpg)

It was after all her company that spearheaded the original XO (before M$ came and broke things apart).  ^__^

Her radar seconds as a Mesh Network scanner. ^.^

QuotePanel 4: I think I know where this is going...

Smart girl.  ^__^
Like I said, I wanted the ending to be short and sweet and fair to Fedora-chan.  I hope to accomplish all that.  ^-^

Incidentally, with the dango characters done in a snap, I had more time to play with simple special effects.  That's the first time I did that kind of creeping sun glare, and I think it came out rather well. ^^

QuoteI should have guessed that it had to do with 'Odango', a term I am familiar with!

Watch the video, though.  It's addictive.  ^.^

Yay! Pages 9 and 10! I remember seeing these panels before...a long time ago in a galaxy far far away...but it's great seeing them again! I've noticed a few small changes, too...like GS/OS-tan, who now has some beautiful wings. And I don't believe I remember seeing Pu-chan in panel 3, was she a new addition, as well?

Quote*evil grin*

QuoteIn the meantime, I'm dumping the first Dango OS-tan Storyboard here just to get things moving along. I was hoping to be done by now, but work life hasn't been to generous in allowing me to prepare for C-Day. Le sigh. -v-
Took me a while to get used to Dangos, but after a while it just took off. Here's hoping the last page (8 panels total) will be done quickly. ^.^

That's it for now, but I'll be launching a Response Bombardment tomorrow -- morning or afternoon depending on my luck. ^-^;

And in case you're wondering what I'm smoking... it ain't my fault....

Blame Clannad for the inspiration....! ^_____^;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0I6YfDGDOc4&feature=related

First off, panel one I know I'm gonna love. What with the entire User Space Gang and all. Panel two and three...some nice lighting effects here, I really like the radar screen. I can honestly say I have no idea were it's going, but I'm quite interested in who that Santa clone is going to be...

Unless...it's a certain sister of RHL-tan...

Secondly, I Googled dangos and was a bit spoiled. I thought they were going to be more snowman-esque, though.

Thirdly, I assumed I really wanted some of what you were smoking. Bwahaha! (Nah, nah, my only high is my sense of self-satisfaction.) But that ending is very cute, and now I know where you got the inspiration.

Quote*imagines DOUBLE the hail of boots tossed at him*

OMG! Tiss the coming of the apocalypse! ^v^

*halfheartedly cowers inside bunker*

*Starts tossing boots as well*

What? I have too many boots lying around!

QuoteMaybe it wasn't particularly awful, but it certainly shows its antiquity. -.-

Old, yes, but you don't hear me ragging on all my old works...

...and trust me, I could. I really do wish now I hadn't held off on learning vector art, seeing as I found it some much more intuitive and fun than raster graphics...but I suppose everything has it's own evolution. -___-

QuoteYou could potentially take over the world with C-One,... and all you're thinking of is pacifying a couple of yahoos...? ^___________^;

But the yahoos are getting in the way of taking over the world!

Quotejust a coincidence.... yes.... really..... ¬v¬

No problem, I love that character. ^^

QuoteWell you touched on them for the most part. ^___^

There are three factors dictating C-One-chan's effectiveness as a doppleganger:

     1) Complexity of the OS-tan -- the newer she is, the harder it is, the more strain on C-One to emulate her abilities.

     2) Familiary of the OS-tan -- the COmmodore-tans are closed, but because she's most familiar with them she can imitate them for a longer period of time. And even if the OS is complicated, having an open DNA allows C-One to compensate better. Naturally, for an OS to be both complicated AND closed means C-One has to literally "winch it" to imitate any of the Vistans.

     3) Her own personal reliability -- C-One is still a prototype of sorts, and prone to break down and errors. The fact that PTSDOS-chan helped C64-chan with some of the programming ensured that she works very well, but also has a few embedded "easter eggs" (like the occasional Chii-like affection to C64-tan) that unfortunately crop up at the most inopportune moments.

     Having two UNIX-sama's can be frightening, yes,... but if one of them gets on all fours, reduces her vocabulary down to one single word ("C") and starts doing what can best be [most politely] described as "fanservice",... then yeah, I'm sure that'd break the moment. ^^;

1) Then Unix-sama would probably be very easy to emulate :3

2) This makes sense...maybe after being around a certain OS-tan in question, she can begin to absorb some of their characteristics.

3) Easter eggs...uh...oh...@@

...and...um...yeah, I think I'd be able to tell the real Unix-sama from the Psedo Unix-sama in this case. @_________@

*think undirty thoughts...*

QuoteWell I can at least brag that I never genuinely watched that show period. -v-

But from the sound of it, it's popularity seems to be in decline and rightfully so. It's like no one ever watched Quiz Show before..... -.-

Okay, I admit it. The early rounds are sometimes good for a Schadenfreude laugh...but I abhor just about any pseudo star pop-tart American Idol has ever turned out. >__<

Then again, I hate mainstream pop, rock, and country, so maybe that has something to do with it.

QuoteUmmmm.... still not lit >.>

Okay...how to I explain this tactfully... ^///^

>sigh<

Slackware-chan (aka Slack-chan) is one of Linux-sama's oldest daughters and a mechanical and scientific genius. She's hyper, temperamental and difficult to get along with, but generally competent and very smart...

...except for one particular quirk...

...She absolutely loves Unix-tans and wants to be like them. She has immense giddiness around them, ranging from a sort of sweet, gentle puppy love, to actually having the hots for some (and making it all too apparent). Unix-sama's sort of her idol (and object of worship); so I leave it to you to think of where she might fall in this scale ^///^

Thus our assumption that C-One-tan, emulating Unix-sama, would make a good babysitter for her. ^/////////^

Wow! This is so wonderful! The lighting throughout is beautiful, and it's wonderful seeing Fedora-chan save the day in panel 1. The X-Star full of DOS-tans is adorable :3

2: Yay! Miggy, Pilot and FreeDOS-tan! Even as mere Dangos they're brimming with personality.

"Just shoot me now"...lulz were had. ^^

3: Awwww, how sweet....

4: ....or not. Seeing Fedora and RHL-tan in a slapping contest (complete with the insults flying) is hilarious, and all the DOS-tans falling off the plane is great, too! I hope they packed parachutes!

Panel 5: How touching! Beautiful dialogue here, and the lighting is wonderful as well. :..)

6: Same goes for this panel, as well! I really like how you were able to capture a lot of emotion.

7: This is going to be a great group panel. :3

8: Nice landscape shot here! And the Kernel Panic makes its triumphant return!

...I just wonder if they're celebrating Festivus onboard XD

QuoteSmall Note: I can't view YouTube either, so I just googled the link and posted it without checking.

Thank you, Bella-hime.  ^^
I tried hard to keep it simple, but as usual I went overboard with the lighting at times.  I guess it's a nice way to compensate for the stupidly-simple DangOS.  -v-

The X-Star I had sketched a long time ago (along with the original sketch of Pilot-chan), but this is the first time the design is made public.  The canard-style propeller plane is based on the Kyushu J7W1 Shinden, an experimental plane with superior maneuverability created (but never deployed) during WWII.

BSD-san I've always thought was a lot more open-minded and laid back, too.

Initially I doubt Solaris-sama would have wanted to loosen up by choice -- she just tried (and failed) to fit the part in order to steal mindshare from her archrival.  But over the past year especially, having spent considerable time interacting with what she once might have considered the "dregs" of society, I think she's changed her mind considerably.  At the very least she understands now why she was destined to fail if she continued to pursue her path.  At most, she's come to understand the virtual "immortality" of open DNA, and envies her mother a little less.

QuoteWow! the Kyushu J7W1 Shinden is a really neat looking plane!

Fufufu... the Xerox Star was a pretty neat looking computer when it came out too.  ^^

If you'll recall, the original X-Star was meant to be based on Richard Pearse's plane, perhaps the first airplane to fly, but due to location and poor press never acknowledged as such.  Seemed fitting in PilotOS-chan's case.

But since I needed something with more umpf, that didn't quite cut it.  Fortunately, since Pearse's plane was canard-style (an aerodynamic frame well-ahead of its time), it didn't take long to find a great candidate since canard-style frames were rarely if ever used in propeller planes.

If you're interested in reading more, here's an interesting forum post about it:

http://www.ww2aircraft.net/forum/aircraft-pictures/kyushu-j7w1-shinden-canard-prototype-4615.html

It's not meant to be an exact copy of the Shinden (after all, the Shinden had 1 propeller and not 2), but the X-Star does inherit the same [prototype] problems as the Shinden.  This is why PilotOS-chan has to spend what little money she has on regular maintenance, and why she had to remove some pieces outright (such as the attached gun) to wait for better times.  ^^;

Quote*heat of coffee turns him into sausage*

If it makes you feel any better, I was quite "WTF" myself when I first saw that. -v-;

But it actually is intended to figure heavily in the story, so it's not like it's outright hentai fanservice. Perhaps its meant instead to poke fun at that kind of stuff. The scene with Chii in the Peep Show room, literally poking through the peep holes, serves as a good metaphor. -.-

If I sat though the blatant perverseness of Speed Grapher for 10+ episodes, I'm sure I could handle that. XD

QuoteSweet for the girls, echii for the guys. and yaoi undertones for the rabid fangirls... I presume...

Sounds...about right. o.O

Effective marketing at its best.  ^.^

QuoteHow good for Solaris-san...given the track record of closed source Unixen compared to open source ones, I can't see how any would want to opt for the former.

Oh,... it wouldn't be the first time people have fought tooth and nail to defend what's worse for them.  You should see tons of samples of that in your everyday life (or at least on TV).  ^____________^

Wow!  So not only did you have a strong interest in trains, but also planes too?!  You ARE the definitive renaissance girl.  ^_____^

OMG~!!!  Poor you.  @v@

In that case, Chobits will actually be pleasant.  When you have the chance, go for it.  ^.^

=====================

In any event, to bring my participation in this thread to a close, a small present for Aurora-hime,... the Sauce for all the DangOS-tan panels I made....

I even made a last minute change to the last panel, making the scenery a lot more winteresque.

I'm sorry the end product fell short of a real product, but I think it will help you greatly in case you want to finish the comic (in time for christmas).  The fact that there's only 5 panels and they're already storyboarded (and include fairly-decent backgrounds to work with) I'm sure will help tremendously.  ^__^

Thank you for helping make this FOSA Lite thread very productive.  The original Free and Open Source Anime project failed, but this one did rather well and yielded some nice collaborative efforts.  I hope we'll all have the opportunity to do equally fun and productive teamwork once more.

Take care!

Ja!  ^v^
