ok, for suspense thriller would be Monster!
Comedy..
For school comedy i guess none other than azumanga followed by GTO

Yeah, usually when posting images off the gallery, I use the "Copy Image Location" function in Firefox to fetch the true image locations. Otherwise yeah, it's constantly moving (had to learn this the hard way at the Annex.... -.-;)

hellsing dosnt make you feel any form of empathy towards the characters. I felt no such thing to the guards and such, but "hey, enter cute ditzy girl that dosnt know thats going on.. oops there goes her head" for whatevereason did not sit well with me. as the series went on (as i tend to watch alot of them in one day) I grew numb to its random slaughter of innocents. I cant think of too many innocents slaughtered in hellsing (well anime anyways) and cirtanly not ones they introduce like they MAY be a character somewhere down the road

I've always just viewed fantasy as an epic tale, not necessarily just with dragons and kings and peasants or blacksmiths who become heros.

To whose side? I saw that preview and I'm still rooting for Zero and the Order of the Black Knights. I know he killed a vital character in the last episode, but he's still got a good idea going and I'd like to see him conquer Japan. Suzaku is kind of an annoying character, and having him kill his own father is worse than Zero killing, well, I've said too much already. Maybe it's an odd part of my personality that causes me to root for Zero, but I just can't stand Suzaku's platitudes...

Yes, Akamatsu sensei is the master of the gretuedus mass panty shot and my idol :p I have to say his impressive work is alot of the reason I wanted to learn to do manga style comics. I love Love Hina, but I think I like negima more, manga wise at least. The did a poor job with the first anime, the second was animated well but it was a totally differnt story.
As for Fate, I rather like the way they presented the story. Not bad for an anime, not bad at all. Tho, with a visual novel there are so many differnt ways the story could have gone, but i think they picked a good route and as much as i love the inbetween stuff, character interactions and such, they would have made the anime far too long and would have made it seem slow. <_< and its not like they could include the H sceans either.
Speaking of the H sceans.. i wonder if they didnt make one for Ilya cus they got alot of flack about it from making a Shiki/Ren scean...

Well I like her and her partners/servants alot. Chachamaru is moe and Chacha zero is just awesome. Thet make a great team and are interesting characters. Plus, Eva-chan wears such cute gothloli outfits :3
I like Kanako cus well, first she is goth loli too, but also cus of all the girls i think shes the only one that loved him and defended him from the begining. She never got angry and hit him, or cried, or whatever, she loved him no matter what. Heck the most epic part of the manga i think was when she dove in and countered narus punch and gave her a taste of her own medicin. I know shes his adopted sister, but i think its kinda tragic that her love was one sided (least in love-love way, he did love her as a sister)

Yeah, I don't like the second series of Negima. The new director SUCKS. I thought the original had a lot of fanservice, but this...
The animation is also crap compared to the original and he changed a lot of stuff around, like hair and eye colours. And he practically turned Konoka into a lesbian.

Actually, in the terms of quality animation its the second one that excels and the first that was a total let down. I love Mr. Akamatsus works, and after the quality animation done on love hina, I rather expected Negima to be awesome when it came out, but the animation was.... horrible. It followed the original story as best it could, untill the end where they made some shit up (typical of anime), but I had a hard time getting past how adrocious the art was. plus, compaired to the original manga, it had NO fan service. not even a little. The preview videos they released showed fan service just as it was in the manga but the same sceans in the actual show had them cut. For instance the scean in the begining where negi makes asunas skirt blow up to show the bear panties, in the manga and the preview they both showed her skirt blowing up and the print on the panties, but in the show they just showed the print and hinted that it was on her panties.
the second series, as where it ventured away from the original story and redesigned some things like the look of the classroom etc, had pretty impressive vivid and eye catching animation. To me, it was fun to watch dispite the raping of the story, heck it was pretty halarious. I plan on getting it for my collection.

In the negima series I have, when he destroys her panties, it shows her face and chest as she looks down horrified and you see bits or torn fabric blowing up so you know what happened without showing it.

Since Kari asked me over Skype what some of my favorite anime where, aside from the few she can remember me mentioning, I decided to dust off this topic and update my list:

My list is pretty much the same as last time, just add Princess Mononoke, Rebuild of Evangelion (so far) and Roberta's Blood Trail to it. (Or is this strictly for favorite anime series and not movies/OAV?)

as far as i'm concerned, anime is the style only, so tv shows/specials, OVAs, web exclusives, and movies are fair game.
also, the reason i was asking for a list of anime pent likes is because i'm going to the con the weekend before his birthday. if people send me a little cash marked off, i'll find something and buy it for them. :3 (their choice, pent only gets off scott free since it's his birthday present. xD
though i should note that AB is one of the biggest cons in the country and the world, so keep that in mind. [i was looking up cons last night and it turns out we're only really second in this country to Otakon and Anime Expo. everyone else we're either on par with or beat.])
if you'd like more time to think about it, i was also going to attend AAC in october. :3 though AAC is much smaller. :\

I know the feeling, but it was from playing FF7 ages ago. My sister can't stand turn-based games, so she settled for watching me play, so she could be up-to-speed for the sequel movie (Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, which I felt wasn't too bad of a movie). There would be times I'd want to play, but I couldn't make any story progress unless my sister was around, so she'd know what's going on too :\

it's frustrating. i want to watch more of ben-to and UY (i had to preview the first episodes for club) but if we watch them i wouldn't feel right watching more. :[

This is why I never really plan to watch anything series wise with other people, or book clubs or something. I read fast and don't like to stop if things are getting exciting.
That being said I do watch fan fiction readings and weird PSAs with Bells (for MST3King purposes).

that's one of the reasons i'd like to have some sort of osc anime club, where each week we have an episode to watch and can riff about it with the other members when they watch it. :\
that said, i just got word that it's unlikely we're going to continue with UY, so i guess that gives me license to watch as i please. >w>

Ooh, that's ANOTHER animu I've always wanted to watch from beginning to end. I've always been intrigued by the story (from the episodes I've seen and what I've read about it online) and unusual art style...

it's tied with one piece, naruto, and sailor moon for the title of "my favourite anime", but unlike those 3, i've seen it through. it was only 2 seasons, after all.

@bella: it's the kind of series i think you and stew would just adore. yes, it starts off focusing somewhat on the giant robots, but by the end, they take a backseat to all the film noir, conspiracy theories and disturbing revalations. it's also one of the only series i've seen that 1. had the manga come second and 2. have the second season produced solely because an american company wanted it to.
