there is a new fate stay night anime coming out called Fate zero the same company that did Demonbane will be doing this I can't wait to see it.

mmhmm, me too. Although... I doubt that it'll be an anime, since TYPE-MOON is collaborating with Nitroplus.  Looking at Nitroplus's site, they seem to only be releasing dating sim/visual novel stuff.

Therefore, Jeff believes this will be a visual novel release.  Whether or not it becomes an anime depends on the anime people...

Yeah i'm kinda hoping it stay visual cause the last anime they did on fate was not faithful to the original story. I'm putting sakura in a lingerie outfit I was WTF when I saw that.

Post by: SleepyD on December 14, 2006, 02:11:21 PM
haha, well, I haven't played thru f/sn, I wouldn't know if they were faithful to the story. ^^

Since this is a TYPE-MOON thread, anyone here play Melty Blood? My lack of a gamepad or controller keeps my skills limited. Freakin' keyboard.

Seconded. Meltyblood is a lot easier with a controller. However, my sister does a lot better with a keyboard o.O Funny how that works XP

As for Type-Moon, their animes have never really been 100% faithful :P I'm lookin at you, Tsukihime.

Recommend any controllers for me? ^^

I'd assume it'd be hard to write a story when the original had multiple endings. (and fans tend to love different endings)

Furthermore, we don't really know how involved TYPE-MOON was with the anime... The level of cooperation between anime people and the creator can vary quite a bit...

Logitech controllers are good really good man and not very epensive you'll be paying 25 dollars or a little more.

Yeah but they could at least do ovas on the multiple endings or put in the dvd as extras that would have been nice.

Title: Type-moon
Post by: rdhdtwns on December 16, 2006, 04:20:19 PM
Jeff, TYPE-MOON was hardly involved with Tsukihime anime at all. They have said that they weren't overly fond of it as well because of that ^^;

However for F/SN they were involved much much more and were able to have a lot more input into the shows direction. (F/SN is also a better anime I think :D)
Title: Type-moon
Post by: Spysweeper on December 16, 2006, 05:20:23 PM
Thats why the anime sucked if they did it themselves it would have been overkill. I just can't wait to see more of their work animated.

Well, my primary source of video game entertainment is my PS2... but a lot of these japanese games require my PC. ^^

I haven't gotten the chance to watch Tsukihime... I have, however, played through the game once.  Have you people gotten the translation thing from mirror moon? http://mirrormoon.org/

for Fate/stay, I've watched the anime, but haven't got much of a clue what happens in the visual novel.  I liked the anime, fancy magic circles are always fun. ^^ And I haven't gotten tired of the "Unlimited <insert noun here> Works" things that people do. haha
Title: Type-moon
Post by: CaptBrenden on December 17, 2006, 06:35:44 PM
most of my gaming comes from my 360.. I only use my PC for RTSes, like dawn of war or Mark of Chaos.  anything else tends to cramp my hand to much to play from a comp.  Tho if i understood japanese enough to import games I would use my comp for that too

Title: Type-moon
Post by: SleepyD on March 15, 2007, 01:28:40 AM
yesh. Kara no Kyokai is something I am quite looking forward to. ^^

In other news, I have played through Arcrueid and Ciel's True Endings, and Ciel's ending felt really good.  Arc's was good too.  Had a more peaceful, quiet mood.  But Ciel's... I dunno, it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy, for lack of a better phrase. ^^

Currently playing Tsukihime through Hisui's story arc, already completed Arc, Ciel, and Akiha's ending. I think Akiha's both endings are the best so far, although somewhat sad ^^;

About Fate/Zero, anime would be a long long way :D

Fate zero is a novel (not a visual novel) which tell the previous war.
The company Nitro+ is collaborating with Type Moon to do it. For now we have to wait if they're gonna plan an animation like Kara no Kyoukai ^^ (maybe in 1 or 2 years)

must read,  tho I was hoping for something that improves or expands on the end of stay night... tho I have decided to go look for the manga so i can have more of the story filled out.

Post by: SleepyD on July 18, 2007, 10:57:38 PM
I hear that translation projects for Type-moon novels tend to be slow due to Kinoko Nasu's rather high-level kanji and prose.  (and the fact that it's a freakin NOVEL)

there's a f/sn manga? *looks up*
Unlimited Blade Works, eh? I'd read it if it wasn't in japanese.... any scanslators?

well, there is the Tsukihime manga. anyone here read it? I saw it at Anime Expo, but I was strapped for cash at that point.

Captain, I suggest reading anything about the game(wikipedia) or playing the game itself. since there are alot of things that the anime missed. and reading some doujins helps too. I read lots of things about f/s n and before i knew it my favorite character became CASTER followed by RIDER.
Gaku gaku animal land has lots of pretty good doujin translations http://www.freewebs.com/aortic/fatekaranokyokai.htm

Post by: Kirie on July 19, 2007, 06:43:39 AM
I read vol. 1-4 of tsukihime (it seems that the vol. 5 will be release in japan on 25th October and the vol. 6 will be the last).
By the way, if you like the anime and/or the visual novel you have to read the manga because it gives you much more details than the anime.

i finished the whole tsukihime game a few weeks ago and its partly to blame for my long absence! hehe. The story is sooooo awesome! but i have to settle down a bit to savor the enjoyment more. i also finished the plus disk and now im playing kagetsu tohya. i plan on playing fate stay night once mirror moon finishes heaven's feel!!

Of course following the game i decided to run through all of gaku gaku animal land's doujin scanlations of tsukihime!! that was a very fun night for me.

i'm hearing rumors of a tsukihime 2 so im getting restless although i still need to wait 1-3 years after its release before i can get my hands on an english translation, or maybe i could learn the language as fast as i can. :/

Type-moon is not anime..... ^_^  type-moon is a group of fans who create many great visual novel in Japan.

The visual novel created by type-moon always have a good rating....so the anime and manga is created for some type-moon's visual novel.

The most famous one is Fate/stay night and Tsukihime. Tiger Colloseum is one of Fate/stay night related game.

Title: Type-moon
Post by: CaptBrenden on January 29, 2009, 12:43:36 AM
interesting related factoid...   did you know that a professional manga artist on average produces 3 pages a day, and has generaly compleated 5000+ pages before going pro.   Before that, your just a little doujin artist, selling your wares at con...

You know, this all reminds me of Welcome to the NHK now.

Anyhow, lets get some type-moon type conversation going.  Poll time, who is everyones Favotie characters?  Imma go with Shiki, Archer, and Lancer for guy characters, and Ilya Saber Ren and Arc for female characters.   <__< so many to choose from tho, i cant narrow it down any further then that.
Title: Type-moon
Post by: SleepyD on January 29, 2009, 02:08:24 AM
Hey look, a revived thread relevant to my interests!

Ryougi Shiki or Tohno Shiki?
I like both of em, but Ryougi Shiki is kickass.

And yeah there are WAY too many characters to choose from.
Saber, Ilya, Lancer, Rider, Akiha, Sion... heh If I continue, I might end up naming everyone. XD;

Oh, while we're talking about type moon characters, how about the things they're working on right now? Kara no Kyoukai is already out, so let's deal with things in the pipeline.

Canaan:
An anime based on a "sound novel" titled 428 - Fuusa Sareta Shibuya de - (428 - In Blockaded Shibuya) by Sega/Chunsoft.  Type-moon worked together with Chunsoft on this.  Takashi Takeuchi is responsible for the character designs, Nasu took care of the 2nd extra scenario in the novel.
Anime website: http://www.canaan.jp/

Secondly,
"Mahou Tsukai no Yoru"  (Witch of the Holy Night)
Looks like backstory for Tsukihime, with Aoko Aozaki being a main character.
http://www.typemoon.com/product/next/mahoyo.html

Thirdly, showing that TYPE-MOON really is no longer a doujin group,
"Girls' Work"
http://www.typemoon.com/product/next/gw.html
Something that's neither by Nasu or Takeuchi, and (naturally) not connected to the Nasuverse.

And finally, the Tsukihime Remake:

Kara no Kyoukai 5: Mujun Rasen (Paradox Spiral) anyone?

Freakin awesome.  Katana Ryougi and Moe Ryougi was awesome.  The first half had some animation that made me wonder about their budget, but holy crap the rest of the movie had top quality animation, especially in the fight scenes.

Can't wait to see Azaka in the next one.  Whoo fire magics!

If you guys haven't seen it, I urge you to see it.  Of course, expect the Nasu plot to confuse the heck out of you, especially since it isn't in chronological order (a la Haruhi when it was aired).

Of course, if you're an impatient anime watcher, this may not be for you, what with the extensive talking as well as the release dates being so far apart.  (There's a total of 7 movies for Kara no Kyoukai, so as mentioned earlier, we have up to 5)

...I kinda wonder who's going to pick this series up over here now that Geneon went under.

I always find myself lost when watching KnK, I had to google a website one day that was able to break down everything that was going on. Though I'm eager to see what movie 7 is going to be like when movie 5 is supposedly "the end."

not surprised.
The original novel is exponentially more convoluted than this. XD
And it's Nasu. Nasu loves making long convoluted plots.

Also, Azaka was indeed moe, but other than that, it felt a bit lacking compared to Mujun Rasen. (also, sprinter > fairytale )

Well, 7 concludes what was in 2, so there's still some loose ends to tie up. I can't wait to see Satusjin Kousatsu's conclusion.
