Title: Winter 2015 Anime: The Demon's Departure Has Left Us Cold
Post by: Chocofreak13 on January 16, 2015, 08:24:35 PM
http://anichart.net/winter

it's been a long time since we've done one of these. figured i'd start one, for old times' sake. out of the offerings, the only ones i'm actually getting are Saekano, Koufuku Graffiti, and Yuri Kuma Arashi. weirdly enough all of them are already licensed and streaming on crunchyroll. this prospect disturbs me as it seems with streamlining the mainstream market is trying to bring the old ways of anime to an end. we can only hope die-hard fans will continue subbing despite the pressure.

also once the season's over i'll scoop up the latest season of Tantei Opera Milky Holmes. i already have the other stuff, so i'll fix it to completion then.

expect another one post AB, there's a spring series i'm hot on the trail of.

Kancolle is getting an anime? I have a feeling Sleepy will be all over that -w-

Didn't really see anything that stood out to me. Then again, once I finish the MapleStory anime, I have a massive backlog to get through (Trigun, Rayearth, FMA Brotherhood, Rebuild of Eva, etc.)

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu sounds sort of interesting.  Anything with nerds and murder can be fun.

@pent: i sort of agree, lately the seasons have been meh. it makes it easier to pick and get through stuff, though. #Ronja

@stew: hm, i should give that one a look. :0

Everything looks the same to me at this point. ;____;

A lack of stuff which sparked my interest and the lower amount of free time lead to me not following much of these. (Oh, and I have several leftovers from last season)

Yeah... where the promotional arts feature a dominatingly female cast, one should be careful. Especially if the description implies school slice-of-life, idol stuff or just cute girls doing nothing of importance...

Indeed. Kinda makes you wish that joke one I found one time was real; which listed such "never going to happen" things as Pirate Gundam (Apparently, that's a really old injoke among the fandom), adaptations of Pokémon Special and Yotsuba&, and a second season of Cowboy Bebop -w-;;

Cowboy Bebop really doesn't need a second season though.  Any more then Firefly does at this point.

Firefly could use a second season to wrap up plot points, though they did that in the comics as well. as for Bebop, i agree with stew.

@bells, exa: i somewhat agree. the ones that stand out to me stand out due to their appealing to my interests (weirdly-titled show about otaku girls, show about food, yuri series), but i haven't gotten as hyped about an anime season as i used to in years.

on the other hand, i reviewed the Spring season and i squee'd repeatedly. any votes on whether or not i should make a thread for it, or should i wait?

Maybe a Spring season topic is a bit too early, but may I ask you what were the shows which made you interested? I checked a spring season list, and I haven't exactly found it much better than the current one.

it's all good. it's really making me want to post about a spring thread, though, since we're already 3+ episodes into the winter one. :0
