While I'm reading the forum, I noticed several nicknames for OS-tans (for XP-tan and 98/98SE-tan). But what are the other nicknames (if there are more)?
Well...let's see:
98-tan: Hacchan
98SE-tan: Secchan
Me-tan: Emui-san
Vista-chan: Vistan
XP Professional: Saseko
Mozilla Firefox: Firefox-ko
XP Home (Female): Homeko
XP Home (Male): Homeo
98 (Alternate): Yamada

NT-tan (the woman): Maman
the NT-tan dog girl: Inu-T
The OS 10.x-tans are known by their version's codenames
OS X Server-tan: Rhapsody
Mac OS 9-tan: Sonata
Mac OS 8-tan: Veronica, Tempo-tan
One more...
Windows Server 2003: Saba-tan
That's about it for the established nicknames. ^___^
Which means this thread is gonna come to a fairly premature end if we don't use it to establish some new nicknames. -v-
Bare in mind that there are still many canon OS-tans out there without nicknames (e.g., 95-tan, Linux-tan) and lots of new ones who need some. ^__^
Here's some, for example:
Commodore PET: PETchan
Commdore C64: PANchan
Amiga: Miggy, Lorraine
And everytime the Captain or I speak of "The Prophet, The Goddess and The Holy Kitten", that's us describing certain OS-tans that require daily worship. -v-
I've seen 95-tan be called Babasan or something like that ("Baba" meaning "hag"), and OSX-tan called Shian (which is the Romanization of how to spell "Cyan" in Katakana. Also Cyan was OSX's first codename. But then the cat theme went into favor with the specific releases)
In that case, me likey "Babasan" very much. ^___^

I also remembered that Vistan is sometimes also known as Visbou (IIRC, that's the ninja girl's nickname and the screwhaired schoolgirl is Vistake) and the green+blue-haired girl with the transparent skirt is known as Frida.

Home = home (however "Homeko" is prounounced with Japanese syllables so the e isn't silent)
Homeko = home + ko
ko = kid
homeko = home kid
Since Homeko is a manga writer, mostly she never go out of her house :)
Homeo = home + o
0 = king (O is japanese pun for word oh or ou, it mean: king)
Homeo = home king
May be the house that used by the OS is owned by Homeo :)

Also, Komepo, is she actualy US version of XP pro? because she's blonde and i saw comic about JP version os the windows met US version. Also in 4 panels comic, Komepo arrive in japan and having problem with restaurant (banning saseko) and founded by Homeo who tough if Komepo is Saseko who bleaching her hair.

Well, Moseko sounds a bit strange - put the "e" out --> Mosko - and it reminds me "Moscow". And she really needs dieting - but I fear it could have its side-effects...
And about mentioing the RAM=Chest Size: Vista needs much more RAM then Xp, so probably we'll end with HUGE breasts :D But to be serious, I don't see in the current Vistan designs such parameters. I think, at least the Ultimate (or whatever is the most powerful version called) Vistan could have these big ones - XP could be jealous :p
Also, the Ultimate Edition Vistan could be tall - a bit of pun on Ultimate Girls :D

I'm not so sure. Because her requirements not become effectively lower, just realatively lower compared to the newer systems. Also, OS-tan desings aren't changing so dramatically just because time has passed.

Like I said before, "memory size" should be relative to the age at which the OS was released, so it really shouldn't matter that much. -v-
Even when Minix-tan was released, 4MB (or whatever she used back in circa 1990) was relatively small. '.'
On the other hand, Apple Lisa-tan also has 4MB of RAM but is pretty well-endowed due to the fact she was born in 1981!
Better to think of it that way, or else it really WILL be a problem in the future when (whatever is left of) Windows fanboys start drawing XP-tan with inverse breasts due to using <1 TB of RAM. 'v'
