Quote from: "Aurora Borealis"Good thing there is that sidebar program for XP because there aren't very many Vista users (as far as I know of) on OSC!

For XP sidebar program, I recommend this one, "Alky RTM Sidebar for XP". This seems to be the most common one among the XP sidebar user community, and the responses are mostly positive (although I have no XP machine to test this myself).

My latest gadget project is "System Animator", which was posted here a few weeks ago. Sadly, no one seemed to give a shit about it :( Seriously, I had more fun working with System Animator than this PC Meter gadget, as System Animator has way more potential to allow user contribution and create interesting outcomes. I have had quite some progress during the past few weeks. I strongly recommend every single Vista user in this forum to check it out. Try it before you judge it. It may be way more interesting than you imagine!

i use vista currently. been meaning to downgrade.
or at least on the main computer. ol' shitty's running win. 2k, my sis is running something......win with mac overlay, i think.

Added after 2 minutes:

oh and yes, thankyou! so much! i love it! especially since you gave more options w/ the expansion pack.
i love the other stuff too, the meter (don't use it because it takes up a tiddlebit too much room) and the calander.

and i also love the computer themes, i have the ff7 one enabled, makes it feel all old skool. i feel all warm and fuzzy inside. <3

now, can you come up with a computer sounds package that has the old error noise? i miss it. ;_;

Wow! It seems very good! And it works on XP too?
Btw, not only OS-tans I saw. I saw other anime/vocaloid etc characters.

OS-tan/Anime PC Meter

OK back to the topic. Here I would like to introduce an interesting Windows Vista gadget I wrote, which is a CPU/RAM/Drive/Network meter presented in a cute and Anime-like style! So, when you see the CPU lady glowing in red, you know the CPU is busy :P

Major Features (version 1.6.1)

   * CPU/RAM/Drive/Network meter presented in a cute, Anime-like style!
   * Multi-core CPU supported
   * Advanced monitoring details, such as virtual memory/network usage and disk activity (as flashing of bars), through the use of WMI
   * Interactable interface with extra info and actions available when you place your mouse pointer over or click on various parts of the gadget
   * Customizable settings

You can download it from the link on my signature!

Comments? Suggestions? Please let me know!

------------

This is only the beginning of my OS-tan gadget project. I am still working on several other OS-tan-related gadgets which will actually make the OS-tans come alive on your desktop! You will be able to even design your own OS-tan animation/interaction in a simple way! Stay tuned!

Any win98 port for this theme?

I like it, but even with kernelex doesn't work T_T
I miss and love you Mac Os 8/9 tan , KILL STEVE FOR ME PLEASE, HE DID IT!

as far as I know its XP and Vista only, and XP needs some stuff to get the vista side bar into it

What is WITH people and using obsolete, OBSOLETE OS'es these days, seriously?

Cockleshell

Probably can't afford all those new wingdingy fancy computers that's needed to run them newfangled OSes?
What's in your hand, back at me. I have it, it's an oyster with two figures of your favorite Touhou characters. Look again, the figures are now vials of the Hourai Elixir. Anything is possible when your waifu smells like Old World and not a man. I'm a frog.

NejinOniwa

Well, use low-spec modern OS'es, then.

Xubuntu, Puppy, et cetera. Derp.

win98 is still alive for 11 years and works better than XP(i tested both in a dell dimension XPS B733, my current computer) and i have it for experimental/work purposes(home office). Too many people between latin and north america are still using it in old and some "new" systems(relatively).
A powerbook 3400(from 1997-currently dead  ;123  ) was my jukebox since i receive it like a "war trophy" when i entered to a technical school 3 years ago. It's sound system was extraordinary and makes "silence" the sound from current powerbooks-macbooks. OS before death: MacOS 8.6(OS9 makes s*** my poor ram-48MB). Sorry Sonata.

And i know people that are using 68k based macintosh for printing and commodore amiga for video editing. They have the money for newer or "better" systems, but they(including me) can do the best work with those "obsolete" machines.

Other thing, here in Peru all these are considered "obsolete"(and Apple is only known for the ipod/iphone).

PD: I have linux(PuppyOS) for emulation/hard work. Any interested in a "BitchOS-tan"?

WOW large off-topic

PD2: Anyone that know the author of this: Rsidebar?
Is an almost useless "vista-like" sidebar for win98. maybe this helps.

Any sane IT-specialist would kep an OS until it really dies beyond repair..
Some companies even use pre-x86 hardware because it still works great and it would then be unviable to buy new hardware...
I dont tell you how to tell me what to do, so dont tell me how to do what you tell me to do... Bender the Great) :/
