On-site hosting would require some manner of talking to Fedora-tan, to either ensure a working http/css script or an implementation of in-thread flash...

anyway, CALLING ALL KNOWLEDGABLE MEMBERS(this means you, aurora, nejin, and bella) START POSTING INFORMATION ABOUT -TAN PERSONALITIES THAT I MAY TRANSLATE INTO QUIZ.
I'll list some vintage OS-tans! I'm just getting started. I'm going to have dinner right now and will be back with more vintage OS-tans.
Commodore PET-tan: Very prim and proper. Used to be extremely uptight and competitive, but in recent years, has become more laid-back, is wise and likes animals.
Commodore 64-tan: An ambitious, highly competitive gamer, musician, inventor and tech expert. Loves retro technology and is willing to compete against modern OS-tans and game console-tans! She used to hate her stepsister Amiga-tan, but after the Commodore company's demise, the reconciled and are now very close friends.
Commodore 128-tan: One of the youngest Commodore-tans, but is wise, kind and mature. She just wants everybody to get along. She is the only one of her family to have known C65-tan, and lives as a wanderer hoping to find her again.
Commodore 65-tan: A insane, tough, hot-blooded pirate who lives on her own and NEVER gives up despite her disadvantages. Has a peg leg. Her friends are just as weird as she is! She is the long-lost sibling of the Commodore Family. Her other relatives are unaware of her existance and she has gotten into conflicts with them, since they thought she was a bootleg OS-tan.
Amiga-tan: Is a talented traditional artist, musician and journalist. She was very advanced back in the 1980's, but would rather unite and collaborate with others than compete. She founded and leads an organization uniting various vintage OS-tans. She loves helping others and is one of the nicest OS-tans you'd ever meet! Stands out as being one of the tallest OS-tans and is the tallest Vintage-tan at 183 cm [6'0"].
Coleco Adam-tan: Timid, paranoid, socially awkward, and difficult to understand, but is polite and chivalrous. Some sort of freak of nature, her life force is contained in a printer she has to have with her at all times and she involuntarily emits electrical discharges that erase nearby tapes. She almost always has a bad hair day. Has been rivals with Apple II-tan since the 1980's and they're still rivals! Also carries a Cabbage Patch Kids doll with her.

I have some info, I guess...
OpenVMS-sama: cold and calculating, OpenVMS-sama was originally a promising DEC officer. She loves sharks, swordsmanship and leads a small faction of independant OS-tans. Windows NT-tan is her biological daughter (sorta), making all NT-based Windowses her descendants.
Multics-sama: emotionally complex, very intellectual and having a great knowledge of sorcery, she tended to be too complex for her own good-- much less powerful enemies were able to defeat her for the most part (most notably, her biological daughter Bell Labs Unix-sama). She can be the nicest person you hope to meet or your most ruthless enemy.
(Bell Labs) Unix-sama: an owlgirl, hot-tempered, very intelligent, she's a telented sorceress but prefers to use mind-games to injure her enemies. She has a rarely-seen soft side, Linux-sama being one of her closest friends; she is the daughter of Multics-sama, and all Unixen descend from her genetically.

Currently, I'm updating some articles in the wiki to get them up-to-date. Some of them are currently outdated, since the addition of more backstory that has yet to be written down at the wiki. :-\
Some more info:
Apple II-tan: A wise, witty, kind, hard-working, and down-to-earth farm girl. In place of the late Apple I-tan, she was, and still is, the de-facto mother figure of the whole Apple family. She is a great storyteller.
Apple III-tan: A pyromaniac prone to mental breakdowns and other instabilities in her childhood, and even when she did work hard to improve herself, she was still shunned by the public, and left the Apple family in shame, and lives on a remote island. As part of her self-redemption goal, she hopes to save the world someday. Wants to return to her relatives, but feels to ashamed to do so. :(
Lisa-tan: Was spoiled in her youth, suffered many misfortunes and a lot of loneliness. From all of her bottled-up grief, frustration, sadness and guilt, those feelings consumed and overpowered her and she lost the will to speak.
(note: By now, it's possible that Lisa-tan has recovered enough to cheer up and start speaking again)
Macintosh System 1-tan: Is the oldest of the Mac-tans, yet is the shortest, at a height of only 125 cm [4'1"]. She is feisty, charismatic, non-conformist (at least back in the 80's), but has a short attention span, gets distracted very easily, and has a one-track mind. Likes 1980's fashion, and wields a large hammer as her weapon of choice. Despite being the oldest Mac-tan, nearly all of them see her as a little sister-figure who needs to be cared for!
Macintosh System 2-tan: Looks a lot like System 1-tan, but is observant, witty, intelligent, sophisticated, and a little conservative-minded. She rants about stuff a lot and can do so for a long time. Same goes for her lectures. However, she gets ignored a lot and few believe what she says. This annoys her, but she swears that someday, she'll get the last laugh.
Macintosh System 3-tan: Cheerful, bubbly, very outgoing and has great social skills. Likes shopping and tinkering with electronic gadgets. Is klutzy (and in fact the least stable of the Mac-tans) and has a huge fear of bugs.
Macintosh System 3.4-tan: A very strange and baffling character. She is allegedly Macintosh System 6-tan's twin sister, but this can't seem to be confirmed or disproven. Was melancholy as a child, knowing she had no purpose in life. She left the family to redeem her pitiful life in some way; and now she's a very cheerful, strong-willed, bold and hotblooded daredevil who strives to live her life to the fullest, and to the extreme!

I'm very picky about my food, I just eat chocolates for recess, 2,3, maybe 4 packets of 2 bars of chocolates. emmm, what's that again?
Just to put this here, what I found and concluded.
I took five different tests from different places and they all came up to Linux. The sixth one came up as Win 2k. Another put me as Apple OS X.
But when I took "What OS family are you?" I got The Windows family. I think if I combine them I get Win 7 Ultimate. Since I am using the Virtual PC, some programming software, really old programs, run a lot of videos, photos, music, BOINC and I don't really play games. I think that suits me.

Global rule number 1: Do not try to conceal a demon. Or, for that part, impersonate one. It ends badly.

Well, I haven't gotten around to answers myself yet, so if anyone could help out with that it'd be pretty nice (I feel like I'm doing almost everything around these parts these days) - starting with the Main -tans is probably the best way to go. MAKE SURE to read up on their personalities and such in their Wiki articles (http://ostan-collections.net/wiki/) before you get to the answermaking, to make sure we work from matching profiles.

As far as Nanami-tan...I'm torn. The list will feel incomplete without 7 being represented. However, it seems too early to say anything with any certainty about her.

That's the way I feel too about Nanami - and if we don't have data on her it's likely because there is no such data - and then we'll just have to make our own, based on what we do have, right?

sora, to answer your question, i believe that's as far as we've gotten, due to the fact that i opened a pandora's box on this one: there's simply too much for me to do it alone. i asked others to help out, but no one seems to have pitched in. i don't have the time to do any more quizzes right now; there is simply too much ground to cover in one quiz alone.
Well... why not get the ball rolling? My knowledge is limited though... and I think we'd have to come up with a way of figuring out the personalities of the OSes without giving them away too easily.
The wiki should hold pretty much all knowledge needed...
