any thoughts on what os tans would be like as an anime? (i know i'd love it. <3)
also, wiki says that os-tans were created by random japanese artists. anyone know who they are? (potential os-anime project when i'm older)
An anime of OS tans would be so cute, and they could make it funny too by getting some software jokes in it.
If they ever do it, they should also make a Console-tan anime as well

Secoonded... As much as I love the tans and anime for them isnt likely. That is a major production thing and would require all sorts of licencing, permissions and copyrights, which would not come cheap, and I dont think the original creators would give up the rights. I think your asperations would be better suited to creating your own original story and characters for people to love

cirtanly not. Animation, least good profesional animation, requires a full team of animators, it wouldnt be just a single persons thing. Lead animators to draw the key frames, tweeners to to do the ones between, the background artists, cel painters, etc.. besides, seems most everyone in the US seems to be doing 3d animation these days.. say when was the last time disney actually created a 2d animated feature that didnt go straight to DVD?

You could create a doujinshi anime, but it wouldnt be that high quality, and it would be a pain to find enough artists willing to work on it without the corporate paycheck that quality animators could get

none, they are nto copyrighted. thats the deal with them, and thats why deja vu got in so much trouble, they tried to copyright and sell them, claim them for their own and the original creators were quite angry. that and they were taking artistic licences with them like made a differnt NT and such. anyhow, thats why im constantly reminding people around here that we are to honor the tans and where they come from and make no attempt to claim them as our own. Every work I create based on them is fan artwork, simply showing how much I love them. Honestly im not sure how doujin artists get away with selling comics based on them tho.. then again doujins overall seem to be shady in that aspect cus they do it for things that are copyrighted

we are.. unconcenquential.... there is no money to take from us, and we are making no money off of them. for the most part thats what the copyrights are there to protect. Why would they spend money on a legal team to shut us down, when it gains them nothing?

at any rate, the funny thing is, it actually WOULDN'T be that hard to get licencing. i've look at the microsoft site, not one mention of the -tans. and as for the original creators, they sort of can't be determined, there are actually fights going on over who actually did come up with the canon os-tans.
and the terms "ME", "2k", "XP" are not subject to copyright. add in "win", and it's still not under copyright. (especially since "Mac" isn't either; twas "Macintosh" back in the day, "Mac" is slang, and it is now "apple". sometimes things may be subject to copyright though, such in the case of ipods. )

gotta start somewhere. Diving face first into a project is a good way to get alot of practice, plus it shows you what you need to work on. You may not complete the project, but its a good endevor.

eeeeh you take the whole dying thing out of mahoromatic, you defeat the entire point. It was basicly animes take on the cancer story. Instead of cancer, its a robot with little time left, but its a story about making use of the time you have left etc...

suddenly, from the neighboring studio (yes, due to budget cuts, both newscasts are filmed in the same building) kyourou-kun (os9-kun) runs in and helps ME off set, resulting in 95 running over in a flaming rage, and 2k&XP having to hold her down while she foams at the mouth in rage. 3.1 ushers the 2 off set to the hallway.
in other news, i just lost the game. >_<;

Yes I agree if the Mac-tans and Windows-tans HAVE to be in the same room, 95-tan should be locked in a cage!
XP-tan should be in charge of the food channel, and get yelled at by 2K-tan when XP-tan ate the ingredients before starting... AGAIN.
Also on the field should be 95 OSR 2.5-tan who challenges 98-tan and 98SE-tan to some sports or even crazy dares!
95 OSR 2.1-tan should be in charge of the tech channel and presenting her new inventions, most of which backfire!
And if there were a beauty pagent scene, XP-tan and Vistan would probably be fighting the whole time!

However, the flaws mentioned here prevent OS-tans from being done over quality stuff such as anime. Hmm... maybe if some rich person decided to waste money on something that would not gain him anything other than entertainment... and maybe even some tax benefits on his wallet.
No... wait... it can be done. If you go to an art school and take doing an animation as your final proyect... try convincing a lot of people to do it with you. Maybe, just maybe... you'll be able to land 10 minutes (safe bet, 30 at most) of content before the end of the class.

South Park-style animation is pretty sweet too...
True it takes a lot of effort but it is easier to make than anime, because you have to draw the facial expressions just once... ^_^

so what about an os-tan channel? in addition to the anime, and perhaps a spinoff or 2, and the news, what else would be featured? ideas, people.
I'm sure that the Mac-tans would have their own news channel too.
I'm also imagining a scene in the 'anime' where OS/2 Warp-tan barges into the Windows news station and starts wreaking havoc! (for those that don't know, OS/2 Warp-tan has a huge bloodthirsty vendetta against the Windows Family. At least the Windows-tans and Mac-tans have attempted diplomacy but OS/2 Warp-tan is completely and absolutely unforgiving!)

Okay, sticking with the idea of world domination here. Now that Commodore is back (with high-spec gaming machines, if anyone's interested) the story could perhaps go that they start overtaking the Windows-tans in popularity. Our beloved 2k-tan then goes to the original Commodore-tans asking for help. But the Commodore-tans don't know what to do; they long to return to their former glory, but they have disowned the new guys because they are not true Commodores.
The end would be good (as we all know it will be), as the Commodore-tans see reason and decide to help the Windows-tans. Thus the new Commodores are defeated and the natural balance restored.
Any thoughts?
That's right! Commodore was resurrected but too bad they're not the same and their modern stuff just doesn't compare to their original stuff :(
That story idea sounds pretty good but according to the OS-tan backstories, there are some problems with that:
1. The Commodore-tans do not all live together. PET-tan, C64-tan and Amiga-tan live with the vintage OS-tans but the others are wanderers that could live anywhere! Getting them all together wouldn't be easy! (But in a near-future storyline they all do finally reunite)
2. They do not have a lot of resources at their disposal. However it could be possible that the Windows-tans cut a deal with the Commodore-tans to give them enough resources.
Lol, or the Commodore-tans could just call for the support of their legions of fans. I'm sure that alone would put the fear of god into the new Commodores.
Dont forget that in the era of the old commodore tans, programming was very resourceful and clever to get the max out of the little power the hardware then provided...
I could think that the old commodore tans could do incredible things with little resources (guerilla warfare ^_^), couple that with the resources Win tans could make available to them, they can be a powerful force if they were to unite...
