Newbie here. I just would like to know how does the rank system work here. What would I be promoted to (currently MS-DOS)
It's determined by post count.
DOS/V is the starting rank, with MS-DOS @ 15 posts, followed by:
Windows 3.1 @ 30
Windows CE @ 60
Windows 95 @ 100
Windows 98 @ 150
Windows NT @ 200
Windows ME @ 300
Windows 2000 @ 400
Mac OS 9 @ 500
Linspire @ 600
Windows XP @ 700
Mac OSX @ 800
Vista @ 900
GNU/Linux @ 1000
OS-tan Master @ 1500
OpenVMS: OVER 9000~! >O<;;
Still can't believe Vista outranks OSX though. D:
Someday, god willing, I'll progress on to TRSDOS. Right now I might as well be a proud Vista.

It's because OSX came out 5 years before Vista.
Since linux is always changing, there is no definitive all inclusive release.

Sometimes people just earn their custom rank like that apparently.
Because Aurora's bored and has too much spare time.
And the law of custom ranking goes just like that; the less you ask for it, the likelier is it to come around.

And I'd say that seeing as the chart is by Aurora, it's quite official indeed. It is recommendable, as I see it, to sticky it or put it in the rules/info thread, or whatever. Making a general info sticky would perhaps work for this?
