Does anyone here know about .hack//CHAT (also known as .hack//KYAT)? It's a metagate...thing. Sorry, I don't know how to describe it.

Well, I'm looking for an avatar of the OS-Tan's. If you know what I'm talking about and can help me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

hey, person i haven't seen before! hiyaz!

Anyhoo, I don't know of any really. You'd have to make one.  And I, for one, am not a very good pixel artist.

So, I present thee a template http://web1.kcn.jp/hp44mk32/ava-sakusei-png.html

The first images shows a 6 frame walking movement. Each frame being in a particular column.  The rows show the walking from four different angles.  The last row shows the rest/not moving image.  Is .hack//CHAT isometric? The pic seems to imply that it is.

And Jeff found pixel art tuts:

Ah sou, now I see.... -v-
This somehow ties back into the whole OS-tan game thing.  -v-

Sounds interesting, but not sure how fruitful this will turn out if over 95% of our members won't even be able to read the text shown on screen.  Have enough trouble as it is reading the instructions.... -v-'

headphone try to rip some sprite animations out of MUGEN characters (open source fighting game),
there are some characters made of the OS-tans also
there's version 2.5 of a fighting game available in the download section featuring a lot of OS-tans (at least all of the windows family) try something with that

Or if you're feeling cheap and not so innovative, chop out a select part of a good tan pic and rampage around with it in photoshop, gimp or something similar.

well i'm checking the website and it seems headphone here needs something that moves...not just a sing picture
(read the thing people post nejioniwa and not just the topic :P)

the animations seems to be compiled of a very simple template with pictures of the character in 2 poses (standing and sitting), and 4 view angles each with their altenating picture animation for movement.

this can't be done as easily as you thought cause you'd have to make the character from scratch yourself, it's not that hard but you can't rip anything out of MUGEN by the looks of it.
If you could find a horizontal rotating animation of an OS-tan you might be able to capture a couple of the poses and just make the "walking" pictures of them yourself

Is it really that hard to draw the OS-tan using that template posted by SleepyD?

Yes,I have heard of .hack//Chat, but you need the japanese windows to work it I think
