dude, you should consider moving a little more south. my mom's dentist is WAAAAY cheaper than that and my dentist is extremely nice, funny, and likes broadway plays! ^^

All this talk about dentists... ;_; I've had all my wisdom teeth removed (twice at a time: first two were an emergency removal as they were causing a huge infection in my mouth), and have the ugliest and most deviant "healthy" teeth among people I've ever met. It used to be a major self-esteem issue still a while ago, but I've pretty much just stopped bothering about them. I was told around when I was 13 that I'd lose some teeth by 35 as they were growing wrong, so woo, really motivating. :/ Haven't had cavities though.

Otherwise I've never suffered many health problems: appendectomy at the age of 14 and the operation I had earlier this spring being my only times in a hospital. I had a fracture in my foot back in 2004, but other than that I've also never really hurt myself.

My appendix has been going for almost a decade now. At least I think that's where the pain is coming from. My grandfather's appendix actually burst when he was a kid and nearly died; my dad's had appendicitis but was able to keep his; hopefully I'll be the one to break the currrrrrrse.....

I'm an Equipment Orderly; a fancy way of saying "I clean IV pumps and other such things" (Although, my new boss seems to think it means "donut boy", which is just part of the reason I hate him...). The funny thing is, even with such a basic job, I actually make more per hour than my mom does as a nurse.

@pitkin: how are you feeling after the surgery, btw? we haven't asked in awhile and i hope there aren't any complications. :3
@nej: most of the threads here are dead....
@bella: if you have a family history, i'd be careful.  make sure you know the signs of appendicitis, just in case. my brother russell's mom got appendicitis during a test at her school when she was younger, and they were so strict about letting kids go to the nurse that she ended up collapsing when she went to turn her test in. .___.;

I figure I got the bigger raise from a combination of being there longer (Since I had been working there for close to a year by the time she started) and leaving a very good impression on my first boss (Who I really liked; he was a cool guy).

Unfortunately, said boss left the company toward the end of last year; being replaced with an idiot who hates my guts for no reason, doesn't understand how anything works in our department, will write people up for the stupidest things, and somehow doesn't even get a warning when he breaks several rules (Just this past week, he nearly injured several people, including a patient who was going for a walk, because he was unnecessarily running down the hall while talking very loudly on his cell phone about matters that where unrelated to work).

Nobody's sure; some think it may have to do with the very small group of people who like him (How anybody could honestly like him, I'll never know).
