I found an awesome used book section in the local consignment shop. They have $1 and $2 dollar soft- and hardcover books, many of which are relevant to my interests.

Got a book on NJ state history, nuclear war, the Soviet secret police, and evolutionary psychology. Fun stuff. =W=

really, REALLY pissed about that.

i'm also sick of these goddamn keyboard shortcuts that are always taking me to different parts of the forum cause of one missed keystroke. >___<;;

my sister tried to set me up with a guy, but it turns out he's nothing like she described. he doesn't even like anime. i'm pretty pissed, but i can't blast her till she gets home tonight. >:\

I'll sound like a teenager, but I cannot get along with my parents. >.< Came to visit them today as I had agreed to meet a childhood friend of mine, and we had an enormous fight over dinner in which I pretty much spilt all the bottled-up frustration since like 1993 at them. I've got the feeling that my relations couldn't be much more broken with my father...

That kinda sucks...

I know my relations with my father ain't the best, but that's mainly due to us both being of pretty similar levels of NAUSEATINGLY STUBBORN and just about the worst combination of anger traits ever connived, so chain reactions surface pretty easily. Add to that that he's a psychotherapist and thus gets all worried/tries to analyze everything. Don't think there's risk of things going that bad, but we're pretty damn incompatible on many points. >_>

Ouch, psychotherapist sounds like someone you don't want to end up against. x) My father and I don't share many things, but the stubbornness you mentioned is one of those things definitely. Add to that a bad temper from my side and our utter disagreement on pretty much anything that just can have two opposite opinions, and voilà. >.<

Family-wise, there's just my dad, my brother and his small family, and I get along well with them; though I can't help but feel that my father is, quite bizarrely, simultaneously extremely permissive and overprotective. Can make for very baffling/frustrating situations at times... : |

Wow, a psychotherapist. Thank goodness none of my family members are involved in the field; I'd be terrified to be around them. XD;;
