Clearly, the solution to Bella's problem is to install Gentoo.

Wait, what? Since when did WINE become a distro instead of being not an emulator?

Happy OSC-anniversary Stew! :D

Around this time last year I returned, after nearly a years' absence.

Like I said before, the insufferably blowhardy community surrounding Ubuntu makes me never want to use it again, I have no idea why Mint is so popular (isn't it just Ubuntu with KDE? Making it, like ... Kubuntu with a new name?), and Wine isn't a distro. It's an emulator I'm WAAAAAAAAY to intimidated to use (plus, it's not like I really use any Windows-only programs... even on my Mac, most of my programs are FOSS things. Due to cheapness/poorness/ineptness at pirating things, not like I have any attachments to the FOSS philosophy).

NejinOniwa

Mint uses GNOME (I think?) and the reason it's popular is because it, like a Mac, is good-looking, comes with EVERYTHING out of the box, and works fabulously.

Not much 'buntu-like at all, to my knowledge.

oh no u di'int!

Agreed with Nej.  Yes, it uses Gnome.  Yes, it looks fantastic.  Haven't had a problem with it yet.  Of course I can't speak for the newest releases since I'm using a two year old version.  Also, YES I CAN TRACK SATELLITES WITH MY LAPTOP WHILE I LEARN MORSE CODE. Hell yeah.

This is... reassuring. Maybe I will give it a whirl. Especially after hearing my possibly-perspective-employer recite a few SUSE horror stories. Well, not so much horror stories as... stories about how horrible SUSE is. <<;

Bella

Soz about the murderous station. Huh, why'd I think the broadcast started at ten? >>

Lol zombie song. >v<

SQUEE WEST END GIRLS! I lurve this song. And Pet Shop Boys in general. X3

stewartsage

No idea?  It always starts at Nine... except when it doesn't... >>

On YIM?

Bella

Yeah, I'm inept with dates and times. >>

Yes, yes I am. Even if it says I'm not. <<

stewartsage

Figured it would be best to ask.

Humans vs. Zombies is on outside my window right now, but I don't get to play...
